We ultimately decided not to go with Parks Funeral Home, but I still wanted to share our experience in case it helps others. The staff we interacted with were very nice and kind during a difficult time, which we appreciated. However, the facility itself just wasn't the right fit for our family. We understand the building is very old and has a lot of history (I believe it dates back to the 1800s), but it did feel a bit run down. The floors creaked quite a bit, there were decorative elements like mounted ducks throughout, and the exterior concrete was noticeably cracked. While it may be a good option for some families, it just didn't feel like the right environment for us during such an emotional time, so we chose to go with a different funeral home. I'm sure it serves others well, but this was simply our personal preference based on the atmosphere. read more

The amount of care that this funeral home puts into your loved one is indescribable. Melissa and everyone at Parks were on point with everything surrounding the burial of my mother. When choosing her final resting place casket and such we were able to look around at our own pace and they didn't try to "upsell" you on anything. What can I say about this place other than excellence...they were amazing to deal with in such a horrible time. My husband passed away suddenly in December and I was totally lost..a friend suggested Parks Funeral Home and I'm super glad they did. Everything was done in such a manner that it didn't feel like a burden on me to do the arrangements. We told them what we wanted, and they provided! We only needed 1 room for guests to come visit and they supplied poster boards for photos, a magnetic board for any other pictures and always with a smile and a caring heart. They offered to put photos to music for a slide show and it turned out beautifully. They were fabulous at everything. Very patient also while waiting for funeral costs to be paid. Kind words and caring smiles went a long way to me...when things happen suddenly, the last thing on your mind is all the small details about the viewing and funeral days...your mind is literally anywhere but the funeral...Parks Funeral Home did a great job?? Parks tooke great care of my wife's arrangements. I worked with Hannah and she was just GREAT to work with. The Preacher was great. Many of the people who attend the the service spoke very highly of how my wife looked,And of the Minister Josh. He and I talked at length about my wife and our marriage, He took great care to get a good pitcher of my wife. As did Hannah. I Highly recommend Parks to all that need a great funral home. Fair pricing and they do not try to sell you more than you need or want. They made me feel like we where old friends and I am always welcome to just stop by.
