I called early on Memorial Day to see if they accepted walk ins, and they said that while they do take walk in's, today would be busy, and they recommended making an appointment. It was quick and easy to make an appointment on their website, and it didn't require a security deposit either. I arrived to get my conch piercing at 5:30 pm and I was out by 6 pm. I was a little nervous and had lots of questions about the piercing itself and the after care. I also had not gotten a piercing in years, so I was worried it would be painful. They were kind and allowed my two friends to come to the back with me to hold my hand (I know... I'm a scaredy cat). Mitch walked me through everything that was going to happen- for example, "okay, you're gonna feel a small pinch first and then you'll feel some pressure." He also said that my only job was to keep breathing. He had me take one deep breath in and then exhale out right as he did the piercing, too. As you can tell, the team is very patient and kind here. This is a great spot for anxious girlies or for your first time getting a piercing. Their piercing and jewelry pricing is all fair. My conch piercing costed $45 plus the 14K gold jewelry I chose. Unlike other shops, they had a huge selection of yellow gold and rose gold options that were actually cute- flowers, stars, moons, etc. On average, I saw the stud earrings were about $60-170 each. They also tallied up my total prior to actually getting the piercing, so there weren't any surprises at the end when I paid. They sent me home with a detailed after care guide too. I cannot recommend this studio enough. Such a wonderful place! I came in to get my labret re-pierced. The coziest atmosphere and I genuinely so appreciate the fact that they keep their door locked. First off, this space is gorgeous! All white walls, wood, metal accents...there are lovely green plants and Edison bulbs, and the whole front of the studio is glass so lots of natural light flows in. You can sit in a comfy couch, and the display cases are all beautiful, with even more stunning treasures inside. I visited yesterday with my BFF, who was childhood friends with the owner, Courtney. She is so lovely, friendly, and fun! She took the time to make sure we loved everything we picked out, then she explained how different piercings open up different chakras. It was very interesting, and made the experience feel much more personal and special. She pierces with your breathing, and I don't know if it was all in my mind or what, but, while of course being pierced hurt, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I got a double forward helix piercing, and the prep takes a little time (sterilization, cleaning the area to be pierced, marking, etc), but the actual piercings were done so quickly! My friend had previously had her ears pierced, but they'd closed up, so her plan was to get them re-pierced. Courtney was actually able to stretch them, so they didn't have to be pierced again, which heals much more quickly, prevents scar tissue, and costs less. It took more time, and shows that Courtney wants to make sure she is doing what is best for her clients. Some reviewers stated they were disappointed by the selection of stud jewelry, and while it wasn't huge, I felt like there were plenty of options (and I can be a little picky). On the other hand, there are TONS of other types of jewelry: plugs (so many!), hook, hoop and other earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. Most, if not all, seem to be handmade. When you first get a piercing there are only so many basic post options. Once it's healed you can have more fun with the fancy stuff. Prices seemed a little high to me, but I haven't had anything pierced since I was about three, so what do I know? The cost to be pierced is $35 for the first, $25 for the second. A traditional ear piercing is $35 or $40. My friend's stretching was $5. The post options ranged from $25-$60 or so for the surgical steel options, $75-$125+ for the gold/gemstone options (these are for one stud, not a pair). I opted for some beautiful rose gold posts, and the extra cost was totally worth it to me because I'm going to be wearing them at least for several months, and most likely much longer. Also, gold is anti-inflammatory, and that doesn't hurt! I don't know that I will want additional piercings anytime soon (although this was such a great experience maybe I'll get into it!), but if I do decide to get more this is definitely where I'll go. I would certainly come here for creative jewelry options, especially if I needed something for a gift. read more

I came to Abyss bc my nose piercing unfortunately closed. I wasn't sure if they allowed walk-ins so I called to ask. Great decision on my part bc the amazing front desk lady (I forgot her name and I feel so bad bc I literally tipped her $5 lol she was that amazing) told me that they didn't but could make me an appointment as soon as possible which happened to be just an hour after calling. The original piece I was pierced with was an L shaped stud and I'd asked if I could have them use that to re-pierce with. She explained that they could take a look but it would be unlikely. Fast forward to getting there, she greets me with a big smile and super friendly vibe. After explaining why they couldn't use my old stud, she showed me the options of what I could choose from ranging in multiple prices. You could instantly tell that the qualities of the pieces they offered were extremely nice. I chose a cheaper option bc I usually wear nose rings more often. After showing her what I was interested in she brought out a large case showing different sizes of the one I wanted and even handed me a mirror so that I could see what it'd look like on me as she held the different sizes up to my nose. I'm so glad she did bc the original size I thought about getting was not what I actually got. After going back with my piercer Mitchell, he showed me everything, explained how he did it and made sure I knew everything he was doing. He wanted to make sure I was ok bc the L stud is pierced from the front while the pop studs that they have at this shop are pierced from inside the nose. He explained the aftercare and when I walked out and paid, she had a cute little stack of cards and an aftercare paper. They also offer the piercing spray for a great price $8 for small or $12(?) for the bigger one. If I didn't already have the exact one at home I'd have gotten it for sure. Overall such a great piercing experience and I will absolutely be back when I'm feeling like it's time for my next one. If you're looking for piercings or jewelry in Utah *this* is the place and yes, it is worth the drive if you don't live nearby. Unfortunately, I only had one of my three piercings done here but I wish I'd had them all. Everyone I've come in contact has been so kind and fun, even their guest piercers. They have a great vibe and it's a very positive space. There is not a huge wait like there are with other studios either (which is great, but also leads to obtaining piercings you weren't planning on when you went in. I went in looking for naval rings and left with a nostril piercing once because their jewelry is really pretty). Their fees are very reasonable and their jewelry is the best priced of the few shops I've been to (it's not kiosk in the mall prices but it's high quality, beautiful jewelry that will last and is worth the investment). This is the only place I'll buy naval jewelry from. This weekend I went in to buy some lovely new opals for my naval and purchased a new barbell as well. There was a mixup in sizes and I didn't notice until I had put my new piece in. I was bummed because it was beautiful but too big compared to what I normally wear. I reached out (a little bit frustrated) and they got back to me quickly and worked with me to fix the situation. Their emails were kind, quick and they offered solutions. I am excited to go to the shop today and get the right size so I can show off my piece. My friend and I stopped by today to get nose piercings, and we didn't have an appointment so there was a bit of a wait (maybe 30-45 min max). Wasn't a problem for us as we anticipated that possibility and as moms, we didn't mind a longer break from our daily responsibilities lol. I was next, and despite my nerves, It was super quick and a very slight, quick pinch and then it was over. We were given care instructions and purchased the solution there for convenience and was out the door, super happy with how everything looked and felt! I also really liked how she pierced with your breathing, so instead of focusing on when she was going to do it, I was focused on my breathing (she still gave me fair warnings so as not to take me by surprise, but I think it had a calming effect if you have anxiety like myself).
