TLDR- it's fantastic…read more This is a long review... I have been to many therapists for trauma work but no practice has helped me the way Therapy for Women has. I broke up all the reasons I think Therapy for Women is amazing below. The values: This practice is based on mutual trust. You're therapist will happily share bits of their own life experiences. This always makes me feel less alone in what I am experiencing. Additionally, the open conversations make sessions comfortable/feel less like a doctors appointment. Therapy for Women also makes a point to let you know that you can switch therapists at anytime. Besides therapy won't be effective if you aren't comfortable with who you are talking too. In the office: The atmosphere is calming and quiet. Therapists have white noise machines at their door so your conversations will never be heard by someone passing by. If you are finding it hard to share something most therapists have art supplies, cards, fidget toys or board games that you are able to play during the session. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to what you need. This is especially great for people like me with ADHD. The online portal: This might not be something many people think is important but the online portal is so simple. The rules, expectations, and prices for the practice are shared openly once you become a client so there is transparency. If you are ever confused about something or wondering about your last bill it is easy to look up past records and chat with your therapist directly. Price: Therapy for Women does not accept insurance (this is my understanding/ I'm not sure if there are specific exceptions). Sessions are relatively expensive since insurance doesn't cover the cost. However, Jen is a therapist I could stick with for years and I feel it is completely worth the extra cost. Over all: I really think this practice is something special and I am SO happy I found it when I did.

I am blown away by the expertise and insight of Hilary Katz, one of the therapists at this practice…read more(note: I have not had experience with others in the practice, but have heard amazing things). I have two children-a nine year old son with autism, and a 6 year old daughter who is neuro-typical. Hilary is magical in her interaction with both children, and the advice she gives me as their parent has been top notch. She is professional, competent, and very nurturing. She also works well with others in her field, and is always knowledgeable about where to go if a child needs evaluations by other professionals in related fields. Hilary has amazing relationships with teachers, doctors and therapists in the Philadelphia area. She has been a blessing to many children and their families. I cannot recommend Hilary Katz highly enough.

Reasons like (out of context ) "You need to make an appointment (time) plus include reason for your call before I can return it." Huh?? Note My feeling is....in the time it took for A.L. to draft an 8 paragraph email to me, she could've USED THAT SAME TIME to return my call out of courtesy. I ran this by my GP just to check if I was being reasonable, and he said and I quote "That's crazy". Her reasoning was that she sets "boundaries". When someone is in a severe depression as I was, the last thing I need to hear about is having "boundaries" put on me. I fully understand the purpose of boundaries when I am in a healthier, better place ....but her choice and TIMING to load these on me were inappropriate.
