Simplicity was suggested to me, and I am ever grateful! Just after Amy and Bryan took over all the logistics and my family decided to pre-plan/pay for the inevitability of the passing of my 88 yr. old parents, my father did indeed pass away. The comfort and compassion that was provided to my family has been immeasurable- Bryan was my go-to contact and, because of him, the process of moving my dad from FL to SC and then to burial was seamless, worry-free and perfection! If you are looking for whom you can trust in this industry, where you can place your hope and faith that all things promised will be kept with the utmost professionalism and authentic, personal caring- then I urge you to please contact them- ask for Amy and Bryan. My family and I are eternally grateful- and have continued peace of mind as my mother continues to age, that the arrangements we have made with Simplicity regarding her passing will be just as seamless. We all humbly THANK YOU dear Bryan and Amy. You have been called to do such challenging work, but you are outstanding; true beacons in your profession, and such incredible people :D Amen!

I would highly recommend this Funeral home to anyone looking a wonderful compassionate group of people.

Let's face it, death is for the most part the worst part of life; inevitable, painful and…read moredefinitive. What's more troubling is the family of the deceased can be caught off guard or too emotional to deal with the details of the event. So, it helps when a family can depend on others to facilitate some of the workload. This is where I bring in J. Henry Stuhr located on Glenn McConnell Pkwy to the conversation. I would like it understood upfront while I've had two loved ones pass through their chapel, I wasn't not involved with any processes; rather just a third-party hearing some of the business side of things. First off, this establishment is fairly easy to get in and out of while the outside has a sort of no-nonsense humble majesty. Upon entering the place is logically and caringly laid out with a greeting desk close to the door to accept guests. As for the staff I would say they're extremely professional and delicate in their approach to requests of the families. They know their profession well and from everyone I talked to their opinion was "that's one less thing I have to worry about." The faciality is I'd wager newer thus free of a lot of trash and very clean. J Henry Stuhr does offer assistance with a lot of services including but not limited to preplanning, obituaries, veterans, cremation and pets. The place is large enough to offer a lot of separate rooms, although I'm not sure if funerals are run at the same time or staggered, but the rooms are large enough to fit a small crowd. Moreover, across from the funeral ceremony room, they have a waiting area where food can be dropped off and after the services uses as a congregation area with plenty of seating. As for the funeral room they have a sign in book outside and being a Christian, I thought inside was tastefully laid out. Pews in two rows ran the length of the room with a TV placed on either side of the rows hung up so all can see. Recessed lighting and a large chandelier offer enough light for the service with all the focus being a center table displaying whatever items the family choses. As for my visits there were candles, a cross and some ancillary items. Just to the side is a podium that can hook up to the centralized AV system for slideshows, a mic for the room and a focal point, flanked by large chairs on either side. Finally on the back wall are some curtains and the state and American flag, again all tastefully displayed. Talking with my relatives they said their experience with the funeral home was priced right and handled with dignity and care. The owners and employees are professionals who genuinely care about making sure all your needs are taken care of. During such a troubling time, it's good to be able to assign people tasks with full confidence the job will not only be done, but exceeding expectations. From my standpoint this was better than a few other places I've had to go to funerals in that it's clean there are no issues (like an AC not working in summer) and so forth. If the time comes I highly recommend considering J Henry Stuhr to contact for all your funeral needs. You'll be treated just like family.

Just before A few months before Covid got started, my Mom passed after losing a battle with cancer. She happened to be in a rehab facility following surgery when it happened so they were the ones to call and let us know one evening. My brother and I were both obviously distraught, but things got worse when I called the next day to see what they next steps were. I won't go through the whole thing, but the short story is that before we had a chance to tell the facility where we wanted the body transferred to, they had a funeral home pick her up on their own. Their services were very expensive and way more than we were looking for. When I let them know what had happened that funeral home was very accomodating and apologetic when they learned those were not my wishes. They offered to deliver the body to any local funeral home or crematorium at no cost due to the mishap from the rehab facility. We weren't looking for a service because most of our family is in the Northeast. We wanted to do a simple cremation, and then transport the remains back to Boston for a service etc... After making some calls, I knew that Charleston Cremation Center was exactly what I needed. My brother and I came in to sit down and discuss the details. They were very professional and answered all my questions. They didn't try to play on emotions for any upsells and knew that we were looking to keep it simple. They even made the correct accomodations for flying with the remains and making sure we had all our necessary paperwork. All of our expectations were exceeded and the communication was stellar. All we needed was the basic cremation services and it saved us literally thousands of dollars from quotes I received elsewhere. They do offer funerals and more if you're looking for that too. Hopefully whatever situation you're going through that brought you to reading this review will give you piece of mind to assist in making the right decision for you and your loved ones.
