The entree and small plates (next time I'll skip th pate). were scrumptious. We also odered the tasty deserts. Our server Nina was very friendly and hospitable...5 star service! The decor is hysterically amazing. I love the little pirate ships. I wish we were able to get a table but they were all taken. Because of all the fabrics and decor, I found it a little dusty underneath a ship and sneezed a little bit so be careful if you have a severe dust allergy. Now, onto the food: what a fabulous deal! There is a prix fixe menu which is super valuable or you could pick it a la carte and still save a bundle for eating out. The mussels appetizer was amazing. The duck I had for my main was so good. But that banoffee pie was out of this world (I love me some banoffee pie especially since it's hard to get in the States). Very impressed. If I lived in Croydon, this would definitely be one of my favorite spots! read more

Great atmosphere and interesting food. The decor is unique. We had a lovely lunch there several times.

If ever you're around this area, do visit on a Wednesday night as its operaaaa night so you can get the full experience!! (although be warned that you would probably have to book in advance as it can get fairly packed). Before I came to this restaurant, I did a quick google street view search and to my delight, I found that you can actually go INSIDE THE RESTAURANT!!! It gave me a good exclusive view into the interior of the place and can I say, that it is amazing visually!!!! Who cares about the food because it just looks so quaint inside!! Unfortunately, I was seated just on the outer room of the restaurant which looks just as nice but not as nice as the special room ;-) (if you book you might get a space deeper into the restaurant!) The special room comprises of an opera house -like set up complete with balconies and detailing on the walls and ornaments. Best place to sit would be the balconies (which you can also visit on google street view :D). This place is very popular for dates, birthday functions, parteeess and proposals ;-) Food wise is reasonable, and appropriate portion sized but the main reason to visit is the venue itself. read more

Little Bay is hilarious! Entertainment: I had no idea what to expect as we came here for a friend's birthday (I think her husband booked it to make her giggle!?) The décor is set up a bit like a theatre, with the back room surrounded by mini booths overlooking the central stage area. While we were there on a Friday night the whole restaurant was serenaded by an opera singer during our meal. This was brilliant! Food: I didn't think the food was particularly amazing (it wasn't bad...it just seemed a little like a posh pub from the 90s!) BUT it all tasted alright. Tucked in round the back of a busy High Street that's groaning with eateries, Little Bay looks rather like an unassuming Swiss chalet on the outside but offers up a hotch-potch of styles and flavours inside. The menu is continental-inspired, and although a little restrictive does have a good selection of meat, fish and veggie choices - plus a list of daily specials. The Rump of Lamb with gravy is especially tasty, and the puds are delicious. The surroundings are a mix of dramatic theatrical elegance and over-the-top TV home style, although the ambience is very relaxed. Junk-shop chic meets a day at the opera. On a Monday and Wednesday evening diners can also enjoy an aria or two from a local opera singer, as they sing for their supper. Ah firm favourite with the hudd's, little bay is a fabulous local restuarant! Set in a venetian operatic dream the interior is fantastic, you can dine in little opera style boxes covered in crushed velvet and gold lame. The menu offers a great selection, simple but really tasty food for a great price with excellent service! Pay a visit to the porno style toilets for an extra treat! When i was there last there was live opera on a monday, and lots of weekend entertainment with live bands a regular. A gem for Croydon you must go!! read more

We went there for a family meal and we had a nice time. The parking isn't fun, they don't have a car park and the nearest street parking is pay and display(even on a Saturday) and limited to two hours, not much use when a good meal is longer than that! There are two pub car parks nearby that don't seem to be used much, it would be nice if they came to an arrangement with them for customers to use them. The food is okay, is not of the level you would expect of say a gastro pub, but not expensive and comes out quickly. All that said the funky decor, friendly atmosphere and being family friendly more than made up for it. read more

Fantastic little restaurant. None of the food will knock your socks off but it is extremely reasonable and good quality. Anyone feeling the pinch, it's a great first/second date venue, just don't go on opera night as it is a little too much (maybe that's just me)! read more

Possibly one of Croydon's most bizarre and eclectic restaurants! Little Bay is of the European/French cuisine and is themed in a rather garish way, I feel it looks quite a lot like a scene from Moulin Rouge. It was quite cool but at times a little too much to view. The food here is good but not great and the service can differ depending on time of the week. It's not bad value for money though and it is a unique restaurant, especially for Croydon. read more

This is right beside my flat. The food is good, not amazing but with the dirt cheap prices, you always leave feeling pleased as punch. Talking about punch, if you get one of the Punch & Judy booths, you feel like you're a queen and it's incredibly novel. If you're even luckier, you will experience the live opera singing! There used to be quite erotic lesbian art work in the female toilet - it's gone and I'm gutted but wouldn't stop me going back again and again and again! read more

Six of us went here for a Sunday Lunch. We chose to eat in one of the quirky balconies. All food was excellent at reasonable prices. I felt the portions could have been bigger, but that seems to be the same with all arty presented food (or it could just be me !) A bizarre, enjoyable experience ! read more

Little Bay has been a favourite with my family and friends for some years, as it's such good value and has a really nice atmosphere. The decor is always a source of intrigue, as it looks like it's trying to be Italian in some parts and Moroccan in others, but that is part of its charm. I'm not a gourmet, but I always enjoy the food - though I would say that it doesn't have the widest range of choice for vegetarians and I tend to eat the same things when I go. My meat-eating friends and relatives all agree that the meat and fish is very good, though, and there is certainly plenty of choice: in addition to the cheap set menu, there are always a number of (more expensive) specials. This is good for a cheap birthday meal or simply for catching up with friends. Recommended. read more
