Within the first 5 minutes, I should have put my clothes on and left. I just didn't know how to do so without it being completely awkward and without them charging me anyway. You could tell the masseuse did not know the human body. I have had many Thai massages and typically they are quite skilled in where to put their hands. She just seemed like she was randomly pushing around on my back. She was unable to recognize knots in my muscles throughout my body. It was a Thai massage and she wasn't even going to use the bars above us to stand on me. I had to specifically request that. That should be a given for any type of Thai, Thai-combo massage. It was supposed to be "full body". She didn't touch my hands or my feet and she DIDN'T EVEN FLIP ME OVER. HOW IS THIS FULL BODY WHEN YOU ONLY DO ONE SIDE, AND YOU DON'T INCLUDE THE HANDS OR FEET? She just sucked. And I blame the management. This would have come out very obviously had they had her perform a massage prior to hiring her. $100 was a total waste. Let's start with the pros: close by the house. Nice soothing music. Cons: the chairs are pleather and cracking tremendously. The chairs/tables are placed immediately when you walk in the door. They could have arranged this better by putting the massage area for multiple people in the back. The woman who massage me tended to jerk my body around instead of giving me a good clean massage. When she move my arms and legs into different positions she did not do it gracefully yet pretty much just threw my them into place. What!?!!!! Definitely wouldn't be this way at my Chinatown place. Lastly, I paid by credit card and they charged me $26 instead of 25. I asked them why and they said that the machine charges an extra dollar. I asked where it states that so I would have known in advance? They didn't have an answer. Completely ticked me off. Not cool whatsoever! My advice. First time visitors who normally don't venture outside of the I-10 loop, we accidentally passed the house and had to make a circle, but it is right on Studewood, so stay alert or you might just miss it! There is a tiny lot behind the house, but there was only one other car there so we were able to park without issue. (Not sure where you would park if there were more than 2-3 cars..street parking a couple of blocks away? Won't be a problem while businesses are limiting capacity due to COVID though.) Our room was simple but clean. Didn't notice any hooks or places to put our clothes so we just placed them on a counter near the separate fridge-but-for-hot-things (It looked like a mini-fridge but I'm pretty sure the hot towels/coals were stored there, haha). Jamie and Sammy were our masseuses, and they asked us the pressure level before they beginning. The boyfriend wanted deep tissue, and I went with medium pressure. Next time, I will probably ask for deep tissue for my upper/lower back, but medium pressure was perfect for my legs and arms. They really stretched out our muscles and massaged areas I didn't even know were sore! My boyfriend proclaimed this was his favorite massage he's gotten. Sammy pinpoint all his knots and targeted all his sore spots. If I had to be nitpicky, I would say that in the beginning of the massage the phone rang several times (like at least 4 times in a row), and even with the doors closed and the background spa music it was audible. Perhaps if there was a way for their phone system to automatically go to voicemail or be silenced if there is no one at the front desk, that would have elevated the overall experience. Prices are pretty reasonable, perhaps a little higher than I can afford to come back regularly but worth it! We'll return.
