What a cool place! I came to the Lithuanian Hall after hearing amazing things about their first friday events. It's a monthly dance party that happens on the first friday in the basement of this cultural hall. I don't know what I was expecting but the place is really cool. The inside features a stunning hall which I believe they use for more sit-down types of events. The downstairs, where the event is held, has a large dance floor, pool tables, a smaller side room, and a huge bar with booth seating. The bar features some unique Lithuanian spirits and beer which I've never seen anywhere else. The drinks are pretty reasonably priced. Entry does cost a small fee. You can buy the membership card for a one time fee of $15 and every visit after that is $5, I think. It's definitely a popular event so I'd recommend carpooling or rideshare since the street parking can be tough. I'll definitely be back! read more

On the first Friday of each month, this hall's basement becomes on of the most interesting bars in Baltimore. When you go your first time, you'll need to buy a year membership pass for $5, and then pay a $6 cover fee. Around 10:30pm the crowd really starts to pick up and the line gets long and place gets busy. The basement has a side room with pool tables and enough space to stand and hang out, there's a square bar in the center with maybe 3-4 bartenders, and a dance floor in front of that. Their drinks are soooo affordable, they have lithuanian beers for $6, mixed drinks for less than $10, and shots for $3. The shots are a lithuanian liquor called Viryta and I believe are made from honey. The crowd ranges from 20somethings to early 40s, and the music is usually from the 80s/90s. This is a place with primarily baltimore locals and is definitely a really interesting and fun experience in the area read more

The restaurant is closed during the summer, BUT the Hall is open for rentals for weddings, birthday parties, showers and meetings. As a Lithuanian, I couldn't visit Baltimore and NOT stop by the Lithuanian Hall, especially during Šokiu Švente (the Lithuanian folk dance festival)! This was my first visit here, and I was very impressed. We started in the basement with some food. They had such a wonderful selection of Lithuanian food- šaltibarščiai, cepelinai, kugelis, kepta duona, napoleonas, šakotis. And how could I forget the beer! Great selection of Lithuanian beer. We definitely left with full bellies. Before we left the basement, we stopped at the bar for a shot of Viryta (krupnikas)- a honey liquor. If you like alcohol and you're visiting the Lith. Hall, get yourself a shot of Viryta! We wandered upstairs and checked out the Lithuanian museum. It was very reminiscent of my grandparents' and parents' house with all the Lithuanian artwork and trinkets. Very cool to see. Last Saturday, my husband and I visited the Baltimore Lithuanian Hall, which is the home of the Lithuanian Hall Association. It is a private club and serves as a recreation center and meeting house for social activities, including dance nights, musical events, community suppers and cultural events. The hall was founded in 1921 to serve the needs of the Lithuanian community. We were given a tour of their Lithuanian National Library, Lithuania Museum of Folk Art, the grand hall with a large stage and Tiki bar, lounge/bar with a small dining room, Maple Room with small stage, and billiard room in the lower level. We even sampled Virytas - which is a honey liquor. We were told that they serve dinner every Friday night from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and that they have dances on a regular basis. read more

Save your soul night is a really great time. Drinks are cheap as hell and the honey liquor is delicious. However the bar service kinda sucks. You pretty much have to go out of your way to get anyone's attention and the bar is large and square so it requires a lot more vigilance. They really don't aim to be efficient or particularly friendly. 20% more effort would be sufficient. Crappy experience at the front desk the other night. My friend mistakenly asked to get a new membership card and thought it would get us other two in for free (oops) and a superiority bro just goes, "yeah, I remember you from last time. How about we do this...you all just pay to get in, plus your memberships." How about not being a mega dick? Hopefully service improves cuz I really like the vibe of this joint. read more

The third visit to Lithuanian Hall in 2017 had all the qualities of the previous ones. The excuse this time was the Annual Lithuanian Bazaar. There were half dozen market shops offering unique items with a little Lithuanian flare. The restaurant/bar had $15 plate with eight choices of the continental Lithuanian food - I learned that most Lithuanians do not have the preference for the seafood products besides herring fish meal. That was too bad because last visit featured "fish sticks" with salmon and thick dough crust and they were delicious. My meal was delicious and it was worth filling the belly with fine quality Lithuanian food. There are also dozen types of affordable Lithuanian beer or hard liqueur made of honey available for purchase. The music serenaded people and lasers spread green and red Christmas cheer. It felted welcoming, like you are in someone's big house for a big Christmas party. After great meal I had Lithuanian ice cream and played pool billiards and after that I took my son for the activity of minting Lithuanian medieval coins. I cannot wait to come again to their weekly Friday dinner or their annual festival in 2018. I really want to support this institution because this over-a-century-old ethnic place of interest is not just a treasure for the Lithuanian Americans in Baltimore but a treasure for all the Americans that believe that they are unique - just like everybody else, when in the reality we are all more similar then we are different. read more

I have previously enjoyed some nights at the Save Your Soul first Friday's events. The music is nostalgic, and the ambience is unique from a typical dance club in a good way, but over the last few months, we have noticed a disturbing trend at the bar service. As I'm sure other reviewers have mentioned, it is a cash bar, which we were prepared for. We also knew what we wanted to order because we have been here multiple times. We were prepared to wait our turn, as there were multiple people at the bar. However, what we were not prepared for - either time - was for a group of young men to come up and be served ahead of us, when my (female) friends and I had waited over 25 minutes to be served. This happened not once, but twice, that a male customer was served before us although we were waiting before him in the order of customers. Gentlemen, if you want to visit here, enjoy your honey shots and Lithuanian beer. Ladies... maybe try another bar?? Might never come back. Fool me once... read more

Came here on Friday night... My friend paid the $10 "membership" fee at the door so that the rest of us could pay a $5 cover charge. Not quite sure why this membership fee exist. It'd be one thing if the membership got you drink discounts or access to some secret area. But I think its just a discount to get in. Kind of silly to me. But ok, whatever. The "soul" dance party was great. The music was reminiscent of 1960s funk and 1970s "house" music. Hard to describe but I liked the mix. The music also wasn't so loud that I couldn't have a conversation with people and I liked the fact that they didn't play recognizable songs but more obscure stuff. The bar is cash only but the drinks are REALLY cheap so I'm not complaining. $2 for draft beers?! $3 for bottles? and $3 for shots of Honey liquor?! Can't beat that. Now I've seen a bunch of fellow yelpers on here saying that the LIthuanian Dance Hall is a "hipsters" paradise .Well, to be honest, I don't know what a hipster is anymore. I used to think it was just unfriendly, pretentious people who liked to wear ball tight pants and intentionally look greasy. But for some reason I dont think there's a universal definition of what a hipster is. After all, I like to listen to indie music, consider myself a real musician, wear dark rimmed glasses because they look good on my face and kind of wear my jeans on the "tighter" side because baggy jeans looks stupid. But I'm also a libertarian conservative who would rather see Elmo in office than that dopey Muppet we have now. So am I still a hipster? Either way, who gives a s***. I'd rather be partying with hipsters anyways. At least they tend to like good music. My only big complaint here is that the place can get really crowded. With that behind said, the bar/dance room was hotter than the inner thighs of a sumo wrestler. Luckily the adjacent room was air conditioned and was a great "cool off" spot to hang out in. I like that there was actually security in this establishment too. I only wish there was a parking lot of some kind nearby as I'd rather not walk around Hollins Market unarmed at night. But I'm glad this place exists nonetheless. It offers cheap drinks, good music and a secured environment for us "hipsters" to congregate in. read more

I've been meaning to check out Lith Hall's Save Your Soul dance party ever since I moved to Baltimore nearly a year ago but I only finally got around to it this past week. Lord am I glad I did! Great 50s/60s dance music, deadly $2 honey liquor shots, awesome dancing, plus a John Waters sighting, all for a mere $5! It was hands-down the best dance party I've been to in Baltimore so far. The only downside is the gridlock created by the cover charge. They had separate lines for members/non-members but IDs were all being checked by the same person so it didn't really make a difference. I went here with a couple friends to the "Save your Soul" night, which is on the first Friday of every month. The line to get in took about 20 minutes to get through (we got there at 11pm.) Once we got in, we found a chair to put our coats on and got some drinks! The beer and shots are cheap. The honey liquor is really sweet at 70 proof. Hoorah for ethanol and simple syrup! It's quite tasty. The bar is CASH ONLY! The feel of the place is DEFINITELY hipster. If you were to point in any direction and say, "See that guy with the black, thick rimmed glasses?" I can only speak about the 60s night event here. I've been attending for 4 or 5 years (cannot believe that!) and really enjoy the last Friday of every month. The clientele for 60s night has also changed a great deal in that time span. Now you need a Lith Hall ID and then cover on top of that, so make sure you have cash when you show up. Even though there are now longer lines, don't expect to wait long for drinks. The bartenders are pretty good at going straight down the line and don't always choose favorites, which is nice. What I really like about the Lith Hall, besides the great prices, is that everyone there can be trusted. We oftentimes bury our purses under jackets and don't worry too much throughout the night. read more

Saw a fabulous show there last night. "RAWK! Land of the Living." It was as close to any Las Vegas review style show that you will see in Baltimore. Robin Miller (Passions Productions, LLC) a former Las Vegas showgirl herself, puts on an entertaining show with lots of beautiful, leggy dancers, sexy costuming, terrific choreography, music and singing. The venue itself was great. Very cold beer at very reasonable prices with an exceptionally friendly bar tender. read more

Holy freaking super ultra mega fun Friday night!!! If you are looking for a hilarious experience, this place is not to be missed. I came here last weekend and apparently the first Friday of every month the DJ plays seriously fun music from the 50's. Such great vintage music and innocent fun, unlike the usual dance clubs these days filled with pervs grinding all over you. One thing to keep in mind, the beers are way bigger than normally sized bottlenecks and surprisingly they are way cheaper than you would except! The bar tenders are incredibly friendly and really accommodating. The bathroom is big and clean. They also have a room off the bar with a sweet pool table and seating. The dance floor is the perfect size, large enough to shake it but small enough that you can meet some pretty sweet people to dance with. If it's your first time, you either have to pay the $5 membership fee which is good for up to a year or come with someone who is already a member. There is also a $5 fee for the DJ. Best $10 I've spent for a fun filled night of hilarity. CAN'T wait to come back! read more
