One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in the UK. The service was impeccable, you really know a places is good when the staff always fold a person's napkin if they ever leave the table. The Pork Loin was very tasty and the vegetables were fresh. I liked that when we bought a bottle of wine the bottle was kept in a bucket near the table and that the staff made sure our glasses were never empty. They also made sure that we never run out of water. The prices can range from £30 to £50 per person depending on whether you get an appetiser and the type of wine you buy. Definitely a place to go for a nice occasion and I highly recommend making a reservation since the place was very busy the night I went. It also seems to be a good place for group dinners (a group of 10 were celebrating a birthday).

I have only ever come here for dinner and have done so now on a few occasions. Joanna is a restaurant which seems to have stood the test of time. There are many places to eat in the Crystal Palace Triangle and many have come and gone over the years but, Joannas has been here for some time. Upmarket decor with proper linen on the table and napkins. Service is of a high standard also with the majority of them being polite and patient. I've sampled a variety of meals here but don't think I've had the same one twice which shows that they keep there menus refreshed. Wine is served by the glass, pot or bottle a rare choice in this neck of the woods! Came here last to catch up with an old friend. They were patient as we chatted, as you do and forget about ordering. Then, because of chatting take too long to finish. With a bit more chatting delaying the ordering of the dessert. But, did not show annoyance by us and just continued with what they had to do until we were ready. I found out a very little known fact that this restaurant has its own car park!!! I know, its OWN car park round the back. I have yet to use it but, apparently it is there info given by my companion who has used it! All in all a good meal service and venue. Good dessert, both were well made (yes I tried 2) and of a decent serving yumm. Long lasting Joanna's, I will be back to try more!

I love eating here. Joanna's is a local favourite. Fantastic affordable food, friendly, experienced service and great atmosphere. Make sure to order a Grasshopper or two. Yum. But don't forget to make a reservation for brunch at weekends.

The food was very good. The service was excellent. However, it was slightly overpriced for what was on offer.

We were here for the breakfast and three of us ordered off the menu, and two of us just had to be fussy and order various items individually. They catered to every wish! The coffee was fantastic and they even had skimmed milk (YEY!) I had the English breakfast with poached eggs, and apart from some hollandaise sauce that appeared on my eggs (I don't like hollandaise sauce!) it was all very yummy. The mushrooms were cooked with rosemary and the cumberland sausage was delicious. I was not keen on the bacon, but that's probably because it was smoked and I'm not a fan of food tasting like sweet smoke. My fellow breakfastarians between them tried the Eggs Special Royal (to celebrate our new princess!) which was apparently delicious, but came with cold avocado under the egg, which made the temperature of the whole dish a little odd. There were no other complaints though and we all agreed to go back very soon. Lovely place!

I asked to wait 15 minutes for the regular menu to start and the staff happily let me sit, reading a book and offering a jug of water. At noon, I ordered a small asparagus and goat cheese tartine. Man, what a DELICIOUS dish. Tons of rich goat cheese smeared on a large slice of grain bread. Shaved parm chunks with diced green peppers as well. I got the dish sans egg. A small green salad with a light dressing accompanies it. Overall a salty, rich plate of goodness for 4.50 quid. The waitresses were constantly in the garden so it was always easy to get their attention for drink top-ups and such. They all had smiles on their faces and were quite kind. This pleasant attitude is so rare in London, I had to tip well! Well done Gantry!

You can tell that it's posher than a regular cafe, because they put tomato and rocket on the sausage and bacon sandwiches. When I was growing up, the only rocket I'd heard of took people to the moon! It's not just the sausage butties that are posh, there is a good selection of pork pies, scotch eggs and sandwiches. And the cakes! Wow, the cakes are great. There are the usual suspects; carrot cake and red velvet, some amazing caramel shortbread and there are even some gluten-free treats. There are two reasons this little hidden gem doesn't get 5 stars. Firstly, it's not always the speediest service. This can be quite an issue if you are trying to grab breakfast before running for a train. Like with a lot of places, It's particularly bad when it's busy. The second reason it's only 4 stars is the price. I know, you get what you pay for, and I do like it's aspirational middle-class elite-ness. But I picked up a sausage and bacon sandwich, an iced tea, some 'breakfast pudding' (wonderful squidgy caramel shortbread), and an extra sandwich for later (whatever, I'm a big guy) and it cost me over a tenner! I guess the main problem I have is my champagne taste, but lime & soda budget.

I got a takeaway box of the freekah, roasted pepper, courgettes and blueberries (I think) with onion mixed with the cauliflower, honey-roasted sweet potatoes and bulgar wheat, as well as hummus and tzatziki, for 5.50 quid. While I think that's pricey, the medium-sized box is filled to the brim so I got at least two meals out of it! The flavours are great: the honey is not too overpowering on the sweet potatoes and the freekah is mildly nutty. Job well done!
