We would take overcrowded buses to horrible trips and we would eat the disgusting and spoiled camp "lunches". Next, the counslers. The counslers are poorly selected and act like assholes towards us. They also think they have the right to take away electronic items from us such phones and handhelds when we were just innocently using them to play a game or so hi to a friend. They would force kids to triple up in a small 2 person seat so they can get their own seat normally meant for 3 people. They would force us to participate in things we don't want to do and treat us like 2 year olds. Every year, Twin Oaks goes to a broadway show and does a workshop in the morning before the show. The workshops are very boring and nobody enjoys it. If you try to sit out the counselors being the a-holes they are, will start yelling and they even made a couple kids CRY by yelling at them to participate. Also that day, we had stale bagels for lunch! Figures... I highly recommend NOT sending your children to this camp for day camp or the travel program unless, you want your child to be harassed by the so called counselors, sent on terrible trips, eat stale lunches and be packed into overcrowded mini buses. Even though the trips look like and sound like a lot of fun, the camp always figures out how to ruin it! They can't do a single right and they are very cheap!

Cool new Ninja Academy gym in Freeport, NY…read more Under the watchful eye of Drew Drechsel, season 11 American Ninja Warrior winner, this new franchisee is off to a great start. Many of the stations/obstacles mirror those on the American Ninja Warrior show including The Wall. Everyone on staff was super friendly and most importantly organized even though it was a big day and there was a line was out the door to get new warriors registered. Also got a chance to meet with and talk to Drew Drechsel so that was way cool.

My son has had the opportunity to observe and experience higher belts demonstrating kindness and leadership in the dojang, as well as having his own opportunities to demonstrate the same to the lower belts. If a student is having a tricky time, even during the promotion test, Master Kang works to build the kids up and make them feel great. I highly recommend Champion's Taekwondo in Merrick for both the high level of skill but the kindness and sense community in the class that he fosters.

Follow the signs. Thereis parking to the side of the main house. This visit had a tour of plants . There is a pond, fire pit and picnic tables throughout the area.it is a nature preserve park with many native plants along with some for sale. I suggest wearing a hat and sunscreen. While there are paths, sturdy shoes or work boots are good too along with a bottle of water. I did sera sign for bathrooms as well. They have a compost pile on the side.if you happen to have peelings from vegetables feel free to drop them off on your visit and learn how they make black gold for the soil.

We had a group of about 15 Cub scouts there finishing the ferns and animal related topic badge. The lady who gave a lesson about how to track or discover animals around us during our daily life, but the lesson was in a small room with no AC. The boys were not interested in the discussion at all. The session was informative to the parents, but the lady seemed unable to handle younger kids. We then took a nature walk outside and the boys were very into the hike. The trail was clearly marked and easy to access by foot. Parking lot was relatively small. Overall it was an okay experience.

Good communication, punctual and polite. Some of the staff are local Bellmore residents. They take care of my daughter as if she was their own. I really love the program and appreciate all that my daughter has learned so much in the past 1.5 yrs, educationally and socially. She was a Covid baby so it's nice to see how she has matured and grown thanks to the support of teachers and staff.
