    Old fashioned

Checked out this new place in the heart of downtown Clayton. As soon as I stepped in I realized that the name definitely matched the vibe they were going for - sort of a mysterious and wizardry feeling. We were greeted by the bartenders who were both very friendly and had some recommendations for us to try. I ordered an old fashioned and was pleasantly surprised with how it tasted. Others in my group had a variety of different drinks and I didn't hear anything bad from them. Only real critique I have for the place is that it was pretty clear that they were a new place and working out some of the kinks with ordering and making drinks and such. I'm sure with time these will get ironed out so keep up the great work! Looking forward to coming back to try a few different things on the menu!

Yet another winner in RTP! When you come in, it looks like a super tiny coffee house with a few…read moretiny tables with people sipping coffee and working on their laptops. I'd be one of them for sure if I lived here! It has a kind of hidden huge and gorgeous dining area in the back. We didn't have time to sit for a full meal unfortunately. So we got coffee and matcha - all excellent and balanced - not overly sweet at all. I got a bacon egg & cheese on a tortilla which was sooo good. This place & the hood gave me NYC in the 80s/90s vibes and I love it. Aaktun is owned by the Michelin recommended Little Bull folks, which I have also reviewed & loved.

My second drink didn't come until after we were done with mains and before bringing mains, our dishes weren't cleared from small plates so we were handing dirty plates to the person serving our food to make room on the table. Then they never came back with new silverware or plates so we again had to flag someone down. Before 7pm they were also out of the half chicken and they bread pudding dessert. Then it came time to pay and trying to use an open table credit was a nightmare. The manager simply said "we don't take that, we moved to toast" but the reservation was made through the credit as a place to use it.

Good reason to come back. Started with prickly pear margarita with mescal. Yum! Had a white wine after. It was ok. My friend and I shared 4 bruschetta's- smoked salmon and pesto, artichoke, caprese, and apple, Brie and fig. Favs were smoked salmon and apple and Brie. The fries were amazing. Salmon board was good too. The bread on the board was much better than the bruschetta. Ambiance is great. Service as well. Will be back!

Their roast beef panini is on par with Portillo's a long standing Chicago beef restaurant (IYKYK). I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel. Plenty of windows that are open on nice days, plants galore and the decor gives you a cool like rockstar but classy feel. 5 stars doesn't feel like enough.

You just circle your protein (chicken, beef, or shredded pork), then circle how you want it, how many you want and wait patiently for the magic to happen. I drove from Fayetteville, North Carolina, because I had visited before and was looking forward to coming back. As a small business owner myself--I own several businesses, including The Sip Room wine bar--I understand that mistakes happen and that every business has policies that employees are expected to follow. When I arrived, the employee working the counter took another customer's order before mine, even though I was next. I didn't make an issue of it because things happen. After placing my order, I was told the business no longer accepts tap-to-pay through a digital wallet. No problem. I went to my car to get my physical card. Before paying, I simply asked if they accepted tap with the physical card. He said yes. I replied that it was interesting they accepted tap with the card but not through a digital wallet. His response was, "I don't make the f***ing rules. You can just leave." I was completely caught off guard. I never raised my voice, never used profanity, and never became disrespectful. I simply asked a question. Instead of de-escalating the situation, he repeatedly told me to "leave" and "get out." As I tried to leave, I couldn't get the front door open. He told me to go out the back, then said he would open the front door if I asked him. When I did, he looked at me and said, "Say please." That was one of the most humiliating customer service experiences I've ever had. Other customers were laughing while this was happening, and the employee seemed completely comfortable treating me that way. As someone who owns businesses and works with the public every day, I know customer service isn't about being perfect--it's about treating people with respect, especially when there's a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here. I love supporting small businesses, and I even create content to help local businesses grow. I truly wanted to continue supporting this one, but after being spoken to and treated this way, I won't be returning. I'm sharing this review in hopes that management addresses how customers are treated, because no one should leave a business feeling embarrassed for simply asking a question.
