I was unfortunately too busy managing the event (and enjoying the food) to take photos, but the menu absolutely deserves recognition. Highlights included the perfectly seasoned Farmer's Market Scramble, Chicken Apple Sausage, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Sauce, and Herb Roasted Potatoes for breakfast. Lunch featured incredibly tender Short Ribs, perfectly glazed and moist Grilled Chicken, grilled polenta, and the best honey butter cornbread I have ever had. Our guests consistently commented on how outstanding the food was...and this group is not easily impressed when it comes to catering. Kasey is super responsive and very efficient with how Kasey and Koy both run this amazing company. The baby shower was for 50+ plus people. So we opted with the grazing table. They offer so many options and most of them are easy to make completely vegan and that's what we did. The day of, Koy came at the scheduled time and got to work. I do have to apologize as I was mostly absent running around, setting up, getting the mother to be ready, etc.. When I came back to start greeting the guests, I was blown away with how beautiful the grazing table was. I mean, Koy does amazing work!! All of of the crackers, breads, fruits were so fresh and the vegan cheese??? The best! People were amazed that the cheese was vegan and that there were so many items to choose from. We appreciate the bamboo plates and wooden sporks, and we appreciate even more the minimal waste. That is very important to us. Thank you very much for the lovely spread. The fresh food and the high quality vegan cheeses. I hope we get to partner again in the future!

Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.

To top it all off, the catering team was incredibly kind, accommodating, and professional. As we all know, great food and great service go hand in hand, and D-D Delight nailed both. The food was exceptionally well executed. The beef was perfectly seasoned and tender (not chewy at all!!) and had that wonderful smoky flavor from the char. The chicken was also beautifully seasoned with a nice lemongrass flavor that really came through. I heard so many great things about the grilled shrimp as well. I initially thought the tofu might be bland but I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and delicious it turned out. We ordered full trays of adobo chicken, lechon roasted pork, crispy tofu, paella, sofrito rice, black beans, corn, poblano mac and cheese, and plantains. I did bring in one dish from another restaurant, Jamaican oxtail, just because I know my guests are big foodies. The biggest hits from Havana were definitely the poblano mac and cheese, lechon, and the paella. Honestly, the mac and cheese was the standout. Everyone kept going back for it and I wish I had ordered an extra tray. What really stood out to me though was the delivery experience. The driver called me ahead of time, brought everything in, and set it all up. He opened the trays with gloves, added sauces, arranged everything nicely, and even put out utensils and labels. I've had plenty of catering deliveries before and this was easily one of the best. He was just genuinely kind and went above and beyond, and it made a big difference. Overall, everything went smoothly, the food was great, and I would definitely order from them again.
