Great coffee and food! Little Sister has friendly staff and a wood oven fire (both of which make great pizza) and is conveniently located in the middle of the town. You can dine inside, outdoors, or get takeaway and the atmosphere inside is fun and cozy (as long as you're okay with a little smoke) The food, desserts, and drinks (even their coffee!) are all fantastic and while the price is slightly on the higher end it is well worth a visit. There are some items from local businesses for sale and a range of new and interesting artworks on the walls which add to the cafe's charm. read more

Whilst holidaying down in Normanville we dropped in for breakfast with a group of 6 of us. The owner & staff couldn't have been more accomodating to us and our little 2 year old. We scoped it out a little earlier during the day and asked what the likely hood would be for us to get a table for us all and they just asked us to give them 30mins before we head back. We went back (after wandering back to the house) and we we're greeted and walked straight to a table. The staff were on point; Prompt with service, quick to clean & clear tables around us. The food was delicious & the coffee great. I've always been taught that if you should try the coffee before adding sugar; if you need to add sugar is poorly made and crap coffee. No sugar required. Whilst the venue can be a little crowded once its busy; it definitely contributes to the great vibe that they've got going on here. Great interior design, great open style kitchen and counter area. Strongly suggest you check this out. Additionally; we didn't experience any of the insults or attitude attested to in one of the previous reviews. The team (and owner) there couldn't have been anymore amazing if they tried. read more

Happy Holidays yelpers! Even on holiday I've got time for yelping! Yay! I love giving 5's!! I visited this little gem while on holiday with my girlfriend, Little Sister sits in the main street of Normanville - a small shopfront with seating inside and out, from the outside it looks vibrant and inviting. As always the number 1 thing I look for - all day breakfast is available which is mint. Number 2 - the coffee is marvellous, the gent at the machine (who is obviously the owner) takes great pride in his cafe and ensures he greets every customer. My girlfriend and I decided to share a pizza for lunch, we asked if they could change some of the ingredients on our pizza and they happily obliged. The pizza came out in a quite reasonable time - on a wooden board along side two plates and cutlery (only little touches but very much appreciated)! No real complaints here - maybe the pizza could have been left in the oven a bit longer as I love a real crunchy pizza - but other than that a really nice place to eat! read more

While spending the weekend in Normanville in Feb/March, it was high on my list of things to do to visit this cute cafe! With its open plan kitchen-to-dining areas, and a lovely outdoor seating out the front, it was a well presented establishment. Unfortunately, I fear our steady arrival of about 20 people seemed to push the breaking point of our hosts at Little Sister, and we saw some of the less lovely sides we may not have wanted to see. Perhaps we stressed them out (though we all said we were in no rush to get our drinks, understanding that our arrival to a small town cafe may prove a challenge), we got the distinct impression the person who was 'in charge' pushed the younger staff a little too much - through what we overheard and saw. That was pretty dissapointing! After some juggling of who ordered what drinks, we were all mostly satisfied with what we ordered, but the mood was deflated. Of course, we all have bad days, so I look forward to trying this place again, perhaps with a little less of a convoy of people! read more

This little place popped up between visits to Carrickalinga. It looks quirky and fun, all mismatched furniture etc as is the trend of late. We decided to have a coffee just to get feel of the place and were met at the door by a man we now know to be the owner, and when we said we were just having coffee, he practically scowled at us but sat us down. There was a menu on the table so I had a look and liked the sound of a salad which included broad beans so suggested to the Doc that we have one to share so we could sample the food. When the owner came back we told him we would have two coffees and the salad to share only to be given the same scowl. Perhaps it was a bad day for him. In any case, the salad came out and it was minuscule! We had about three mouthfuls each for $18. Tasted great but seriously tiny for a "main course" salad. We paid the bill and retreated before we were scowled upon again. Shame, because this place has a great looking wood fired oven and the menu sounds good, just a pity the owner is so unwelcoming. He may have been a big player in Adelaide, however a small coastal village may prove a different thing altogether, the word will go around. The "attitude" needs to change. read more

We've been twice and really enjoyed it. The eclectic front of house joins up to low open counters that separate it from the fully visible kitchen - essentially you can see from the front door to the range hood. Delicious fresh sweets adorn the main counter top near the cash register and give Little Sister a warm country feel. Our service was fine although a tad slow for a quiet day. We enjoyed coffees, hot chocolates and some breakfast treats that were well crafted and tasty. The pizza evening went well as it passed our 'kid' test (ours don't like food). Whilst yummy the pizzas were quite expensive and minimalist, covered with a minimum of ingredients and the base much too thin. I love thin but these were ultra thin to a point they were barely able to hold ingredients. Little Sister stands out as you drive into Normanville so you won't be able to say no. read more

Passing through Normanville Little Sister seemed to be the obvious choice for lunch, it unfortunately turned out to be a bit if a disappointment. Our table had ordered a combination of pizzas, sandwiches and coffee, service was very friendly but slow even though it was hardly busy at all. It was pretty obvious that the cafe was trying hard, all breads and doughs used for the sandwiches and pizza looked and tasted homemade, sadly it just wasn't great and was too dry. We had ordered stock standard lattes and both were burnt so yet another disappointment. All in all I would give Little Sister a miss on my next Normanville visit. read more

The restaurant would be OK if it wasn't for the owner. His mannerism towards customers even puts Basil Faulty to shame. The last time I went in there and bought a loaf of bread (which turned out to be under cooked and dowy), I asked the girl why I was charged a dollar more than the day before for the same bread to which the owner chimed in with: "You must have been under charged yesterday, consider yourself lucky." After I paid and was about to leave, he topped it off with: "As far as I am concerned, you still owe me money." Great place to visit if you like to be insulted, otherwise stay away. read more

Little Sister is a beautifully decorated Cafe with a lovely outlook on the Normanville main street. It has an all day breakfast menu, some nice drink options, and lots of toys for children to play with. Unfortunately this is where the positives end. Service was slow, and a number of ordered items were forgotten. People who arrived after us were served before we were. Worst of all, however, was the food. For example, the sourdough toast ($7.50) consisted of a single piece of untoasted bread. The two slices of bacon and avocado additions were charged at $4 each. A 200ml banana smoothie was $6.50. We queried this and got no response. The service became surley after this. It was generally unpleasant experience. Not recommended. read more

Our group of 4 had a very nice breaky at Little Sister last Thursday - first day of re-opening after some renovations. We were all happy with our food - from big breakfast, to salmon & eggs to sourdough toast & jam - all good. Coffee and atmosphere led us to seconds. The soy chai latte was yum. One star due to the coffee was the only good thing about this cafe. Owner / chef had an attitude that matched the decor....mismatched & variable. Was tarted with disdain as we requested to sit outside due to the inappropriate music & sound level playing inside. Requested one meal to be gluten free which I will quickly add was not a problem. However, scrambled eggs that were barely cooked & still had clear membrane running through the dish on gluten free bread that in over 5 years of eating gluten free was the worst I have tasted & completely inedible. The other 5 dining guests in this party were treated with the same disdain & very ordinary food. If this is the Little Sister a rename is appropriate - perhaps Twisted Sister. Agree with Vivienne below. The owner's manner is a complete put off. Been there several times for breakfast, and I have never seen him smile. The food is ok, but the venue is very noisy, especially on busy Easter Monday. Today standards appeared to have sliipped more, with a chipped cup and teapot with dribbles down the side, not washed properly from the last use. Also don't like the extra dollar charged for using eptpos, which is money straight into his bank account. Suggestions: put up some fa ric wall hangings to cut down the noise, don't charge extra for using a card, and welcome your customers with a smile! read more

Worst experience in Normanville. Went in for dinner. Paid $86 for tasteless snapper and dry pizza. What was worse though was the complete disregard and lack of care from the owner. When I politely told him the fish was bland he said sorry about that as he walked away. When I went to pay the bill I asked him if he cared what people thought. He said 'what do you want me to do about it' in a very rude way. I said I thought he might at least care what people thought and he indicated that my view was irrelevant. Don't go here. The courthouse a few doors down is an infinitely better experience both in attitude and flavour. read more

So for the easter long weekend my partner and I decided to go to wirrena and as we past through normanville this quaint little cafe caught our eye so we decided to go and check it out for dinner. The food was good, but very over priced especially for the portion size. The young waitresses was fantastic but found the owener quite forceful, rude and arrogant with a lack of people skills. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had! We walked in to the empty restaurant and the waiter apparently couldn't be bothered greeting us and continued to talk to another employee! He was an outstandingly rude man who scoffed at me when I asked him a question! He needs a serious attitude check if that small restaurant wants to survive in a small town. We received two pizzas for the cost of $21 each...the amount of topping was appalling, we left half of it as it had no topping whatsoever! and the crappy base tasted like cardboard! I read the reviews so thought I'd try it out... Seriously!. The service was terrible. The owner extremely rude and dismissive! I initially asked if I could have a toasted sandwich only to have an abrupt no as an answer. Then when it asked for fried eggs I was made to feel like It was unreasonable request with again responded to with great attitude that they will only do scrambled or poached eggs. Once the food came out (eventually after at least 30 minutes), it was very bland and the eggs were uncooked and so too was the bacon, it still had the Fat on it when you take it out of the pack and it was stone cold... My sons waffle was a shop bought waffle toasted which was tasteless... The coffees I have to admit we're good (only thing that was) As soon as we made mention to the owner that the bacon was uncooked, he dismissed us saying it is cooked, grabbed our plates... Didn't look at the bacon, didn't acknowledge us in any other way and left.... There is no way I can recommend this place for anyone! The owner's attitude and rudeness wasn't even novel if that's what he was aiming for... He was extremely disrespectful. read more
