I found this spot on Groupon when visiting Houston and got a great deal for an hour with for my two kids! My husband and I are both in STEM careers - so any chance we get, we're trying to introduce our daughters to STEM activities and this place did not disappoint. The staff were very kind and welcoming. They had the girls put on their lab coats and safety glasses, explained the science lab rules and helped clean up our messes as we moved through the stations. We got to do so many activities and experiments and you also got to take your slime/product home after. I will say the time goes very fast so you do have to be quick if you want to try out more of the experiments. I took my two grandkids here for a one hour open lab. The persons welcoming us were friendly in giving us directions. However, there were two groups of summer camps going on in the room so we were told we couldn't access the labs on that side. All the assistants were busy with the camps or were welcoming in others. The groups of camp kids of course got very loud which made it hard to talk to my grandkids and instruct them. The verdict from them was they felt it wasn't fair that they couldn't do experiments on the other side so they were disappointed. Suggestion: Put the groups in the enclosed rooms. I would appreciate one if the assistants help in addition. read more

Fun educational science activities for kiddos. My kiddos ranging in age from 4-13 enjoyed themselves. The staff is helpful and nice.

I had never heard of Little Beakers Science Lab for Kids before my daughter was invited to attend a birthday party her last Saturday. Upon arriving we were greeted by their welcoming friendly staff. They had me fill out the waiver and then showed me where to pick out a Lab coat and safety goggles for my daughter. I was impressed already because I knew they would be doing little experiments and making slime and in the back of my head I was worried about messing up her cute outfit. I was relieved they offered lab coats to protect the kids clothing and safety goggles. The hosts names were Elizabeth, Paul and Michael. Elizabeth was the main host that conducted and instructed the kiddos in their experiments. She was very patient and helpful and made it very entertaining for them. The experiments were very cool. They made yellow snow, made a volcano explode, a pop top pop open and fly and a bottle fizz to the ceiling and of course they all made slime which they could keep and take home. All of the girls brought their own American Girl dolls which we all took photos of. The party goers had a private room which the parents decorated. They did not offer food so they ordered Papa Johns pizza and brought in the beautiful birthday cupcakes. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The party was very interesting and a lot of fun. We went to the restroom before leaving and they had planets and constellations with all the zodiac stars on the was and hanging. It was super cool. I would definitely recommend this place as a great place for a little aspiring scientist to have his or her birthday party. read more

We went without having much information and I would say if you only have an hour or if you can set aside a whole afternoon, GO! Kids absolutely loved it, and learned a lot. I was impressed with the organized stations and helpful staff. The first step is putting on a lab coat and safety glasses. Then you are given a lab book with several experiments for each of the 6 sections. You get to choose what you do, and everything you need is in the section, clearly marked. We made smoke, created a tornado, created an explosion, measured density, fabricated a heart, made beach bubble gum, shot a rocket we created, created snow, made salt & pepper dance, and so much more. Holy cow. There's so many ways to make slim and more slim. There's other projects that are not as memorable but my 3 girls loved making slim!! The experiments are simple and easy to follow however unless your kids are older (10+) they willl need your help. Wonderful value when you get the 2.5 or all day. The one hour flies by, we learned the hard way. We have gone twice and both times were equally as fun. My girls love mixing the chemicals and seeing what happens. This is by far the most interesting place you can have an educational-type birthday party. I love that it looks like a school science lab inside. It brings back memories of high school. There are chemical compositions written on the wall. In one room, they have the periodic table displayed on the wall. Set atop the tables are microscopes, flasks, beakers, molecular structures and more. In the bathroom, look up and you'll see the solar system. We attended a birthday party here recently. All the children donned lab coats and safety glasses. They had the children gather together at one table and an instructor led them through multiple experiments. Not only did he go through each experiment with them, he also asked questions and follow up questions, teaching them, as he went along. It's like being in a fun classroom! For the party we attended, my son was able to make snow, slime, volcano-like reactions and popping rockets. Lots of entertainment with a quick educational lesson sprinkled in. Every child participating got to take home two of their experiments - the snow and the slime. Afterwards, everyone washes their hands in one of the many sinks around the room and heads into the party room for food and cake. This is the most enjoyable kids birthday party we've ever been to. My son is still talking about it days later and wants to go back to play "scientist" again. read more

This is a neat place and the kids like it. But they lack basic safety supplies. My daughter was here for a birthday party and had a chemical splashed in her eye. The staff member had no idea what to do. She got the owner. I asked the owner where the eye wash was. He said they didn't have one and just use the sink. He then slammed his office door. He was completely rude and unconcerned with the fact that my daughter's eye was stinging. The absence of the eye wash is not only an OSHA violation for the employees who work there, it is also a safety risk for the kids attending events there. If you are running a science lab for kids you should be properly prepared to treat emergencies. read more

This is such a fun and unique place to keep my kIddo entertained for a couple hours. I love the hands-on, educational nature and he loves making slime and learning about science experiments. The pricing is super reasonable as well. We recently did his birthday party there and we he a great experience - very reasonably priced compared to many other kids entertainment places in the area! What an ingenious concept for children - a combination of fun and learning all in one! I drove by the center one evening with my husband, and the name of the place really stood out to me so I immediately Googled it when I got home. I love the fact that the owner has a background in science and has translated it into educating children while they interact with their parents or loved ones. I took my two-year-old nephew here on a Sunday afternoon, and we had a blast! Watching the excitement in his eyes as we conducted each of the experiment brought so much joy to me. I like the fact that we had quite a number of experiments to choose from (30 of them) and that they only took about ten minutes to go through. All the supplies, ingredients, and materials were nicely marked and easy to find. The four stations were visibly marked and plenty of working space in each station. There were children of all ages there with two birthday parties going on so a bit chaotic but in a good way. The negatives - The girl who checked us in looked like she wished she was somewhere else other than at work that day. She was robotic in explaining the process. I think there should be more lab assistants available to help those who have never been there before. I had to look around for several minutes before I got some help, and they should wear something that makes them stand out from the others who are already wearing lab coats. If you are looking for a fun activity to do with your kids, look no further. Upon entering you are given goggles and a lab coat (well the kids are) and a binder full of experiments to choose from. The various labs (science tables) are named after famous scientists. You can weigh at any station, unless there is a party going on. We had two 3 year olds, and one 10 year old in our group, and all three lived this place. They made goo, slime, explosions, smoke, and all kinds of fun stuff. You can take home anything that you make, like slime or goo. We paid $10 for an hour, I felt it was enough, but the kids definitely wanted more time. $16 for unlimited time. I agree with some of the reviewers, though. The owner seemed a little frazzled by all the activity (business) they had. She seemed stressed out. But, I don't think I'd deduct any stars for that, because the kids will still have a wonderful time. read more

The kids had a blast,ages 2.8 and 8. The place is big and i loved they have open available lab during the weekend. Is clean, friendly staff and organized. We purchased one hour and we made 2 experiments. If you are going with kids that need assistance you need an adult per child. Some of the needed supplies were not in the tables, therefore locating the stuff eats some of the time. The staff cleans for you, you leave the mess and they take care of the rest. I took my daughter and son for her birthday and while we were there it was a couple of birthday parties going on. Too much science education is lecture-based rather than hands on, so I was thrilled to find this place for my children, ages 8 and 10. We spent an hour doing experiments on explosions and reactions. Since there are 20 experiments from which to choose, we still have quite a few remaining (properties and polymers, I think) for our next visit to the science lab. It is much more fun and convenient to blow things up or create gases in a lab instead of in my kitchen where I would have to worry about cleaning up ingredients from the walls, floors, or furniture. This place is awesome!! I took my 12 year old son, 8 year old daughter and 9 year old niece and they had a blast. We came for the open lab. I got them the all day pass which was 25 dollars. Very reasonable. We got there at 11 and didn't leave till they closed at 6 pm!! They have about 30 experiments divided into about 6 stations I think. They gave the kids a binder with instructions so they went at their own pace. They had plenty of birthday parties throughout the day which were in separate areas. The staff are all very friendly. I know this place recently opened, but am still surprised that no one yelped it yet-especially given how many kids were there when we went. I took my two stepsons, ages 9 & 12, here on a Friday afternoon for their open lab and they loved it! I only paid for an hour, and they did not want to leave-next time we go I will have to pay the little bit extra for the unlimited lab time. This place is set up very well for kids to have fun while learning! Each child is given a lab book with about 20 experiments in it for them to try. The book and the lab were divided into four categories-explosions, reactions, properties and...I can't remember the fourth. There are microscopes set up in the middle of the room and there will soon be lap tops. There is also a toddler play area that looked nice. My kids are big enough that they could do, and wanted to do, the experiments on their own-just sharing with me the slime they made or their explosions-but parents are encouraged to experiment along with the kids, especially the younger ones, for free. There was also a summer camp going on while we were there (they were making volcanoes). There were a couple of staff people there to help with questons or refill ingredients that ran out, they were very nice and available when needed. The concept and execution of Little Beakers is fantastic! They provide the ingredients, tools, and instructions needed for experiments. My 3 year old loved being able to collect all ingredients, measure things out, stir and create. I have a BIG issue: I don't think they are ready to deal with the influx of business that comes from no school in summer and selling hundreds of Groupons. The place was extremely packed. We spent a good amount of our hour looking for the only container of little foam balls or finding another stool after someone had taken ours, again, or finding someone to help us make sure we are using the tools correctly. I hope they hire more help and make more than one container of essential ingredients available. Overall, a great place. Expect a bit of chaos and elbowing to occur. read more

This is a fun place for kids, because they get to do exciting science experiments. My kids loved creating slime, making fake colorful snow, exploding a Coke, and writing a secret message on a piece of paper. The only negative thing that I didnt like is that the place is small, and it can get crowded, so you might have to wait for a lab area to be free. There are separate lab areas scattered throughout the place, and each one has different science experiments that you follow in your lab book. My 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son had a lot of fun, but my 2 year old daughter was too small to enjoy it. So, this basically is a place for older kids. read more

Parents and children will LOVE IT! This children science lab just opened 2 months ago and it is the talk of the town! We took our children two weeks ago and they enjoyed it so much that they did not want to leave! They are still asking to go back. The staff is friendly, the environment is clean and the experiments are entertaining for both adults and children. This is a chemical free lab environment so do not fear that your child will be harmed in any way. After you pay for your lab time, your child is given a lab coat and goggles along with an experiment instructional book. You are then escorted to the work stations to begin your experiments. For children under the age of 4, there is a toddler area. The only problem with that is that it is unsupervised (for now), otherwise, this is an AMAZING way for your child to find a love in Science. It is wonderful place for children aged 6 onwards , at least that's when I started with my child. When you enter and pay , you are given a demonstration binder , lab coat, eye safety glasses and instructions and then you can go to various stations to complete the demo. Also they have a center table with microscopes and prepared slides, models of atoms , magnifying glass which is a lot of fun for children . It teaches the children many things: measurements, handling various equipment e.g. Pipettes , Burettes, flasks . The best part is easy clean up adults as you just put the things you used into the sink and the employees clean it up. It can get chaotic during summers , after school time etc . So it would help to check the summer camp times and avoid those . We have been there many times and now have done all the demonstrations . The website says they add new demos but really I have not noticed a big change but regardless it is a fun place for children . read more

My son had his 7th birthday party there last weekend. It was our 2nd year in a row. It just doesn't get any better than this. The boys LOVED the experiments. The staff changed things up a little bit from last year so the kids weren't doing the same stuff. The dry ice with bubbles was the hands-down favorite and totally worth the extra $15 fee!!
