Staff does not get paid overtime, the whole summer we've been understaffed. Bronx House camp & building has received multiple of violations & still nothing has changed. The pink staff supervisors are beyond unprofessional, dress codes being broken yet regular staff were the only ones to get a write up for it. The way in which Lead Supervisors would go about talking to their staff gave parent instead of supervisor. Bronx house is not it. The disorganization when it came to trainings, daily schedules, even down to the trips. The higher staff aka the Pink shirts are very messy. All staff are but when leads were here it gave high school. There was supposed to be breaks 45- an hour for all staff shortage or not away from children & we have not gotten that YET. A class action lawsuit will be filed.

As a parent, I felt really good about dropping off my kids here as I knew they were taken care of very well. The place is very clean and the curriculum is engaging. I can tell how much my children enjoy it as they do a great job of sending daily updates and photos which really help us get a good grasp of what they do all day. Also, my kids always left with a big smile on their faces. This only happens when the people who operate this place truly care about the children. I can say my experience was about as good as it gets and we absolutely plan on bringing the kids back very soon. I noticed there were some legacy negative reviews that were tied to the previous ownership - but speaking from experience I can say unequivocally that this daycare is absolutely pristine and the right place to send my kids to. We've had some good and not so good experiences with other options and Genesis is without doubt on top of the list as I feel confident they take great care of the kids and keep parents regularly updated with their daily communication. He is almost reading as he leaves pre-K and has been well prepared for kindergarten. Covid was a very difficult time, but we got through it and TLE did an amazing job at keeping the children safe, communicating with the parents, and creating an environment of learning even during a pandemic. We eventually came to find TLE in Riverdale, and were so pleased with the initial impression. Through time, our daughter demonstrated continuous learning (started in daycare knowing numbers, letters, shapes, and colors, and now expanded number counting to 30, is able to list colors in Spanish, and always catches her mother and myself by surprise when she demonstrates her growing knowledge). Also, the way that this facility has managed safety and care during the heaviest parts of the COVID pandemic solidified to our family that we had chosen well. Since both her mother and I are considered essential workers, the fact that the daycare has remained open for a huge portion of this time (rarely did they close, but always had safety measures in place) made for a really supportive service. We loved that they also had requirements for the children to wear masks as well as the staff. Overall, there isn't anything negative I can say about this particular daycare. We moved away and had to select a new daycare, but I cannot emphasize enough how positive our experience has been with this facility. I cancelled my membership at Castle Hill YMCA within days of joining because the staff here are…read moreflat-out rude and unprofessional. They spoke down to my children on multiple occasions, thinking the kids wouldn't tell me. I personally witnessed them being especially nasty toward Black children while sitting around gossiping and judging members like immature teenagers. To make it worse, some staff hid behind Spanish, assuming no one could understand their anti-Black comments. That is not just unprofessional, it's discriminatory and unacceptable. This is supposed to be a family-friendly, welcoming space--but instead, the staff create a hostile and toxic environment. If they keep treating people this way, they're going to end up with serious legal problems. I would never recommend this YMCA to anyone. And now, after I left a negative review, they've decided to try to paint my children as "troublemakers." This is nothing more than a weak attempt at damage control by staff who don't want to take responsibility for their own rude and discriminatory behavior. I also have never seen the pool being cleaned. Not another dime from me.
