We went to the 2 GM dealerships in town and they were only able to see me in 2-3 weeks, even though they knew we were 1200 miles from home. Their only recommendation was to go to the Toyota dealership across the street. We were lucky enough to find Dayton Transmission. We told Robert over the phone what our situation was and he told us to come in and see what he could do. Although he couldn't fix the problem he was able to do a transmission flush and change the filter which would at least help get us home. We asked him if there was anything near by where we could walk to eat or if there was a taxi service. He said there wasn't. But beyond convenience, I have always been super amazed with them as mechanics. They are awesome! The shop is so clean, I swear you could eat off the floor. When I took my truck in for a scheduled tuneup, they called after about an hour. The scheduled maintenance manual said my O2 sensors were supposed to be replaced. They called because the sensors are a ridiculous $250 a piece. I really, really appreciated the head's up, and their feedback that the sensors would likely be fine for another year or so. Later, I took the truck in for a scheduled maintenance light. Again,they said that I was fine, and that they had done that maintenance last time I was in. I really, REALLY appreciate the honesty. It would have been easy to take advantage and charge, but they are professional and friendly.

This guy showed up in 30 minutes. It took him about an hour cause it was freaking cold, but he charged me for less than an hours work plus the $3.50 for the male pigtail. There was no other service charge. I don't know if that is always the case or it's just because I was pretty close....but he's honest and he's good at what he does. He also heard my glad hand gasket leaking air and replaced it at no charge. Good to know that there are people out there still willing to do a good job at a more than fair price!!!!
