Turned out absolutely beautiful, in spite of a couple rookie decisions on my part that certain things look a certain way. Last night he started in on a leg sleeve for me - I didn't bring anything for reference but a general idea about the theme, and he's running from there. Little different process, and better. Trust your artist - they do this for a living. The leg looks amazing already just in partial linework, but there are hours and hours left- if experience tells me anything it's just going to improve as we go. Jeff's an extremely talented artist and a super nice guy, and the rest of the folks in his shop are doing great work as well, from what I have seen. I'm looking forward to more work. The reason this is four stars instead of five is because all of their Friday the 13th tattoo specials were characters from The Simpsons. It's a cute idea, and original, but I kind of just wanted to get a black cat or something more "spooky" than Bart Simpson. Had more traditional options been available, I would've given them five stars. When I didn't see a flash design I wanted, I decided to go ahead and get another small tattoo I had been wanting for a while. I got the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter. If you're unfamiliar, the symbol is a triangle with a circle and a line going through it. It's all very straight lines, perfect circle, that sort of thing. I was concerned about getting it from a tattoo shop I had never visited or heard anything about but as a very impulsive tattoo addict, when I've set my mind on getting a tattoo I'm getting one. I spoke with Jay who ended up being my artist. The tattoo is on the inside of my hip, to the left of my right hip bone and right at the pants waistline. It was fairly painful as a result of the placement, but that was expected. Jay was very sweet through the whole thing. When I looked at the tattoo in the mirror, I noticed a line that was slightly wobbly. I pointed it out and Jay fixed it without being rude or acting irritated like a lot of artists seem to do. The tattoo is wonderful and healed perfectly. It wasn't a part of the $31 special they were having for Friday the 13th as it wasn't on the flash sheet, but it wasn't expensive at all. The lines are well done, the circle is as close to perfect as it could be, and Jay made the whole experience incredibly pleasant. The location is also incredibly convenient to me. I will definitely be back to Wicked Ways, and would recommend Jay highly.
