He and I spoke two more times over the next few days and then we had an in person meeting that included my mom and sister. We were so encouraged. And hopeful. Matthew told us he had five potential caregivers on his team who he thought would connect well with my father. The next day, Monday, a wonderful woman came to stay with my father. We thought we were so fortunate that we chose the right agency! The next evening, Tuesday, the caregiver did not show up. Matthew apologized profusely....said he had a zero tolerance policy for a no call, no show. My family went without a caregiver for that evening. On Wednesday, Matthew sent another caregiver, also very nice. On Thursday, she did not show. After quite the heated discussion between my sister and Matthew, he assured us via phone and email that he had another caregiver that would be coming on Friday. Matthew said he would be at my mom and dad's house too, in order to make the introductions. Although Matthew did arrive to make the introductions, no caregiver ever showed up. We promptly fired the agency. Three no shows in the first week....very disappointing and disheartening. All the time researching, the phone calls, the meeting...all the time that we took with Matthew...was a complete waste of time. If I could give less than one star, I would; however, Yelp requires at least one star. If I didn't know any better, I would think that Homewatch Caregivers is a scam and not actually a legitimate agency. Lia Esposito

Fatoumata Binta Sidibe, and Soumah NaNa the care that they gave my mom who was diagnosed with dementia, has given her the best care any caregiver can give someone. We are so very thankful so very grateful for this agency who supplied us with these 2 sisters. They are amazing. They care not only for her. But the family they give her the most upscale care more. Throughout the holidays my mother had no care, and she is priority customer. Do not use this agency! They are horrible. We have tried to talk to someone but the schedulers (the fulltime person is completely inept) but they do not respond (maybe on vacation?). Never use this company if you care about your family member. I am going to call the state because these people should not be receiving funds from them. The CEO makes 2 million a year, but they can't afford to pay the real workers what they deserve (which is way more than minimum wage for what they do). It is completely cruel as to how this company "takes care of" its clients. DO NOT USE MODIVCARE!!!!!!!

They can't administer his medications he needs 5 times a day. After the Key took over from Companions and home makers their prices kept increasing. They don't pay their caregivers enough yet they keep increasing the prices. They told me it was due to wage increases in CT. That increase is less than one dollar per hour. yet rates per hour increased almost five dollars. For day care their caregivers are excellent but they need to pay them better.

I felt our concerns, like abuse, disrespect towards my family members, and possible theft were interpreted as "whiny complaining". I needed to remind one manager that we hired them and they worked for us, not the other way around. No matter which agency you go with, they are all the same as far as the aide who comes into your home. I feel bad for those who don't have children to look in and watch out for them while an aide is in the home. It is better than a nursing home environment in some respects, however, you need to be proactive and not expect the agency will do it all. Please lock up all valuables in a safe, lock box, or hidden somewhere. When we had some wonderful aides at home under this agency, I felt confident that my family was cared for.
