I went to Tony & Guy to have my hair done for prom back in the day and was NOT impressed with the work or the attitudes. So since then, I've generally avoided doing anything other than buying a box of color on sale at CVS to spruce up my natural boring mousy brown hair and trimming it every so often myself. I've been getting by with the basics so that I'm at least put together enough to not look like a lagoon creature every day. Definitely time for a life upgrade, amirite?? I searched for salons in my area and came across a few, but Meraki Salon stood out based on their before and after photos. Seeing the amazing work the ladies actually do at Meraki squashed any fears I had about ending up with yet another disaster on my head. And all the positive reviews helped a sista out too. Rose is like my dream hair stylist. She was sweet, funny, professional, and above all else an amazing hair ARTIST. She totally listened to what I wanted and my concerns then gave me excellent advice and incredibly useful tips about doing my hair. I was completely at ease with her and ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NEW HAIR. I had a rather dramatic (for me) color change from my crappy mousy brown to a red/blonde ombre. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I love it and I've gotten compliments from just about everyone who's seen the new 'do. Rose blew me away with her skills and personality. After wearing strip lashes for years, I decided to try out lash extensions for a more permanent,…read morelower-maintenance lash look, so I booked my first appointment at Amazing Lash Studio in Fairfield. After spending (way too much) time researching lash styles on Amazing Lash Studio's website and Instagram, I had a very clear vision of the look I wanted. I even came prepared with my favorite strip lashes and some of my best selfies ‍ so I could give my stylist a visual reference of my lash goals. Since I was booked with a Master Stylist, I felt confident that we were on the same page going into the appointment. Unfortunately, I spent the rest of that afternoon experiencing some pretty serious lash lamentations. The lashes themselves were well applied and good quality, but they just weren't the look I thought I had asked for. I was hoping for more of a cat-eye effect with extra length and volume toward the outer corners, but they ended up looking more evenly rounded across the eye than I envisioned, and the curl was much stronger than I'm used to. After I washed my face for the first time, the curl relaxed a bit, and I started getting more used to the style, but I also noticed some of the lashes on the outer corner of one eye weren't sitting quite right and seemed a little loose. I'm not someone who typically complains or asks for things to be redone, but after investing in my first set of lash extensions, I felt like I owed it to myself to at least ask if there was a way to get a little closer to the look I'd originally envisioned. So, the next day, I reached out to the studio--and this is where my experience completely turned around. Olivia, the manager, was absolutely wonderful. She was the one who answered the phone when I called, listened to every concern I had, and offered to fit me in as soon as possible for an adjustment appointment. When I came back the next day, she greeted me at the front desk and immediately took the time to talk through my concerns in person. As a first-time extension client, I wasn't even sure whether what I wanted was realistically achievable, but Olivia explained that extensions and strip lashes simply have different limitations. At the same time, she assured me they would do everything they could to get me closer to the style I had in mind before pairing me with a different stylist, Annie. Annie was fantastic. She carefully evaluated my current set, looked through my inspiration photos, explained the changes she could realistically make, and worked with me to create a result that better matched what I had originally envisioned. We had a great chat as she worked, and I left so much happier with my final results! I was also incredibly appreciative that there was no charge for the adjustment appointment. I'll admit I was a little nervous that I'd have to pay all over again or be charged a touch-up fee, but instead they simply wanted me to leave feeling confident and satisfied. Throughout the entire second appointment, they never made me feel like I was being unreasonable or overly picky. It was obvious that they genuinely wanted to work with me until I was happy with the final result. I made sure to leave Annie a tip because I truly appreciated the extra time, care, and attention she put into making things right. I'm still deciding whether lash extensions are my thing (I may always be a strip lash girl! ), but regardless of that, I walked away incredibly impressed by the customer service at this location. They didn't just provide a service--they listened, communicated, educated, problem-solved, and made sure I felt valued as a client. There is a 15 min. grace period. While enroute I received a call from the front desk self…read moreproclaimed manager asking me when I could re-schedule. I presumed I had missed the grace period only to look at my watch post call and see that I was still within timeframe when she called. When I called back to make her aware she began blowing and cying and insinuated I was lying. I made her aware of her behavior and she said the call was recorded. I was excited because it would identify exactly was she said in her call. I asked the matter be tiered to the owner and now 3 weeks out I still haven't received a call. I called as a reminder and the front desk said the owner was on vacation. As of Jan. 05 I have yet to receive a call. In addition, a resource / front desk utilized my personal information to send me an unsolicited email with the terms and conditions. I responded with a cease and desist stating that I had not requested any documents. My request has only been to have the owner contact me and to hear the "recording" so that the $35 fee would be returned or credited as I had clearly been defrauded. Paying customers deserve to be treated with respect without the harassment, blowing and cying. I would recommend a kiosk replacing the front desk staff. Albeit, there may be technical difficulties it would not lie, harass, or have behavioral issues. Next steps for me are necessary to dispute the charge. Please do not answer your phone when anyone from this location calls within your 15min grace. They can speak with you upon arrival and by all means ask to have the conversation recorded or record it yourself to protect yourself.
