Hayley is excellent at deep tissue massage and finding places I didn't even know were bothering me based on what I did know was wrong. I felt like she read my ailments in body braille and was on a search and rescue mission at the same time. She started by asking a few questions and then had me lift my legs while standing and observed the way my body moved/was aligned or rather misaligned. Then she explained what was happening. Crunchy. Buzzy. Hot maple syrupy. Nervy. Angry. Flowy. Sinewy. All of these words were used at one point to describe how I was/should/could or should not be feeling. I could say "That feels hot buzzy" and she would say something like "Oh, well you shouldn't be feeling that here- the floating rib and the nerve, something, something..." and then she would minutely adjust where she was massaging and I would fade out to a hot maple syrupy feeling. I described my right shoulder as a 'dumb oaf' and she was able to translate that info into something about my rotator cuff needing more work and then she worked out some intense tightness. She even pressed on a few spots in my arm pit that seemed to relieve months of tension. I left feeling educated, more balanced and energized. This isn't a fluffy stuffy place. Her room is a modest but tastefully decorated studio. She uses soft blankets and sheets and a nice cloth cover on her face rest. The methods she used on me were more active than most massages I've had and instead of leaving like a pile of sleepy mush, I left somehow feeling stronger and more alert. Sleepy mush can be good and I'm sure she can do that too but that's not what my body needed and she seemed to know exactly how to tackle it.

Misty, like most massage therapists, does not take insurance, but since she is licensed, getting reimbursed will be no issue. She provided me with notes on the session. Now the best part! Cranial/Sacral So…read morehere we are on day 5 after the Cranial/Sacral treatment. I really feel great, and I've been upbeat and positive all week. More expansive somehow. Ginger gave the treatment after one of the heaviest emotional weekends I've had, she was right on time. Ginger did a type of muscle/energy treatment that has cured, so far (I feel a certain amount of stress or lifestyle expression could bring it back) my neck, but more importantly, I've been skippidy do dah since that day. She did my ankles, and feet and I could feel the warmth of her energy go through my legs and thigh, almost to my pelvis. From there, a slighter warmth up my spinal column. She asked if it was pleasurable, and it was not really pleasure, but warmth. I was aware of the work. At this point I actually had to stop myself from analyzing the energy work and just enjoy it. When she began to work my neck under my skull it was like she was tucking my muscles back in, not really "massaging them" like I do, but she has strong hands and accurate pressure points. Now, I've always had tension in my neck, and could crack/pop it at will, any time of the day, for decades. That has been gone since that day. So, it was a repair of sorts, for sure. When she held my head I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep a few times, or... faded into daydreaming, but I didn't let myself for long, I felt I wanted to be aware and "recieve" the therapy. It was soft and emotionally releasing, this work. Something special is with Ginger and this therapy. I can't quite put my finger on it. The amazing thing is from that day I have felt lighter and happier. My body tension is gone. I have to wonder, how much body tension causes mental anguish rather than the other way around? I've felt more in tune and awake. Now... correlation doesn't imply causation, but the positivity has stayed with me since the session, and my body feels open, and my neck doesn't hurt or pop.
