I went there on a Saturday and it was the same quiet, peaceful place it's always been. You can get so much work (or studying) done there, especially with the free and speedy wifi. They have comfortable chairs, outlets for your electronics, and clean bathrooms. They also have a separate children's room. And the view is nice also, and it's completely free! This is the kind of place I'd give a big donation to if I were in the position to do so, but they do have a donation jar, which I will make sure to add to next time.

Bathrooms were clean and the staff and other studies were all respectful. There's free and reliable WiFi ... and its free to work here!! After a study session, I'd recommend treating yourself to a lovely walk along the river, explore battery park, or Brookfield mall (there's a food court!)

When I first discovered the Troubled Sleep bookstore, I was elated: any bookstore but especially a…read moreused bookstore opening - and just a few blocks away from where I live! - was great news. And I found a book I'd been craving - an out-of-print selection of DH Lawrence letters with an intro by Aldous Huxley. The place was cheery and inviting: I would at that point have said "Definitely 5 stars!" But then I heard that the owner is at least partially stocking his shelves by removing books from the local "little libraries" where people exchange books. These are meant to offer free books to passersby! They are NOT meant to be snatched up and sold at a profit! They are a beautiful example of people taking steps, however small, out of the business world. I will not return to Troubled Sleep unless I hear that the owner has sworn off this method of getting books for his store.

This lovely looking library box is in fabulous condition in the back end of this residential…read moreneighborhood. Hard to miss this red box with white trim and shingles. There is no problem stopping here on this slow street to browse the library. Exterior and interior are very good and they have a light inside which is cool. Two shelves are neatly stacked and almost full. Today's content was mostly children's books, paperbacks and one hardcovers. The paperbacks look like beach reading material.
