As a parent, leaving your child at a daycare requires an immense amount of trust, and unfortunately, my experience at this center did not meet my expectations. I am very relieved that my daughter is no longer attending. The highlight of our experience was a few of the lead teachers and teacher assistants who genuinely cared about the children. I truly appreciate their dedication. I also want to recognize Sajida, who was always welcoming and kind. Unfortunately, that level of care did not feel consistent throughout the school. In my experience, the center director Ms Set was difficult to communicate with. There were times when I felt my concerns were not taken seriously, which left me feeling unheard. My daughter also shared that she sometimes felt certain staff members were overly harsh with her. I was also concerned by incidents involving children pushing or shoving one another, and I did not always feel those situations were addressed as thoroughly as I expected. The classrooms themselves were cared for by the teachers, who I often saw wiping tables and mopping floors. However, the overall building did not appear to be maintained to the same standard. During my visits, I noticed dust buildup around the air vents and felt the facility could benefit from more thorough routine cleaning and maintenance. Given how easily illnesses spread among young children, this was disappointing. Another concern was the frequent staff turnover. It seemed like there were constantly new faces, making it difficult to feel there was consistency in my child's care. At times, some classrooms also appeared to be led by very young staff members, which made me question the level of experience available. Finally, I attended the recent graduation ceremony and personally felt the Hollywood theme was NOT the best choice for an early childhood celebration. A bit inappropriate if you ask me. Overall, this center was not the right fit for our family. For the tuition being charged, I believe there are cleaner, more modern centers with stronger communication and greater consistency. Pardon the length, but my review is long overdue. My two daughters had been attending Cadence Academy Preschool (CAP, formerly Prime Time Early Learning) since LITTLE BABIES and LOVE THE SCHOOL!!! Overall, I am very happy and rely on CAP to take care of my daughters. CAP has certainly become an extension of our family. For my older daughter, she attended CAP from 11-months old until 4 years old (50-60 hours/week, 2015-2020). In 2021, my daughter entered Kindergarten upon a "pandemic gap year" of staying at home, however, she transitioned quite easily into the larger, more structured school environment. Now in 2022, she is graduating Kindergarten with the strong ability to socialize well (loves going to school and learning with schoolmates), as well as achieving basic reading and math! Much of her success is attributed to the nurturing, social and learning environment from her early years at CAP. For my younger daughter, she attended CAP from 4-months old until 2 years old (50-60 hours/week, 2018-2020) and is planning to return to CAP soon. Unfortunately due to the pandemic and personal reasons, we had to suspend her attendance, however, she still has many fond memories of her school days at CAP. She tells me every day that she can hardly wait to return, be with her loving teachers and make new little friends. Ever since then we have been very happy customers of Cadence Academy or PrimeTime as it was called back then. The teachers and staff are extremely friendly and create a fun and inclusive atmosphere to teach great core values to the children. The personalized reports and photos are an added bonus. Our son (and we, as parents) absolutely love Prime Time Early Learning Center in Edgewater. Every single member of staff is responsive, courteous, accommodating, and kind. Our son started in the infant center when he was 4 months old and he adjusted within hours. His head teacher Julia is professional, kind, and highly experienced, and his other teacher Elizabeth is also wonderful. We drop him off with a smile on his face, and pick him up with a smile on his face. He comes back home pretty tired, which is an indication to me that he is played with and stimulated. Nothing was good except for Ms. Peninnah and Ms. Debra. Worst experience: starving my daughter for long hours and yelling at a little girl. . . On the first day of school, my daughter's father and my daughter were waiting at the school and the attendants at the entrance showed me the camera records and said that there was no one in the school. Then my daughter and her father came from inside. I'm still confused, they don't even know who is at school. This was the first bullshit, I frankly ignored it. I thought it might have been a moment of inattention, but I still think I could be forgiving. Problem 2: I respected the impulsive behavior of Ms. Setenay, the school principal, but I'm not sure if I should. (sound should not be raised to parent) Problem 3: This is the 3rd fiasco, I left my daughter at 7:40 am and noticed that no food was served until 2 pm / this might be the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life. + (Even though I said I put it in her bag for her breakfast) and at the end of the day when i went to pick up my daughter from school i watched her first and she was eating at the table crying. Her teacher was muttering as if she was touching the glass when I asked if She was crying (not Miss Debra, but a young teacher I had never seen before) I didn't even want to listen to him. I couldn't stand it because it was obvious that my daughter had been crying for a long time because her face and eyes were swollen from crying. That moment is still not before my eyes. Is this a scary camp or something? When I asked her why she was crying after school, she said her teacher was angry with her. (It's normal, it's okay, sometimes teachers can get angry with the discipline, which is unacceptable, but I accept even that very well) And last night my daughter talked in her sleep, that was the scariest thing I've ever heard in my life. But I couldn't stand him screaming "Sit down/put down the toy" in his sleep and freaking out?! It is clear that those who do not have children should not be entrusted to those who lack empathy and conscience at the head of these children. I think letting a small child experience this is a good example of regret. There was absolutely no response to my emails for 2 days. I really need to hear that there is an explanation for everything because right now I can't focus on my work in my office, why are there schools like this? To traumatize children? im so sad... I can't say enough about this establishment. I enrolled my daughter at 1.5yrs and then after my second daughter at 3 months. We stayed at Primetime for two years and had to leave because we moved. I now go to another daycare but will always be so thankful that this was our first experience with daycare. The staff here is amazing! I think the main part of why I loved this place so much was that there was such a strong maternal presence there. These caretakers have years/decades of experience so they care about the kids and the younger caretaker/helpers were incredible as well. Ms Yadira, Ms Sara, Ms Vera, Ms Yira and the Debbies took care of my first daughter and Ms Sajida took care of my youngest daughter and Ysara helped with both girls. These women are AMAZING! My daughters are on the shier side but they all really nurtured their characters and brought them out of their shell. To me this made all the difference. Setenay and Penninah are wonderful too and were always opening to working with us and our schedule. Also, the other children that attended this class were very diverse and so sweet. Our family has been at Prime Time for over three years and we can't say enough good things about our teachers and the school in general. It's in an old elementary school so it feels like a real school with big classrooms with lots of windows and wide hallways. Everything is bright and they focus on kids artwork and bright colors. They also have a big indoor gym which is great for crappy weather. I think the curriculum at Prime Time is a huge focus and the teachers have always taken time to answer questions and share what they are working g on. It also seems like the teachers really like their jobs and the kids. Our sons current teacher has worked there for like 12 years which was never the case at our old day care. I hope my review really helps moms who want to send her loving child to daycare. I sent my 1 year old baby to Primetime for 3 months(Apr.2014~Jul 2014). He was sick all the time since he went to daycare and even got 'hand foot mouse' disease from one of his classmates but it was severe so he had to drop. He only attended two days in July and we paid for a whole month and they did not give any of the tuitions back even we gave notice right after he got sick. I am ok with that. Problem is that we contacted Primetime to get our deposit back at least 15 times and still haven't got it. It's been three months. Every time I call Jan(VP or supervisor), she said she will call me back and never got her return call. Many times she was on vacation or was not around. I am so sick of chasing them to give me the deposit and it is not big at all. I called them this morning and spoke to Jan about that. She sounded really bothered and hung up after saying "will call you in 5 mins." but again never got her call back. These people are not trustworthy at all and so glad my son is not going there anymore. Only reason I sent my son there was that all other daycare around my area was full and had to wait for many months. No wonder why Primetime is not full. read more

My son has been attending Primetime since he was 6 months old. We visited Primetime and Our Children's Academy. Primetime is set up like a school and we felt more at home than Our Children's Academy. Ms. Julia was his teacher in the Snugglies room and she is amazing. She answered any questions that my husband had since he was doing the drop off and pick up. He learned so much from her on raising an infant. She is warm and caring. All of his teachers in each of the classroom are great and he is now 22 months. He also is very social with all the other toddlers and does not shy away from new people. When he was about 9 months old, I took my mom (she watches him 3 days a week) to PrimeTime. We expected him to stick with my mom and myself, but when his teacher came him, he quickly went to her. The teachers are very loving with the children and treat them like their own. read more

I can't even give this place one star. What a waste of money and time. As long as your child has no issues they are fine because they are not ready to put in any work. This school wants trained little puppies who follow directions all the time. This shows how little they know about how toddler thrive. Please do yourself a favor and do research. Stay away from this place. They think they are a learning center when they can't even deal with hyper toddlers, they think they are educators big lie. Check out Genesis Preschool and Academy where owners has a very high education and works with all kinds of kids. She is educated which they are lacking, trained again not in Prime. They provide children many kind of activities and send us a report everyday. My son has been going to Prime Time since he was 4 months old (he's 5 now) and has truly grown and flourished there. He's met some amazing friends and formed meaningful attachments with his teachers/aides who are very loving and supportive. My child attended Prime Time from 2-5 years old. The first couple of years it was a great experience, especially with "The Debbies" whom are amazing, loving teachers. In the last year of PreK we had a horrible experience which unfortunately is enough to negate all the time spent there. This is the year to prepare for Kindergarten. Other moms and I realized half way through the year what a horrible job the teachers were doing. We complained but nothing changed. We felt that it was too late in the year to uproot our children and move them so we stuck it out and demanded more. All of our very reasonable requests such as updates on how our children are doing were ignored. I was even told by my child that the teacher would not help when they didn't know how to do something. I could go on for a long time. Needless to say, my child was far from prepared for Kindergarten. I was advised by multiple people not to send my child there and I wish I listened. We've been a very happy Primetime family since my oldest son was 2 months old. He is now 5 and we now have a set of twins, 2, also enrolled. Since my oldest son is getting ready to graduate from the Pre-K4 class in June, I will speak to our Primetime experience with him. As an expecting mother, I was apprehensive about putting my newborn in daycare. During my maternity leave, I was dead set on finding the best nanny to care for him for when I went back to work. After a string of bad experiences with nannies, I felt even more nervous leaving him to go back to work. Despite my concerns with daycare, I decided to find a large daycare center and check it out. I knew he would get sick and he wouldn't get one on one attention all the time, but the accountability, dependability, and peace of mind a daycare provided was worth at least considering. Our first experience at Primetime was in the Snugglies (newborns). The head teacher, was an incredible resource to me my first year as a mother. She assured me I was doing okay when I second guessed myself. Most importantly, she made sure my son was safe and happy. After our first year, I felt certain that I had made the right decision in sending my son to Primetime. He was extremely social and loving, and was right on pace developmentally. He knew nearly all of the teachers and would get excited to "graduate" to a new classroom with new toys and activities that were age appropriate. He would usually move to an older classroom with the same children which provided him with some additional stability and security. My son is an incredibly sweet well rounded boy and I give a lot of credit to the awesome teachers and curriculum at Primetime. The teachers helped ween him off the pacifier, helped us develop a potty training routine, taught him his numbers and letters, and now he's working on sight words among other things. I only half joke when I say that everything good my son has learned, he learned at Primetime! read more

Both my children are enrolled here because we have come to trust the caring staff. Our 9 month old loves her Snugglies caregivers. While the room is well managed overall, my daughter feels nurtured. A sensitive baby, her daily smiles and reach-outs for the caregivers every morning assures me that this is the case. Also my toddler son, who has been here as an 8 month old and is now in pre k 3 , loves the entire staff and classmates. We have made many good parent friends. There is a sense of village care here so many eyes are on our kids to help keep everyone safe and encouraged. Within this environment he has not only developed strong social skills and confidence but his verbal and creative skills continue to grow and meet milestones. It's been a month since our daughter who is 2, start coming to this daycare. As this was her first time at daycare, and also English is not her mother language, I was not sure how long it'll take her to get used to this place. For the first few days she cried when I brought her there, as expected, but the teacher hug her gently and let me move out of the room. When I came to pick her up, despite my worries, I saw her laughing and playing with other kids on the first day already. The teachers are really caring, professional and I can feel they are giving lots of love to our daughter which is making her feel comfortable, and making me happy that I chose the right place for her. We were referred to Prime Time by friends whose children had attended and their reviews were glowing. As a result, we sent our son there when he was 10 months old (he is now 26 months old). Our experience has been terrific! I've been described as "very hands on" by my family (I am an older, first-time mom) and from what I've witnessed with my son's development thus far, I am very pleased. I am impressed with the curriculum as well as with the attentiveness and nurturing of his teachers. We receive a progress report each day with a photo and the communication with the school and individual teachers is clear and open. He is learning a lot (can count to 15 without help, knows shapes, can identify just about any animal and knows all of his colors). It is just as important to note that he enjoys going to school and playing with his friends. I am also glad that Prime Time also offers activities such as soccer, gymnastics and music. In the end, it is up to the parent to determine what is best for their child and for now, Prime Time is working very well for us and our son. read more

We enrolled our child at Prime Time Early Learning Center when he was around 20 months old. It was his first experience away from us and we were worried whether or not he will be able to adjust to the environment. We were very surprised​ to see that he perfectly adjusted to the environment very quickly. The staff was very accommodating​ during this transition period as well and always let us watch our child from the office which was very valuable for us as parents. I believe the warm attitude of the teachers had a huge effect on our child's quick adjustment. Another thing I like about this school which had big effect on our choice was the fact that the classrooms are huge and plenty of room for my child to wander around. Most importantly, the teachers were very responsive and give us great detail about our son's progress. I enrolled my baby and then withdrew a day before she was to start. I went in to set up her crib in the infant room and observed for 2.5 hours. Incredibly disappointed. I provided this exact list to the director and she was initially defensive but did refund me my registration fees. I'm sharing here because I thought other parents of infants should know before you consider nursery enrollment. I'm adding one star because the classrooms for older kids look better maintained and suitable for the age range. UNACCEPTABLE --Bottle propping when feeding infants who are not yet able to hold their bottles up (this results in much leakage and many dropped bottles) --Ms. Judy throwing toys into the soft playpen. The children in this pen are mobile and there was huge risk of a child being hit by a toy. --Feeding the same bottle of formula (not cow's milk) to a child past an hour of the first attempt. It's recommended to toss unconsumed formula an hour after a baby has touched the nipple for fear of contamination, but this precaution was not taken by multiple caregivers in the afternoon. NOT IDEAL BUT PASSABLE --Exersaucers and various toys not cleaned after use by a child. Not even after use by three different children. When the babies aren't sick at all, this is relatively harmless, but if ONE baby had a runny nose, then all the babies that came into contact with the exersaucers would be exposed to illness. --Overuse of swings--there was one child who was napping in a swing for two hours. He was then given a bottle (he was able to hold it up himself), then diapered, then placed back in the swing. No other activities were encouraged. Basically, this child spent about 3-4 hours in the swing. --One caregiver was feeding one child some dry snacks, and while she did that, she ate some herself. --There is toy sharing--each child's toys are stored separately in their respective containers, but often there was toy sharing (i.e. the contents of two children's toy boxes distributed across four children). read more

I will never forget the horrible experience we have with Prime time edgewater location. The Education director Peninnah gave us really nasty attitude - I can't believe that's the attitude of an educator. Shame on you. When a little child as young as 2 years old did not act as they expect, instead of working with the parents to try to figure out what happen, all they did is to label him as an issue and try to get rid of him. They won't reject you directly, but they just make it extremely difficult for you and you wonder why you want to take your loved one to a nasty place like this so we left.
