Lloyd was hired to perform the home inspection as part of the sale of my home. He arrived an hour early (not a big deal to me, but others may have issues with this.) He began inspection on the outside of the home then worked his way inside. While inside the home, Lloyd made a considerable amount of noise - enough to wake my sleeping 10-month old daughter. Pots and pans can be removed from an oven, but it shouldn't sound like a car crash when doing so. He was also rough with other items around the home, slamming the auto-locking windows repeatedly. The auto-lock function works without the need for the window to be slammed. This is about the extent of what I observed from him. I decided to look past his unprofessional behavior & just get the inspection over with. My real issue with Lloyd came in the days following the inspection. We noticed several items around our home began having issues. First, our dishwasher became unsecure when it wasn't before. Then the sink handle in our bathroom came off. Lloyd noted our stove was missing the bracket that secures it to the wall. That is fine, but the stove also wasn't rocking back & forth previously. We may not have had the bracket, but it was resting against the wall in a much safer position than how Lloyd left it. I still decided not to say anything until we found a major water leak underneath our kitchen sink! It appears the piping was shifted or became loose & was never secured again. When I called Lloyd to notify him of the above issues, he took no responsibility whatsoever and was quick to rush me off the phone. The issues occurring are not what upset me, but the response I was given made it clear what kind of a person Lloyd is. It's not mere coincidence that all of these items fail within a few days of each other, when they've never given us trouble before. Your job as a home inspector is to inspect the home. While you should note safety hazards as part of your inspection, the home should not be LESS SAFE than when you entered. I would never do business with LLB & would advise anyone I know to steer clear. read more
