But, it's on Martha's Vineyard - everything is expensive, and it's full of tourists. So you should expect to find that at Menemsha Blues just like you would anywhere else. It is similar to Black Dog, but not as big, and not as ubiquitous. I also disagree with characterizing it as a "chain." It's a local store that has several physical locations in the area. As far as their products: the quality of everything they sell is excellent. We bought several clothing items from them, and they were worth every penny. My husband seriously considers a trip back just to buy more of the polo and button-up shirts there because he loves them so much (and you can't get most of the items on their website, which is the only slight issue I have). He routinely gets stopped while wearing their items, because people like the small fish logo and it's so unusual, and they want to know where he got it. By all means, go to Menemsha Blues, and the original store in Menemsha is quite charming. If you dislike paying for quality items or buying from a store that has several locations in the area it was founded, I guess you can skip it, but you're doing yourself a disservice.

Daughter ended up buying two crossbody bags and sis a great built in vest jacket. The sales person said no tax on clothing under $145.00. But we were taxed on the bags. Kokonuts has the coolest Martha's Vineyard shirts I've ever seen! The shop also has shirts, jeans, bathing suits, bags, hats... I even found the size of sun hat I'd been looking for since 1995. Remember the movie "Practical Magic"? Aunt Fran's hat! THAT size was there, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it yet so I bought the MV shirt and a bracelet that says "I am PEACE" (because I am). I must give a special shout-out to Celine, who was incredibly helpful and happy to be there! It's a rarity to come across an employee who takes such pride and joy in their work. She was so awesome, we had to go back and visit her on our way back to the ferry. Two more shirts were bought AND the hat! I hope Celine is there when I return to the island. She made my day and added to my enjoyment of MV all around. :-)

She is currently a student at Lawrence Junior High and this shop has a ton of Lawrence clothing items. The store also has a huge selection of Falmouth/Cape Cod clothing options and the store is clean and well stocked. The staff here was incredibly polite and didn't hover over us as we shopped. In the end, we stocked up on all of the needed items and actually walked out with a few extra items. When looking at the other shops in Downtown Falmouth that sell Cape merchandise, this store has one of the best selections with reasonable prices.

On the receipt it clearly states purchased item can be returned and exchanged within 30 days of purchase, it must be in as-new condition, unworn, and unwashed. I had hardly used it for an hour, it was too small for me. It was in all clean condition and when I went to them first time to request for an exchange she said they can't return it because i used/wore it and they had cut the tags from it. I said politely that's okay and left the store. After I walked back to my room I read the receipt which had the return policy on it. I went back to the store and asked her to read and follow the return policy. But she started gaslighting me. And psychologically attacked me in front of other customers. "She kept saying I 'wore' it pointing at 'unworn' word on the bill, and that they cut the tags." I had to educate her on the difference between worn and wore. I googled the definition of worn-off in front of her and insisted where does the return policy speak about the tag and wore? She kept saying you wore it, twisting wore with worn as if I was an uneducated individual. Sad part is that I was only going to exchange the item but returned it due her ignorant and shameful attitude towards a tourist from a different race and color. She must have thought of me to not be so well read and well-traveled. After fighting for it, she eventually returned and reimbursed me the money. Why did she it does it then if it wasn't the policy and I wore it and cut the tags? So clearly, she was manipulating and trying to scam me. Fraud! There clearly is a racist perspective to the incident. Humans are programmed to think about other humans who appear to be different than their race differently. It's just the science of human psychology and human brain signalling (neuroscience) and telling us to act differently. I regretted doing purchases from your store in Provincetown. In fact if the store was nearby where I live, I'd return other purchased items. Extremely traumatizing, shameful and ignorant experience I had.
