I visited Miami on a solo trip. The Little Havana Tour takes you through 9 stops in 2 hours which include authentic food and Cuban coffee, what a treat! It was a group of 10- 12 of us. Its all culturally narrated with stops that include cigar factory, Domino Park, Callejon Del Gallo, Ice Cream, Cuban Memorial, classic cars, and the theatre. NOTE: As self-professed coffee snob (Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kona Hawaiian, ect) this was added to my list! Less is best when it comes to Cuban coffee. Very rich and powerful little cup. The locals warned us to sip slow, woke me right up and offered good advice on adding sweetened condensed milk. Cost 5/5 $69.99 As a self-proclaimed high low girl, this tour was right up my alley. A good cultural tour which included food, drinks, historical facts, and opportunities to socialize. I also purchased food from the bakery, cigars, Cuban coffee, drinks, and souvenirs. I had plenty of leftovers and was full when it ended. This tour is included on the "Top 10 Food Tours in the U.S." for a reason, worth the cost. Location was central and rich with cultural from the elders in Domino Park playing dominions to the colorful roosters nearby. Great experience, I learned a lot. Apparently Gloria Estefan and her husband owns half the city, Love that for them. read more

What an absolutely amazing experience. They start the tour by saying there is an mixture of delicious food from a variety of backgrounds now. They also give you a very good history of Cuba me how little Havana. El Pub for empanadas and Cuban coffee Old Havana for Mojitos and Green Plantain cups or a Cuban Sandwich for the pork eaters Los Pinarenos, Fruteria for Sugar Cane Drink (Guarapo) Churro Mania Azucar Ice Cream topped with guava Having only been on two food tours now this sets the bar very high. If you travel to Miami, you have to check out this tour. This was our first trip to Miami, so we decided to check out this tour. It was the highlight of our trip. Our tour guide, Dayana, was amazing! I really enjoyed this tour and glad it worked out this way, since my original plan was to tour the Wynwood District. Danny was our tour guide and as others indicated he is very engaging and knowledgeable. The tour is a nice mix of history setting the stage for Cubans moving to Miami when Castro deposed Batista. You also get a nice sense of the Cuban culture transplanted into Miami. For example, you visit cigar rolling shops, bakeries, and a club. I have no misconception that much of these businesses are here largely to entertain us tourists. However, it is still an entertaining way to spend part of the day. The food part of the tour ended at El Cristo. The food was tasty and you get plenty to eat. It's about what I would expect on a tour. I think you pay a bit of a premium for the convenience of having the tour company manage this for you, but this is to be expected. Overall I would recommend this tour and it gives you a little bit of a cultural/educational opportunity in Miami. read more

Very picturesque look at the Miami Art Deco District. We toured the visitor center for a $5 donation to the Miami Preservation League. Wish the gift shop had been open but they did have a couple souvenir items placed out front for purchase. Only wish we had time to do the walking tour this go around. read more

Our Monday tour (NOTE the day of week) was combined with the little Havana cultural tour. We walked the plaza and heard about the history of Cubans in both Miami and Cuba. Danny was our guide. Both tours stopped at a fruit/vegetable store where we sampled cane sugar juice. We moved on to a bakery and had Cuban coffee (smaller than a shot glass). We went to a cigar shop. They were supposed to demonstrate cigar rolling, but they didn't. Next we went to clothing store - way overpriced. On to the Ball & Chain bar - excellent atmosphere, but we weren't there long enough to order a drink. We moved on to a ice cream place that gave us a tiny spoon sample. Again, not really there long enough to order. We crossed to the Domino Park to finish the cultural tour. The food proceeds to the restaurant next to Domino Park for a good sized portion of beef, yucca, rice. We had the option when booking to add Mojitos for $10, but I figured we'd get them on our own during the vacation, so we didn't get them. So, remember when I said note the day of the tour being Monday? The following day we did a combo city, boat, Everglades tour, and the city tour took us to Little Havana (aka Calle Ocho aka 8th Street), and much to our dismay, when we got off the bus to walk around for 20 minutes, we parked next to a bar that advertised $5 Mojitos on Mondays. It was a block from our last stop of the LH tour on Monday. It would have been nice to know that the day before. I know the point of all these stops is to have people on the tour but additional items (or anything), but the stores need to be a little more giving than a thimble of coffee, a pea sized sample of ice cream, etc. Overall, would recommend, but I suppose you could just as easily walk up and down Calle Ocho yourself and have a pretty decent time. read more

Took a tour of Little Havana with Miguel this week and had a great time exploring the neighborhood, and getting a lot of insights about the history of the neighborhood, the Cuban people, and a little taste of culture as well. The tour was 2 hours long and it flew by quickly. We started off at the Bay of Pigs Monument on Calle Ocho and talked a little bit about the history of the neighborhood/how the Cuban immigrants came to take over the area, and then we moved to a few shops (staying mostly in the shade which was much appreciated). We visited Los Pinarenos Fruteria where we sampled guava juice and guava filled pastries (delicious), then moved on to The Havana Shirt Store which sold Guyaberas (Cuban shirts), Guantanamera Cafe where we sampled Cuban coffee (very strong!) and ended the tour next to Domino Cafe. Miguel said he had only been hosting tours for a few weeks but he did an excellent job and I left feeling like I knew the area a little better than when I started (also his food recommendations of Azucar and Old's Havana were on point! This tour was so good! Frequently, I try to avoid doing tours, as I find many of them kind of cheesy. Art Deco Tours was great, as we learned so much about the Art Deco buildings in South Beach, the history of some of the interesting people who lived and played in South Beach throughout the years, and got a nice lay of the land of our home base while we were in Miami. This was by far the most memorable tour I experienced during my vacation in Miami! James, our tour guide, is extremely knowledgeable in both Art Deco and the history of South Beach. I learned so many "hidden" secrets and understanding about Art Deco architecture. If you want to truly explore this city, and are even remotely interested in Art Deco...do yourself a favor and sign up for this tour! I should mention, I am reviewing the 10 am Art Deco Walking tour. I took the tour during the last week of May. Even though it was early in the day, it was still very hot. James, our guide, made sure we were able to utilize as much shade as possible. Part of the tour involves going inside the different buildings, so you can escape the heat a bit. Don't forget the sunscreen and a bottle of water. Absolutely fantastic tour! read more

Let me just say, Danny was one of best walking tour guides I've met. He kept it personable, educational, and despite the rain, super fun! I highly recommend this company and their personnel because of the connections in little Havana, we couldn't walk 30 feet without someone saying " Hey Danny!". We walked through a few local bars and one of them had a band setting up, Danny walked in and had them play for us and it was a surreal experience! Danny is the man! We had planned on taking a cruise to Cuba and then unfortunately someone decided that Americans cant do that anymore so this was one way of trying to infuse Cuba into our trip. We booked the tour 4 days out and they were able to accommodate the 10 of us. Though transportation isn't provided to and from the starting point, you really dont have to worry about anything besides that. Our walking tour took us down many streets in Little Havana and we all left stuffed after the many spots serving fresh juice, pastries, coffee and then a family style lunch with many things to try. Oh my gosh, can I give the Little Havana Walking Tour, and Danny a 10+?? Danny was literally the BEST tour guide I've ever encountered, for several reasons; 1. Super knowledgeable about the area/history etc..And just very interesting and easy to listen to. 2. Friendly and constantly speaking with locals. It was very apparent that he was a loved member of the community, which made the tour extremely authentic. 3. Not only did he deliver historic and insightful information about the neighborhood, he also took us to visit local stores/establishments that have a rich history in the neighborhood. This was my favorite part of the tour! Visits to the following businesses, including historic accounts of, and introductions into the daily life on Calle Ocho: *Los Pinarenos-the Fruteria with fresh fruit juice samples, *Casa del Tabaco-the cigar shop and exhibition of cigar rolling, *Cubaocho Museum and Bar-to see the lovely art and interesting decor, *Ball and Chain Club- to see a historic venue, to hear some local music and witness the making of the BEST mojitos I've ever had(we went back later!),  *Azsucar Bakery-to try guava pastries and cafe con leche, *The Havana Shirt Store- a local clothing store for men and women. These spots gave us a taste of the local culture first hand, AND it prompted my group to go back and visit the majority of these establishments AFTER the tour was over, and supply patronage and money spending at those businesses. I cannot say enough about Danny, and this tour in general. I will definitely go to some travel sites and leave this same review! And recommend to any of our friends who travel to Miami. read more
