When we looked for day cares for our daughter we must have physically visited over 10 of them in…read morethe surrounding area. Nearly every daycare was old, dingy, disgusting and a total lack of cleanliness. (One of them even had a thumb-tack on the floor in the toddler section!) We enrolled her when she was 3 (in 2013) and she just finished her last day. A very sad day indeed. Every class she has been in was very small (around 7-15 kids at most), and the larger classes had two teachers. Between the gym time, Spanish, karate, field trips and all the other extracurricular activities the kids engaged in through the years she was there, I was outright impressed by the level of service for the price. Not only that, but our little girl developed quite well in this school. The teachers worked with her personally, always informed you if something was amiss and took action immediately to ethically diffuse any other situation. Our child was not just a number like how they are in many other schools and daycares. I call this a school because that's what this truly is. This is not just your standard daycare where a random "expert"watches your child in "centers". They actually do care. Let me go through a run down of the value of this school: -Locked doors with security keys where only parents can enter. If someone manages to enter the building, which happens very rarely and mostly due to parents not thinking straight, the staff will stop you IMMEDIATELY and send you to the office. -Entrance DIRECTLY from the back of the school to the playground without having to use a rope for the kids (this was all too common in many of the daycares in the surrounding area and a big concern for us. If one 3 year old runs away from the rope, guess where all the other 10 are going! Thats right, towards a busy road!) -Logging of every event that happened throughout the day. When they went to the bathroom, what they ate, etc. -Ability to warm food (again, this was lacking from a lot of the other daycares in the area!) -CLEANLINESS. At the end of the day, you are smacked with the smell of cleaners. You also will notice the staff cleaning every day after school. This again was something that (while one may think is expected) many other daycares did not have. -Extracurricular activities. Many of the other daycares in the area did not have this and I highly doubt they can even compete. The Apple Tree has yearly field trips to farms, celebrates all the holidays and the teachers work with the children to learn songs for holiday concerts. It quite impressive watching an entire school learn Christmas, thanksgiving and Halloween songs and actually remember the words. Every holiday the teachers hold parties for the kids in class and parents are welcome inside to enjoy after concerts. For Halloween the kids do a "trick-or-treat" in the parking lot, which is situated in the far back of the lot to ensure the safety of the children. -They hold "graduation" every year with a ceremony. -My daughter (at the time 4) learned addition up to 10 BEFORE kindergarten. Her Pre-K2 class heavily prepared her for Kindergarten. She also was able to read words and sound them out just before the start of Kindergarten and now, just finishing, is able to read long books. Not only that but she is incredibly motivated to read and cannot stop putting down books. -Hot lunches (extra money) every monday and friday (mcdonalds and pizza) -VERY VERY VERY understanding of nut allergies. If just one kid in the room has an allergy, no parent is allowed at all to bring in any form of nuts. While our daughter is fine, it's nice to know they care about the safety of other children with these allergies. -since our daughter has been enrolled (which is now for 3 years) the same teachers have been there. They are friendly and her previous teachers always ask about her.

Esthetics: KinderCare was very nice esthetically; our location resembled a cute little schoolhouse…read morewith clean grounds, clean interior (you don't smell any odor of poop or bleach... like some places I've toured), and definitely bright and airy. Everything I was looking for of the ideal poster image daycare. Both classrooms (1s and 2s); large & spacious, with sections for play, reading , lunch/craft table, and diaper changes/toileting; every child had there own cubby area w/ coat hook and bin (that have their facial picture and their names - cute touch!). Price Tag: Ideal = costly. The school tuition is expensive, however there are two perks; tuition includes blankets and all meals. You supply the typical stuff -- diapers and wipes (ointment, etc). There are additional classes called Learning Adventures (offered for an additional fee $50 per child), I signed my kids up for Music, which in my opinion was a waste of money. My children never hymned or sung the songs they learned at home. At the school they attend now, they do. The teachers there all seemed very nice and pleasant. Class size moderate 2:10 (varies each day). Staff: Stacey DeMarco, the school's director is very nice, however, you will not be dealing with her most of the time. It will be either Kristin, whom is the Asst Director and/or Megan, renamed the Program Specialist -- those two were not always the most personable or easy to talk to. In my opinion, that can make or break a school, and it definitely played a part with me removing my kids. Credentials: The school was in the final stages of becoming NAEYC accredited, which by now they are. However, the overall education factor wasn't there for me. I was looking for more of a preschool setting, with curriculum and pre-K preparation. It appeared to be more Playtime oriented, 1 and 2 year olds play, yes, but not all day, that didn't sit well with me. Other Stuff: There is definitely a nice diversified mix of kids. However, some of those kids displayed signs of biting, and also very sickly. My children were getting sick very frequently at this school; the policy they adhere to is the State's policy, so only if the child(ren) are feverish, has diarrhea, and/or vomiting -- will the children's parents be called to pick up a child. My daughter was sick and no one ever called me to tell me she was or appeared to be ill (i.e. watery eyes, runny nose, looked pail -- a teacher, and one who is a mother, should definitely be able to pick up on those signs). When a parent calls and everything is always fine or great, that raises an eyebrow for me, especially when its week one and two, and this is their first time going to school.

This was a great value boost and the facilities were new and clean. We are extremely happy with our choice. The staff is friendly and responsive and our son loves his teachers. He has never had an issue being dropped off for the day (full day). Miss Karol has always been special to Cooper but he also is thriving with her new teacher, Miss Wendy since he moved up to the Toddler class. Everbrook Academy Closter is a wonderful, clean and caring establishment and our son is thriving here.

I will start with the owners, I think. NEVER have I seen owners be so involved within the facility setting as I see here. I am not talking about seeing their faces once in a blue, they are there every day!! They know the parents and children by name, they know what is going on at all times within the facility and that is a big deal for me. They are involved with the children's mile stones as well which is so heart warming to me. They also assist in the classrooms when assistance is needed. They do not hesitate to jump in to assist their staff!!! Another big deal for me. Now lets talk about the staff. From the Director, Receptionist, to the classroom staff I love them all!!! They are all welcoming and knowledgeable. Even the classrooms my son is not apart of greet my son by his first name and are pleasant to interact with. In my son's class-Miss Crystal, Miss Maria, Miss Ola, Miss Clementina thank you for caring for my son as if he was your own, it really makes me feel at peace when I am at work to know he has awesome teachers as yourself taking care of him. it makes me so happy when I see my son interact in a positive, happy way with all of you. I consider you all as extended family at Kinder Kastle as you have been a major part of all my son's milestones and growth. It does not smell like a toilet when you walk into the baby classrooms, another plus for me. Trust me I have this much positive to say due to an experience at Tutor Time when my son was thankfully only there for a month until Kinder Kastle opened, so I know the difference of a daycare that will make us moms feel satisfied and at peace. I also want to say that in this daycare, one of things I appreciate is their strict illness policy. If your child is ill and you are cleared to bring your child back, your note from the physician must specify "not contagious". Makes sense right? I wouldn't want a child coming back in from having something contagious and the parent brought them back in just because, especially when you are paying for services. It would be courteous to the other parents, children and staff to simply ask your physician to specify "not contagious". If you have a physician who isn't able to simply add a comment as simple as that for proper documentation purposes, then maybe you need another physican-just saying! :) Again, thank you all for all you do for my family and I. They make you fill out so many forms about your babies schedule and instructions to just do whatever they want, feed them when they want as well as changing their diapers. They would put products on my baby's skin without my authorization. If you call during the day to see how your child is doing, they would get annoyed and give you attitude. All they want is money, don't let them trick you with the security systems and nice daycare, they do not care about the kids. All of the staff look unhappy and not wanting to do their jobs. I DO NOT recommend this daycare to NO one. Don't trust them specially with vulnerable infants. My experience was awful, I gave them time to put their shit together and spoke to everyone, even the director, to avoid writing this review and having to switch daycare. I think I trusted this facility way too much and had very high expectations, this is why now I'm so disappointed. My baby's first day when I picked up my 3mon old baby her pants were all wet of pee, my daughter was left alone in a corner awake in a swing far away from the other kids and unattended by the teachers, when I grabbed her she was freezing, the air conditioner was too low so when I carried her she was shaking, she was only given 2 bottles of milk during the full 8 hours that she was there (my baby eats a lot) I told them her eat schedule and wrote everything down on a form they provided, she usually eats every 2 hours and even before. When I saw her pants wet and felt how cold she was I asked the teacher (Jayda/Jayra whatever her name is) her answer was "well I just changed her diaper!" (with a nasty attitude) I replied by showing her my baby's pants so she can notice the wetness on it (she never made eye contact) she proceed with grabbing a tablet and slamming it in front of me to show the times she was supposedly changed but that doesn't really means she was changed on time cuz she can document what ever she wants on there and not necessarily be done. I was so irritated that I did not react any other way then just grab my baby and leave the center with my eyes full of tears. After I got home I called and spoke to the manager (Ashley I believe is her name) the director (Kimberly) was also aware, supposedly everything was gonna change but I was already concerned about my daughters safety and treatment. The next day that teacher (Jayda/Jayra) wasn't in my baby's classroom but the teachers there were still not following my baby's schedule, they were not giving the baby her bottles on time, they would always put the excuse that baby was sleeping. I also took my baby some sleepers so she can stay warm in her classroom since it was so cold in there but they would take it off and lose her socks.The third day when I went to drop her off, I went in the classroom and I waited almost 10 min for the teacher to go inside the classroom to take my baby so I can rush to work but she was too busy gossiping with another teacher in another classroom. Every time I use to go drop her off or picked her up, there was a different teacher which didn't know anything about the instructions I had gave to the previous teacher, their communication skills were horrible. This is not a place to trust, it's full of unprofessional and poorly trained staff that are only there for a paycheck and not necessarily because they like kids.

This year in Pre-K 4 with Miss Lindsay and Miss Christie instilled an incredible amount of knowledge into our child and assisted him to flourish into a confident, bright little boy! He learned to write his first and last name, his colors, shapes, numbers, letters, letter sounds and so much more! He can even sound out words! This year he also learned French and can recite colors, numbers and salutations with thanks to Miss Hinda and sign language with thanks to Miss Dana. Miss Debbie and Miss Danielle run an exceptional school and we are so honored to have been apart of it! Other than academics and learn through play, the children also got to experience week of the child which included bounce houses, pony rides and a carnival! The graduation was also anything beyond we could have ever imagined. From the performances, songs, decorations and the after ceremony celebrations was incredible. There are no words to express how thankful we are for Nursery Rhymes and how difficult this "see you later" is for us.
