When I started my search for a limo from the airport to the hotel I was consistently finding rates of over $100; Angie beat that price. She provided a Lincoln Town Car for about the same rate that most services wanted for a multi-stop van. Keith was our driver for three- of four trips they provided. He was one unique individual - WOW! He was a trip all by himself. The car was spotless. He had fresh bottles of cold water. He was entertaining and informative. And Angie herself picked us up for the last ride. She's a special lady. We had a number of bumps and hurdles - and all were overcome simply and easily. We had to change times, destinations, and added a separate trip at an odd time when our ship was delayed in port. The ship delay prevented us from making our plane flight home so we had to schedule an unexpected stay at the hotel, a ride from the cruise port to the hotel, and change our original ship-to-airport shuttle to accommodate the extra night in Baltimore. I'm taking advantage of a flight delay to do a review of a security checkpoint. Anyway, of the two…read moremain TSA checkpoints, I find that this one seems to be less crowded. It's totally anecdotal, but it just seem to flow better. Security at DCA tends to be smoother than other airports possibly due to its smaller size and the high number of frequent fliers so don't discount the South Tier however. The TSA agents are efficient, and the setup was designed after 9/11, so it's built to accommodate large numbers of people unlike the security areas at a lot of other airports. I rarely am in line for more than 5 minutes (I have PreCheck), they also have Clear lanes for those who have joined that program. Read th signs on the lanes (General boarding, PreCheck, or Clear. They often leave it up to people to read the signs and the TSA agents will kick you right back to the end of the line if you get in the PreCheck line without actually having PreCheck.

I was just there a few weeks ago and the trip to DCA cost $2.55 and I avoided traffic - winner! and I love that I can have the Metro app on my phone - in the early days it was purchasing a card at the station (which you can still do) - no thanks. I feel generous giving 5 stars to a public transportation system, but keeping it real, it's good (at least for my needs and experience.) Okay, maybe 4.75 stars, lol.

The Metro is the best way to get to and from the DCA airport. Both the Blue and Yellow metro lines…read morestop here, and you can access those lines from many hubs in DC. Ubers and Lyfts are expensive, but the metro is only a few dollars. Prices are a little cheaper on weekends. The station is above ground, and although it is covered, it is in the elements, so if it's a cold day, you will be cold. Make sure you know your next stop and direction BEFORE boarding the train. We got on the train with some folks who had to get off at the next stop to switch directions. It's an honest, rookie, mistake that will cost you time but thankfully not a whole lot of money.
