Even after that, we continued with Prospect for after-school programs, that my children benefited from tremendously. This school is always coming up with new initiatives - cooking classes, dance classes, outdoor gardens, German or Spanish language programs - it's always fun, new and interesting! We can't say enough about the loving and caring teachers that my children were lucky to be nurtured by. Everyone at Prospect treats us like family. My children have long since graduated, but I keep coming there for the Moms Dance classes every week! The program at the school is full of hands-on education and learning made fun. Going outside in any weather is a must - great way to make our kids resilient and unafraid. The kids have Heritage projects to make, family days, Pancake week, everything you'd like for your kids to learn about your culture. We love Prospect Academy with all our hearts!

Sophie Sayaque at ABC Languages has been my daughter's French instructor for close to 7 years. My…read moredaughter (now 18) is going off to college and will have her last French lesson this week. Sophie is an AMAZING language instructor!!! She uses art, music, cooking, literature and film to teach French and also provides VERY entertaining insights into French culture and attitudes. Just to illustrate her teaching style, several of my daughter's lessons consisted of cooking classes where Sophie would provide an ingredient list for authentic French recipes ahead of time and then at lesson time, guide my daughter (via zoom) through the cooking process, while speaking entirely in French. That's another thing that sets Sophie apart from other instructors--she mainly communicates in French. Listening mostly to spoken French and gathering understanding from context clues, really enabled my daughter to become familiar with oral French. Two things point to how spectacular Sophie's French teaching method really works. First, my daughter, who is entering college as a freshman this fall (2026) is very motivated to attain French fluency. She placed easily into an upper level French class just by taking classes with Sophie (never having taken French in school). Second, we took a trip to France in spring of 2026, and traveled through several rural areas where English is not well spoken. My daughter was able to understand and speak the French language with considerable ease. Practicing French during lessons with Sophie--without using English really makes a difference! On a personal note, we know well that Sophie is kind, hilarious, focused and driven. When you sign up to learn French from her, you will learn French!!! My daughter is very sad to have to end her language journey with Sophie, as she goes off to college, but intends to keep in touch with this amazing instructor and friend!

At a very practical level, the hours are great and work very well with our work schedules. The teachers are very approachable and have been open to working with me with any concern I have had about my child. I love the Nurtury's focus on building independence and practical life skills- I see my son learning to do things on his own like feeding himself and cleaning up after himself. They have added new and fun things like spirit weeks, celebrating traditions from different cultures and religions and music jams. The communication has been excellent since there has been a new director. We are kept up to date with changes and how these changes are being addressed.
