I have been sending my toddler here since she was 18 months. This is a "hands off" kind of PDO. You are not required to do anything but drop your child, provide lunch, a sleeping mat and any comfort items and lunch and water for your child. I have been a part of PDOs that require attendance to fundraisers, snacks provided for class etc. nothing wrong with that! But I do like that I get a few hours to myself and don't have to worry about added responsibilites. The only is that the second year my daughter came, she had 3 different teachers. She didn't seem phased, but it did bother me that the teacher turnover rate was so rapid. I imagine that is hard to avoid in childcare. Tuition is good (and standard across the board in comparison to other PDOs in the area). Amount of time is good. My child feels loved...that is SO good. And I feel like she is safe. Very high teacher turn over rate. 5 teachers have left since September. The classrooms are not set up in centers like a typical classroom. They do not have weekly educational themes or units, like "All about me" "Winter" "MLK" "Dinosaurs" "space" etc instead they do sock day, waffle day potato day??? They don't use any curriculum, the teachers are not cpr certified, no sensory tables in classrooms, no monthly training for staff, parents have to pay for weeks they are not in school yet staff isn't paid for holidays. They didn't inform parents when there was an murder suspect on the preschool grounds they 2 weeks later found in a shed next door to the school. Recently took both children out of this program because the teachers and director claimed that I was not sending enough food for my 10 month old son---four-8oz bottles and food for a period of 5 hours! The teachers told me they had to wake him up from a nap so that another child could have the bed. These teachers complained they had to hold my son all the time and weren't able to eat their lunches until later in the day. The Director put my son in this class and then stated the class wasn't "conducive" to his needs. This facility is NOT LISCENSED by the STATE OF TN! read more
