It was well past 2 AM by the time we finally got back. And the tattoo artist wouldn't stop talking and so it took a full 45 minutes to do this one centimeter line (that was the whole tattoo.) The artist said she liked staying late so that she wouldn't go back to her old habits, which made it feel like she'd intentionally made us wait so she wouldn't be alone at night. We weren't done until 3 am. That's 6 hours past 9 pm when we were scheduled. The second we were back there she launched into telling us all the traumatic things she's experienced. I work in mental health- I definitely understand trauma. And there's no doubt she's had some unfair horrible things happen to her. But I was already in an emotional state (given the symbolism behind the tattoo) and it was really hard to be trauma dumped on. Especially without warning. Trauma dumping is so unfair and a lot of what she said triggered my own trauma. She deserves healing for what she went through but her clients aren't her therapist. She's talented and I think has a genuinely good heart but I felt like she didn't take my time or emotions seriously. It felt like I was being used for her own benefit. I had free touch ups so I tried to schedule one (despite my better judgement) and I've attached the photos of the conversation we had. She never even responded. TL;DR- I paid $60 for a tattoo that should have taken 5 minutes but instead took 6 hours.

They were prompt to get back to me with a quote of $80 because what I wanted was small and that was the minimum. Seemed fair to me I scheduled for the following day. This was my first tattoo and I was a little nervous and did not know what to expect. When I arrived at the store there were a few people hanging out outside that greeted me and asked me to go on in and fill out the paperwork. Entering the establishment I felt it was clean and professional. After showing the artist what I wanted again and where I wanted it he quoted me $100. I was a little taken back by that. I felt he really was taking advantage of me because he know I was scared and that it was my first time. I agreed to it and waited for him to prepare for me. While waiting they turned music on in the building that was far from inviting. It was rap of some sort and every other word seemed to be the "N" word. My artist was ready for me and I agreed to the drawing and location. He prepared the area and began. I was surprised that it did not hurt whatsoever. He made me feel comfortable and it was pretty quick work. I think I was there in and out in 30 minutes. Aftercare instructions were vague but that was okay with me because I had a lot of family with tattoos that could help me out. I am happy with my tattoo but if ever I get a second, I will go somewhere a little more reputable.

It was quick and easy to make an appointment on their website, and it didn't require a security deposit either. I arrived to get my conch piercing at 5:30 pm and I was out by 6 pm. I was a little nervous and had lots of questions about the piercing itself and the after care. I also had not gotten a piercing in years, so I was worried it would be painful. They were kind and allowed my two friends to come to the back with me to hold my hand (I know... I'm a scaredy cat). Mitch walked me through everything that was going to happen- for example, "okay, you're gonna feel a small pinch first and then you'll feel some pressure." He also said that my only job was to keep breathing. He had me take one deep breath in and then exhale out right as he did the piercing, too. As you can tell, the team is very patient and kind here. This is a great spot for anxious girlies or for your first time getting a piercing. Their piercing and jewelry pricing is all fair. My conch piercing costed $45 plus the 14K gold jewelry I chose. Unlike other shops, they had a huge selection of yellow gold and rose gold options that were actually cute- flowers, stars, moons, etc. On average, I saw the stud earrings were about $60-170 each. They also tallied up my total prior to actually getting the piercing, so there weren't any surprises at the end when I paid. They sent me home with a detailed after care guide too. I've already told friends and family about this shop being a great option for them when they come visit Utah.

I have two tattoos and both were walk-ins. While I love them both very much, they each have their own issues that I am a tiny bit bummed about. One on my shoulder is slightly raised which I really don't mind as it still looks amazing, and one on my upper thigh is a little shaky and the line thickness is a little inconsistent. I don't hate either of them and I still love how they look as I feel it works with my aesthetic, but just be sure to research your artist. The piercers have never been a problem for me. They adequately prepare me for the healing process, they ensure I'm comfortable the entire time, and the prices are never crazy. I will say, they tend to forget to tell you the price up front but I have never felt that it was shady at all. It's just hard to bring it up naturally but I assure you, if you ask about the price, they will have no problem telling you.

The brows were a salmon color after first treatment. My second appointment made them a light yellow. And my last appointment will take care of the yellow. They did not offer me any numbing, they did not bandage the area, etc. Just horrible. I spoke to the manager and told her my concerns. Missed areas and doing the minimum so I would have to do extra treatments. Also the last time I went there, the laser lady missed a huge area and still charged me the same price. I was just asking for a discount on my next treatment but the manager flipped out and told me we could have a sit down with the laser lady. I thought that was ridiculous and I told her that. I didn't need a public scolding for the laser lady - maybe just another person to do it and a discount on the procedure. Considering I spent a ton of money for poor results - I thought that was reasonable. I offered to send photos but she was seriously unwilling to do anything or make it right. When I turned down her parent teacher conference, I told her I would be going else where due to being severely disappointed with how she handled the situation. She started repeating over and over again that it was at "my digression" and she HUNG UP on me. I was baffled lol. Imagine my surprise when I went to the amazing Gateway Aesthetic Institute and it was a fraction of the cost, they numbed the area, got the WHOLE area, bandaged me up, and the staff was amazing. Don't waste your time with Ink Lifters or Aesthetica.
