What we ordered: 1-month meal service 3 meals per day Delivery every other day We were promised nourishing, high-quality meals for postpartum recovery. Instead, what we got was a nightmare: 1. Nothing but bland, watery soups. Nearly every meal was just soup--thin, tasteless, and nutritionally empty. The CEO even boasted about "20 years of chef experience" and "rich proteins," but the reality was undercooked meat, barely any vegetables, and bizarre concoctions like beef with soy milk. Their claims are flat-out misleading. 2. Ingredients and preparation were shockingly bad. These were supposed to be "fresh meals," but it was obvious they were reheated leftovers. The quality was so poor that it's insulting they charge money for it--let alone thousands of dollars. 3. Customer service is dismissive and insulting. When we complained about the lack of substance and the fact that we had to spend extra time fixing each meal, their advice was: "make more dishes on your own to supplement" Think about that--we paid $4,000 for convenience, only to be told to cook more ourselves. After trying the goat I realized I was not a fan and they were able to take it off my menu for meals moving forward right away so they can always keep certain items out of your meals if you don't like them. There was also sea cucumber one day (I don't mind it). I also started off on a diabetic diet which they could easily accommodate. Then once I got the clearance from my doctor, switched to a regular diet. The variety was great, never had a repeat meal. The drinks are the same every day but the main meal item (usually a soup of some sort) was different everyday. Customer service is impeccable, quick to respond. I don't speak Mandarin but all communication is over text message and email in English so no issues there. The lady who delivered the meals always gave us notice about her approximate ETA and confirmed when she had dropped it off right away. I also asked them to pause meals for a week while I had family visiting who were going to be cooking for us and bringing us food and I knew I couldn't eat both. They agreed to pause the meals and simply resume after the week is over. Do yourself a favor and get this for your self care! Everyone helping you recover will be thankful that your meals are already taken care of and that you are getting something nutritious and healthy. I've had the pleasure of trying the dinner and breakfast package and everything has been great! Some of the complaints I read were that they were full of salt. The nutrition information is on each package and I haven't seen any meal with more than 400mg of sodium. I'm super sensitive to salt too and my fingers swell up if I eat too much of it. In addition to the low salt there is low sugar, healthy ingredients and it tastes great! I haven't tried all my meals yet but so far I haven't had anything that isn't delicious! I've tried other meal services and the vegetarian options are always carb heavy- not with Vegan Garden! They offer some carbs coupled with a lot of veggies! And the calorie count is so reasonable! I don't feel guilty eating the meal when it's around 200 calories whereas other services are around 500 per serving. My only feedback is that the paper that the muffins are baked in is very thin which makes the muffins tricky to get out of the paper without some paper sticking to the muffin. You will eat some paper. I'm very glad that I gave them a ty despite reading the reviews and being very wary. In terms of delivery everything came as described and on time! Not a single complaint with the delivery process! They email you telling you it's on it's way so you know exactly when to expect everything! It may sound like I work for them but I don't! I really like the texture of their bao buns, they're perfectly bouncy without being too soft or mushy. The taste is light enough to create balance with the rush fillings. The texture of the braised pork belly was soft and chewy from the fatty pieces. Both this filling and the bbq pork filling has a nice combination of sweet and salty. The sesame balls on the other hand had a very dry red bean filling. The paste felt very dehydrated but the outer dough was chewy and fried nicely.

The first time we got the bbq pork, XLB, and the custard/red bean buns. He gave us a 10% discount for buying three items at once. He had multiple recommendations for how to reheat but steaming is the best way. We really enjoyed those three items. So much so that we went back the next weekend to try more baos! We tried three other savory buns like the braised and the minced meat baos. The third time we also tried the sesame balls filled with red bean. They're about the size of golf balls. There are some items that were a great hit and others missed the mark for us. The ones we liked the most were the bbq pork, XLB, custard buns, minced meat bun. But that's personal preference. Everything tasted like it was fresh-frozen. Of course it's frozen. But it didn't taste "old". Since I heated them up at home I didn't encounter problems with the food being cold. Bunbao was a fun discovery. It satisfies the craving for baos and it's great they're frozen so you can stock up and enjoy whenever.
