This campus might be a commuter school and dining might be subpar with limited options, but this school definitely provides value education at a fraction of the tuition cost. My favorite place on campus was probably Wang Center and the SAC/union. I also worked part time. To be fair, this campus is located DEEP in LI and does not have a lot of things to do. I still met many wonderful people and had a decent time.

This school is not for profit and very much cares for kids. Your kids are not going to go here and…read morelearn Mandarin and violin at the ages of 2 and 3 like some other places but they are going to learn how to play, interact with other kids, and also learn some things like letters that will help prepare them for what is now a very demanding UPK and Kindergarten system. UPK is now 5 days a week 5 hours a day and the kids are expected to learn how to read and write to some extent along with a lot of other requirements. So this program is the right balance of play to let kids be kids while preparing them for the social adjustment. It is a very reasonable priced and very caring school. My daughter is now going there, and my son being very young for the class was quite difficult to handle. However, the school took care of him and never complained. His teachers still see me around and ask how he is doing. Mrs Johansson (the head of the preschool) is great as well and knows every single child and parent in the school by name. You feel like you are a family with them. Make sure to sign your kids ASAP in January/February because their classes fill up quick.

Both sessions were extremely informative, with quite a bit of learning packed into the session but at the same time in a very relaxed environment. There was no pressure in the class, and the atmosphere was very friendly. You can tell that the teachers are carefully chosen and are very skilled with helping others learned. From the very beginning the teachers had a planned agenda, and the learning started right away. For the Korean class, in just one hour I learned how to count, how to introduce myself (age and name), and what my interests are. The class was the perfect size to feel cozy...around 10 ppl. For the Calligraphy class, I learned how to hold a brush, and with a few minutes was learning how to paint from 1 to 10, and I learned the basic 8 strokes found at the core of the Chinese written language. Special mention should also go to Tian, for being an amazing host. He is super organized, and very welcoming.
