I am as blind as a bat and the contact prescription is so high that it is not commonly carried by most eye clinics. Oftentimes my lenses need to be special ordered. So if I'm traveling out of town and happen to lose or tear a lens, then lose or tear my backup lens - I typically find myself in big trouble. Fortunately, I called Norman Eye Associates and they saved the day. I explained my situation and the very friendly and helpful receptionist told me that she could check and see if they carried my lenses. It turned out they did. She told me she'd have the lenses waiting for me up front. Coincidentally, their office was within walking distance from where I was staying. I guess I never noticed it because I never needed an eye doctor in Norman before. When I got to the office, they knew it was me right away. I was prepared to pay for the lenses but was told these were samples they had in stock so there would be no charge. I was pretty surprised about that and was very impressed with how helpful and friendly they were with me. It had been almost 3 years since I last had an eye exam so I decided I'd make an appointment and get one since their service had been nothing short of stellar. I'm accustomed to making my eye appointments a few weeks in advance, so I was happy to hear that they could see me, a new patient, as soon as the very next day. The fees for the exam were very reasonable. I believe it came out to cost around $80. I don't have insurance coverage for optical appointments, and I pay out of pocket. Some eye doctors hesitate to take uninsured patients, but this place had no problem with that and got me in much quicker than I expected. The next day I arrived for my appointment and was seen right on time. There was no waiting and the staff was very organized and on point with getting patients in and out. The doctor was warm and personable and he seemed like he genuinely cared about seeing me and addressing all my questions. He suggested two different lenses to try and provided me with samples of both. After a week or so of trying them both I placed an order. My lenses arrived within the week which is much sooner than I usually wait for my contacts to arrive. They called me the day they arrived and pick up went smoothly. I like my new lenses and I can't say enough great things about this eye clinic. It is a top notch place with lovely people and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of contacts or glasses.

My optometrist, Dr. Bryce Mayes at Premier Eyecare in Edmond told me Dr. Chris was his referral for eye surgery. The office staff is amazing. Friendly, happy and caring, I always felt at home in the office. The support staff is so professional and Dr. Hummel has a wonderful bedside manner. He always made me feel comfortable and I trusted him all the way. I had some problems and he never missed a beat. He knew exactly what to do and how to continue until I had perfect vision. He is definitely a perfectionist and won't take less than perfection in his work. I am so glad I was referred to Hummel Eye Associates and Dr. Chris Hummel. I was a patient for 8 years until recently. I never had any issue until a few weeks ago. During…read moremy annual appointment in November Dr. Glaze said I needed a contact for my right eye but have only wore one in my left eye for many years. When I tried the sample contact in the office I couldn't see anything so Dr Glaze said to just stay with wearing just my one contact. However, before Memorial Day my vision got worse so I called the office and said to order the other contact. When I received them it was for my left eye, but I wanted to be certain that it was indeed for that eye. I called the office to confirm and the girl said she would check with him and would get back with me. She never called back, so I called again and left a message on their answering machine, which states they will call back within a day. Again, didn't hear from anyone, so I called yet again because if I opened the contacts and they still didn't work I would be out the amount I already paid. I called and talked to another person and had to explain the same thing to her, and was told Dr Glaze would be back the Tuesday after Memorial Day so I waited until late Wednesday to call. I then spoke to their office manager and had to tell him the same thing and that I was having headaches and wasn't comfortable driving because my vision wasn't great. By now I was frustrated because I was then told Dr Glaze would not be back for another week . The office manager sent me more contacts that didn't work either. So, I called again and was told that they had some other contacts for me to try and I told the girl in my text that the contacts the office manger sent still didn't work, so I drove over 30 minutes one way to the office and when I got there they were the same contacts the office manager sent me, Clearly I was not happy and the office manager told me I was being difficult and rude to the staff, yet at no time did anyone offer to let me see another doctor, and they didn't even know when Dr. Glaze would be back, so if they want to say I'm was difficult, so be it. My husband runs a law office and his staff would know exactly when he would be back and they would offer a client that needed help the opportunity to see another attorney.
