My older son has gone through little years right before the pandemic hit (he was 4) and now we have our second son (2yo) attending while his older brother is in kindergarten. This daycare has become part of the family. They are warm and welcoming and I always feel confident that my son is in good hands and is HAPPY! It's so nice to get updates on the app with a picture or that he's napping or his activity. He has flourished here and I couldn't be happier! read more

My daughter started at Little Years Daycare when she was 2 months old, in the Infant Room. She graduated this year from the Pre-K program. I only have wonderful things to say about Ms. Danielle and her caring staff. They have treated my daughter as if she was their family. Each and every teacher she interacted with over the last 5+ years, was very loving and caring. The entire staff is also very professional and excellent in performing their job. Yesterday was my daughter's last day at daycare. On our way back home, she told me that she was very sad to leave Little Years but told me that she will go and visit Ms. Danielle and other teachers all the time. As parents, we did not have to worry about my daughter reaching her developmental milestones (walking, talking, potty training, getting rid of pacifier, learning to write, spellings etc, etc......and the list goes on). Ms. Danielle and her staff took care of each and every milestone. After dropping her at the daycare everyday in the morning we were free to totally focus on our work. We shall miss Little Years, a lot. We love that place. read more

Little Years Daycare is the worst place to send your child. The staff does not stay for long periods of time, and there are always new teachers. My son has a peanut allergy, and they would not accomodate hos special needs. I found an opened candy bar laying on the counter, and they did nothing about it. He was an infant at the time. The staff also got became overly involved in my personal life, and caused problems within my family. I was late with one payment, and they threatened to kick him out of the program. My son would come home with wet diapers, a diaper rash, and food all over his face and clothing. They would not allow me to see my son during the day on my lunch break, and they wouldn't move him to the toddler room at the appropriate time. I did myself and my son a huge favor by pulling him out od the program. Don't send your child to this program. read more

What I witnessed at Little Years was a little beyond my imagination. The teachers seemed to be extremely afraid of the owner. My child was often hungry at the end of the day, when the teachers promised me that my child was fed one hour before the pick up time. I found red rashes around my child's private area. My hypothesis was that the children were left "buckled in" for extended period of time where they tried to break free but could not. While I am not 100% sure about this hypothesis because I was not there for the whole day to count the number of hours that they were "bucked in", I never saw that type of rash before I sent my child to Little Years Day care. Overall, my child's behavior changed (not to the positive direction unfortunately) during the period of attending Little Years. Although I appreciated that the fact that the cost of this childcare facility was less than other places, I am not sure if Little Years is the right facility for my child. It would have been better if the teachers were allowed to hold the children when they cry, instead of being told that they needed to be left in the cribs, like I witnessed on several occasions. I wish the above was not true, but I am compelled to state what I saw and my experiences. read more

First of all let me say - not every daycare is perfect for every family. My son started at Little Years when he was 9 months old. My daughter started when she was 4. In the past 2 years - I have had times when I was frustrated - I would vent to friends and "hypothesize" and then I would talk to the Director or the Assistant Director. Every time I would wish that I had taken the time to address my issues with Danielle and Stacey before I allowed myself to get worked up. It's a stressful thing leaving your baby with someone else - and I had a lot to learn about how to ask the right questions. But, they are always willing to talk through your concerns! They want their families to be happy. They can also be fairly tough with their staff - but, honestly, I can't imagine a harder job than running a daycare - being responsible for staff and families and babies. That being said - I have also witnessed really thoughtful, kind interactions between the Director and her staff. My daughter was well prepared for kindergarten by her year in room 9. She still stops in to give Miss Bri a hug when we drop off my son. My son gives everyone hugs and says "I love you" as we leave "school". I have seen a whole table of children (unprompted) get up from their table to give Danielle a hug - just because she happened to stick her head in the room to get a room count from the teacher. My little man absolutely thrived as a baby (no strange rashes and he was always in either a bouncy or in the little baby gated area playing with a teacher when I would pick him up - unless he was actually napping in his crib). He continues to be warm, loving, smiley and happy! He has learned to walk, feed himself, sing songs and talk (he's one of very few not potty trained for his age group - but that's because I'm in no rush). (We love Miss Lacey, Miss Jessica, Miss Cindy, Miss Kim and Miss Hannah). Also - get to know the families who are there. My 2.5 year old daughter has been attending Little Years Daycare for a year now. She has been in daycares since she was 14 weeks old. We tried other daycares in the area and she just simply wasn't adjusting to the teachers or centers the way she had when we had lived in the city. When we finally transitioned to Little Years, they not only provided a really warm and loving environment, but it challenged my daughter intellectually. She has made so many strides from being potty trained by 2.5 years old, to learning about so many different things and her speech exploded the minute she started here. Most of all, at this age, I wanted her to be socialized and loved by her teachers and friends. The kids all immediately attack me with hugs when I go to pick up my daughter. I can attest that each and every teacher provides her with that love and support so that she prefers to be at daycare and with her friends. Other Pluses: This daycare provide Breakfast, Lunch and snacks - so key for working families. It's one of the cheapest daycares in the neighborhood. The daycare provides activities for kids such as apple picking, holiday shows and book fairs. There are two large playgrounds and ample parking. Lastly, it follows the Mother Goose curriculum which provides a structured day that incorporates age appropriate learning. Things to improve: I'd like to see them incorporate tablets/ipads instead of using old school papers about my kid's day and I'd like to be able to pay tuition online with autopay. These small updates would make it even better! Either way, I am confident that my daughter has found her forever home until she goes to kindergarten. I absolutely love this day care facility. My 10 month old son refused a bottle at his previous day care and on the first day here, he drank two whole bottles! I honestly believe this was his way of telling me he's happy here. Every time I come to pick him up, he's either smiling, laughing or doing something fun like listening to a story being read aloud. The teachers are very calm, very kind and very attentive to the children. They were very supportive of me when we first made the switch by providing a transitional period to help him adjust. They are also happy to take phone calls whenever I want to check in. At the end of the day, they always invite me in with a conversation about the day my son had, which is exactly what I want. I couldn't be happier in the choice I made with this facility. read more

My girls started at Little Years when my eldest was 18 months and the baby was 7 weeks old. It is a well run facility and extremely clean! The infant room was wonderful! It's not easy leaving your little one at such a young age. They taught her how to sign, and now at just 18 months, she speaks full sentences! The cutest is when she says and signs please (peeeees). My eldest daughter started there after leaving a private daycare that had only one other child. She was extremely shy when she started. In just 1 short year, she broke out of her shell, made wonderful little friends, was potty trained, learned her colors, numbers, days of the week, month and the seasons. She is addicted to brushing her teeth, as they always brushed their teeth after lunch. She excelled beyond my wildest dreams. It was a VERY sad day when we had to pull them from Little Years! We moved over the summer and it was just too far of a commute! We've made lovely friends and the children still get together on weekends. I highly recommend Little Years for your little ones. read more

To Parents, I had two children in this daycare one for two years and another for 4 years. The owners and teachers provide love, great education and great programs for the kids. I felt very safe leaving my children here from early morning to late day. The facility is well maintained and superclean. They also have an outdoor playground so kids can get their exercise. We just got done with pee wee prom and graduation for my son so special. All the holidays the staff does special events for the children and all the other parents are great and have become some our childrens friends out of school and we have met some great friends as well. I highly suggest you place your children here you will not be dissapointed. Enjoy them when they are young. read more

My daughter started at LY when she was 14 weeks old in 2004 and graduated room 9 almost 5 years later. Our experience was amazing from day one when I handed her off in the infant room. I was a terrified new mom and they put me at ease immediately. I stopped in for feedings and diaper changes daily. As the years passed we developed some amazing family friendships with classmates and the staff - still keep in touch after all these years. My daughter is now a freshman in HS and I believe her positive experience in those early years has made her a beautiful butterfly fully equipped with life skills both scholastically and emotionally to allow her follow her dreams. I cannot say enough about the owners and staff - a truly special start for our girl! We were blessed! read more

My son has attended Little Years since he was six weeks old and I could not possibly be more pleased with the loving care and educationally stimulating environment Little Years has provided to him. I am a working mother whose company has only the state-mandated minimum maternity leave policy, so I was only able to take off six weeks after my son was born. Needless to say, I was terrified about the thought of leaving my infant child with someone other than myself. So I did what any mother in my position would do: I researched every childcare option under the sun and put potential providers under the microscope until I found one I could feel good about. Interestingly, I had originally been dead set on hiring a nanny, until I did more research and discovered that I could find more public information on day care centers than I could for individual nannies. For instance, the New York State registry of day cares lists which centers are registered, how many teachers they have, how many children, and whether they have had any infractions (and if so, what those infractions were). I couldn't find a comparable site for nannies, and didn't feel comfortable taking an agency's word as to the background, skills and reputation of their staff. So, I decided to explore day care centers further. After reviewing the NYS site, I narrowed my search down to a handful of places, and then went to each one's website. That led me to narrow my search down to two places: Little Years and Robin's Nest. Living in Tarrytown, both centers were reasonably close so my decision would be based on interviewing and observing the centers firsthand. Both centers were very professional and took my requests to interview them seriously. I was greeted courteously by both centers and both had strong security. Both had attractive facilities that were of course clean with no obvious health hazards. However, a few things set Little Years apart and made my decision very easy for me: 1) When speaking with Ms. Danielle, one of the owners of Little Years, I felt that she understood what an important and difficult decision this was for me. The way that she explained what a serious decision it was for parents to place their angels in her care and how that knowledge guides and informs everything they do at Little Years really struck me. 2) Like any parent of an infant, I was terrified of SIDS. One of my great fears with putting my child in daycare was that he would be left alone in a crib and no one would notice if he just stopped breathing. Not possible at Little Years. At Little Years, they assign one of the nursery staff to WATCH THE BABIES WHILE THEY SLEEP. I was so impressed by this, I could have hired them on this basis alone. 3) I felt that Little Years had more instructional programs, even starting from 6 weeks old. They are always playing appropriate music and reading to the babies, plus they teach the babies sign language. Now that my son is older (13 months) there are structured activities for the kids. Every day I get a report saying what he did, such as circle time or puzzles or coloring dinosaurs. Those reports make me feel like I know what he did all day and that I was somehow a part of it, which is something I know all working moms struggle with. Now, Little Years is such an important part of our lives we wouldn't think about moving away (despite my long commute) because it would mean pulling my son out of Little Years. Our son is so happy, and they do so many wonderful things to show that they value our trust and support of them. For example, every holiday, be it Valentines Day, Halloween, or Christmas they have a little present for the kids and for the parents. I will cherish the little handprint Christmas ornament and gingerbread figurine with my son's picture in it forever. If you are considering Little Years for your child, you will not be disappointed. I recommend it to every part I know. read more

My daugher has been going to Little Years for almost two years. I have been extremely happy with this facility; it's very clean and well run. I've always felt that my daughter is in a safe place with caring staff. She is learning alot. I really like the curriculum and she enjoys talking about what she learned at the end of the day.
