I love the location of this place. It's sort of hidden. It's sits below street level. You must walk down a set of stairs to access their front entrance. Staff was friendly. They immediately greeted me after entering. I ordered an iced chai and they made it sugar free. It hit the spot! I thought it was a really good chai. They offer a fair amount of seating. Nice place to hang for a bit and chill like I did. Noise level is average. Place is clean and prices are fair. I would return here for another chair or a coffee beverage. read more

Little Sister is a small, charming coffee shop located down a flight of stairs and under a few other shops. From the exterior, it may look unassuming, but stepping inside you are greeted by bright, cheery tile and their signature seafoam colour palette. The baristas were friendly and helpful, the service was quick, and the food and coffee were both delicious. A lot of the time, a milk drink like this can have a pretty flat flavour profile, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that Little Sister's espresso shots have a nice complexity and nuance that shines through the creamy milk. Over the course of a few days in Winnipeg, I was here more than once and got multiple drinks both times and left with two bags of beans, for myself and a friend. This place is small but I like the decor. I tried the Honey Lavender latte. It was kind of bitter. The coffee barista lady said more syrup might make it sweeter but it didn't. Thankfully there was a little station right next to the big counter to add half and half and sugar. That made it taste better. There weren't a lot of pastries to choose from at this location. There was one rhubarb strawberry danish left and I picked it and ate it. It was delicious! read more

I love everything about this place. The location is in river Osborne, full of shops and other eateries to visit. The vibe is chill, not too loud so you can study/work if you need to and you can also catch up with a friend. They have the best roasts in town in my opinion and their bakery is pretty good too but they sell out fast so don't count on being able to get something to eat if you go past 12pm. All the baristas i've met thus far are nice and know what they are doing, I've never gotten a questionable cup of coffee once. read more

This place is so cute! Found it on yelp to catch up with a friend while in town and glad I went. Modern decor, unique selection of drinks and bites. I had the eggnog latte which was delicious. Loved the use of the old souvenir spoons. Unique concept having a fashion design studio and hair salon incorporated into the same space. The main reason I like this place is the little nooks of seating throughout. Many cafes only have a few tables or bar seating and liked how you could grab a booth or corner to yourself. Cute little cafe in the Osborne Village area with friendly baristas and good coffee. I'm a simple coffee drinker - so all I care about is that the shots are pulled right for my Americano and when I say "no room" I get water up to the brim up the cup. My coworker got a honey lavender latte and said it was delicious enough she kept coming back for more on the days we were there. Not huge, but plenty of seating and one stand-up bar area. Compares favorably to many cafes I've been in Seattle and Vancouver. Definitely worth stopping in. They had a few pastries and other items, but I didn't sample those. read more

This space (former Noir and other failed restaurant/bar attempts) now holds Little Sister Coffee Maker which is the sister coffee shop to Parlour Coffee on Main. This space is much better suited for this kind of business. They did a good job brightening up this long narrow space with lots of white subway tiles. There's a long coffee bar with about 6 small round tables for those who choose to stay in. prices are similar to all the other shops around town. my drink of choice is the mocha which is $4.25. They are using bows & arrows coffee. I do find their mocha to be just a touch sweet but still very good. There's some very limited pastries from Tall Grass Prairie here. The staff and owner are very warm and welcoming. It's lovely to see the constant stream of customers coming in for their caffeine fix on a Saturday afternoon. This place is a good place to catch up with a friend but their hours are only till 7 pm on weekdays and 6 pm on weekends so make sure you make your coffee dates during the day! I had a hard time deciding what rating to give this place. Rather than go across the street to Starbucks, I stopped in for an Americano a couple weeks ago. The staff was friendly and every table was full, which I took as a good sign. My Americano was great, worth every penny. I actually think it cost less than I would have paid at Starbucks. I decided to buy some coffee beans as well. I'd much rather support a local business than a grocery store, and the coffee is always better. I told one of the staff that I prefer dark roasts and asked him to recommend something. He told me to go with the Bows & Arrows Fazenda Capim Branco. I took his word for his, I assumed he would know better than me. Unfortunately, this is the worst coffee I have ever tasted. Coffee from a gas station would be better. It's pretty much undrinkable. I was extremely disappointed since the coffee I got there was so good. I have tried making it multiple times, using more and less coffee, and letting it steep for different amounts of time. Nothing changed. I still get the same weak, acidic tasting coffee. I would go back to Little Sister, but never to buy coffee beans. read more

I don't know why there are so few reviews of this place, but who knows, maybe people in Canada don't use Yelp. I came here with my grandma for a coffee and we couldn't have had a better experience. Their anchor roaster is Bows and Arrows which is a nice treat since it can be hard to come by in the States. They also have Detour, and I got a bag that I can't wait to try. Grandma had a latte and I had a soy capp and both were excellent. And the customer service was outstanding -- I love when specialty coffee shops place a lot of emphasis on treating customers well and Little Sister couldn't be nicer. read more

Coffee products don't sit well with my pallet, any beverages from Little sister in fact. Food products are excellent, which are made by another company. LS doesn't have a inviting feeling when one comes in, staff are rude and standoffish. Meh ! Go to your competitors and observe how they treat customers !!!! read more

I really wanted to love this place, as before we moved here I put it on my top "to go" places when we first arrived. The shop is extremely cute. I usually order my usual, iced americano black... I usually add just a little cream and sugar. However, when I asked for an americano the guy recommended instead I get the iced coffee. Not sure why he recommended that as every other hipster coffee shop I've attended across North America hasn't ever given that recommendation. Well, I should've just politely asked for the americano instead of the iced coffee because it wasn't good. Maybe I'll come back to try the americano, but I ended up sipping two sips and gave up.
