This place is a bit of an institution in sleepy coastal Normanville but even on a non long weekend in September the place was packed at lunchtime. It's not just a cafe, they have their own label wines by the bottle or glass, they sell local organic produce and stock artisan breads and gourmet food lines. The fare includes local fish and chips, focaccias, usually a pie, curries, lasagnes and salads.
So to the food. I had the New Yorker sandwich, a lovely big focaccia style bread brimming with good pastrami, sauerkraut, melty cheese, spinach and mustard pickles. Very tasty indeed. The Doc had the duck pie, great flavours but unfortunately nuked back to life in the microwave so pastry a bit soggy. Needed a little good quality chutney or something on the side too. All the meals are served in cute little cardboard boxes and they do a good coffee too.
