We ordered the Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and poutine. The eggs of the Scotch eggs were cooked perfectly but the sausage meat was extremely overpowering. I think they must add a lot of seasoning in it, and honestly it was too much for me. The breading was good and fried well but the sausage was so overwhelming that I just took the egg out and ate that. I do think they use the same sausage meat in the sausage rolls. The pastry was nice and they were a good temperature. But again the sausage meat was so strongly seasoned it was off putting. I do want to note that I grew up in Scotland so I am probably a harsh critic of the Scotch eggs and sausage rolls but my American husband thought similarly to me. The poutine was good. The cheese curds were nicely melted and the gravy was nicely balanced. It was a cool place to check out but I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

The cocktail menu is on the smaller side but well-curated. Prices are reasonable ($11-$12 per drink). Our group especially enjoyed the Manhattan, the smoked Old Fashioned, and the Paper Plane--each one was well-balanced and flavorful. That said, the bartending staff seemed a bit inexperienced. Several had to refer to recipe cards, which slowed things down, and they weren't confident making drinks off-menu. With some more training and time behind the bar, this should improve. There's also a food truck on-site. We didn't get a chance to try it, but the menu looked appealing and gives us a reason to return. Overall, a fun spot with a strong foundation. Once the team finds their rhythm, this could easily become a go-to neighborhood bar.

"YOLO" It is not impressive when you walk in, nor is it impressive from the view of the parking lot. But it is a nice, comfortable, not too loud and not too anything bar. I thought we'd leave after one drink, but the bartender was so nice and easy-going and the clientele the same. The bar was clean, the drinks were poured nicely and not too strong. Everything was just kind of good. So we stayed. Pretty soon we were laughing and the stink of the bad meal wore off and we were a few drinks in. It saved the night. My Chardonnay needed a little chilling and the owner went in the back and brought out this concoction that instantly chilled my beverage. Brilliant! Not only are they friendly-but the space is beautiful, with elevated furniture & decor fitting of a very high-end wine bar, but with a very friendly and approachable vibe. We can't wait to return!
