We thought that the mini cup we were given was a kid's hot chocolate, but after my son tasted it, he grimaced and said, "This hot chocolate is not good." It turns out, we grabbed a double shot of espresso instead of the hot chocolate! Oh, whatta mixup. So, now my 10-year-old kid knows what coffee tastes like, and vows to never drink coffee ever again. He did eventually get his hot chocolate and enjoyed it a lot more than espresso. I wanted to get a little something sweet, but when we visited in the late morning, there was nothing really in the display cases except a couple of muffins. This doesn't seem like the place to find a lot of baked goods, anyway. The restrooms here are something else. There are two very small rooms with toilets, and then there's a communal sink around the corner. It's not immediately apparent that there's a place to wash your hands that's around the corner, so I'm hoping that people figure it out.

It was a tad light on the fixins so I was a still a bit hungry afterwards. But it came with a side of either chips, fruit or applesauce, and I took the chips to have as a snack later on the road. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort and care into their shop, and the energy is upbeat, though the lighting and flooring make it feel like you're in an office. Despite that, the coffee was solid, and it was very quiet early on a Monday morning while all the students were in school. Definitely an ideal place to get some work done!

We sat at a table in the adjoining room, which was a CBD shop, And I was instantly greeted by Briana. Sadly, Briana is going to be moving away soon, but it was such a joy to meet her. What a fantastic personality! Meeting her made for a fantastic trip to this coffee shop. On top of that, I was meeting a cousin, who I had not seen in over 30 years, who happened to know Briana. You can find it in the basement level below the Newman Center through the door off the parking lot on the south side of the building down a few stairs. There are a few parking spots available just a few steps away. This place is also late enough to study which is great, and they also have guest WiFi available. Besides being close to campus, they also accept Mounty Bounty! Inside you'll find a cozy little spot with pretty murals and cozy, warm furniture. There's plenty of space for studying or hanging out with a group, with couches, tables for two, or a bigger table for a group. The whole place is very clean, including the restroom which is a plus. The baristas are all super friendly and very helpful, offering suggestions when we were unsure of what to order. They have many options for drinks, including your standard coffees, cold brew, and specialty drinks. The lavender vanilla latte was delicious and i would definitely order again. I got the drink iced and the whipped cream on top tasted fresh and homemade. I love that you can buy a big bottle of cold brew to go in cute glass containers, which you can bring back to fill with a discount. Everyone i was with also enjoyed their drinks. The food looks really good, though this visit we didn't get to try any. Options include both sweet and savory pastries as well as sandwiches.
