The spasms had stopped and I was able to stand up straight. Not long after that I had a migraine that would not go away. It was intense and I wondered if the same lady could use pressure point to help me. Did she ever! I paid for 20 minutes. In ten the pain had stopped and in 20 I was 100% A-Okay. i know the place is quite basic and people will think about happy endings, but I received legit help. Her English was near-zero, but whatever. I spent 3months in Thailand getting rubdowns from Bangkok to Koh Lanta. I've spent the past 10years traipsing all over NYC and half the world getting kneaded and stretched and can honestly say the massage I received from Judith was in the top 3 massages of my life. Just a wonderful experiences all the way around. Trips back home can be stressful - thank God for massages. From the moment I set up the appointment - texting back and forth with Judith she was nothing but kind, warm, genuine and interested in helping me feel better. Very rare find. VERY RARE. Her space is located in the most charming old house and has a very good vibe to it. The table she does her treatments on is heated and serves to make the experience that much more enjoyable. Judith took the time to inquire about my current issues - a killer neck knot and stress all along my right side - and gave me a sheet of stretching exercises that can help me open up a tricky psoas muscle. So thoughtful. Throughout the massage she checked in to make sure the temperature and pressure were okay and was in tune with me to be able to interpret my murmurs and increased pressure when I mumbled "more would be good." I had never had singing bowls as part of a massage and let me just say this: wow. So cool. I've been interested in sound therapy and after the work done with Judith I will definitely be seeking it out. The experience, for me - was borderline spiritual and in my opinion, for me, that's what it takes to earn the ranking of a 5-star massage - and a 5-star massage therapist. Judith brought me a bottle of water and offered me samples of an ointment to use on my sore traps to close out the session. I floated back to my car and once inside immediately began drafting this review. It was that good. My Dad - who has only had one other massage in his WHOLE LIFE - was interested in going after hearing me gush about the experience. He LOVED it. He said his feet never felt so good! I found exactly what I was looking for on my sleepy weekend get-away on the winter coast when I stumbled across Hand and Spirit two blocks from my B&B, and scheduled an appointment with Judith. The business slogan? "Life is good...massage makes it better!" Agreed! Judith was warm and welcoming from the second I stepped in the door. The small space is cozy and warm and instantly relaxing. I had a one hour therapeutic massage combining aromatherapy oils, yoga toes (hot stones between my toes), an amethyst biomat and bamboo fusion (hot bamboo used to smooth out tight muscles). Judith customizes each massage to the needs of her client and lets the energy in their body guide her. I could literally feel the energy in my body move and change. I was amazingly relaxed throughout the massage and when it was over I felt happy and energized - a wonderful combination. After my session I also purchased some of the wonderful homemade herbal remedies in the waiting area - a lavender and flaxseed eye pillow, lavender sachets, a de-stress body mist mixed by Judith and and Judith's balancing herbal tea remedy. My only regret is that I live 3 hours from Judith. Anytime I am within a one hour radius I will make my way here for an appointment. And I may take a trip out just to get a massage! This was really a wonderful experience and hard to completely put into words. I highly recommend Judith to anyone looking for a little extra relaxation while in the Beaufort area.
