We completed all documentation in March of 2024, were approved, had the home appraisal and Loan Snap never closed the loan despite follow up emails from my husband and I for six months including an email to the CEO who promised to follow through but never did! Horrible. My HR made an obvious error when they verified my income. They forgot to include my commissions. The agent Roxie would not even push back at underwriting. My W2 and paystubs proved that was a human error by my HR. (not happy there either, but we are all human). So at the end of the day they decided I couldn't afford a house I bought 4 months ago even though I now earn more? Had to start all over with a new loan company that has already verified my income properly and waiting on a new appraisal two weeks later because Loansnap wouldn't share the original appraisal. I would give no stars if that was possible. My experience mirrors that of the negative reviews here (I wish I had checked prior to starting the process). Same canned messaging, lack of communication, and horrid customer service others have mentioned, as well as lots of turnover with loan agents. The real kicker was this: Appraiser came on-site very quickly after starting the loan process. Then, weeks dragged into months with no progress. At some point the appraiser texts me, asking a couple of questions so that he can send the official appraisal to LoanSnap. Me: "You did the appraisal months ago, why was this never completed?" Him: "Talk to your lender. They initially put it on hold and just released the hold today." From start to finish my 'very standard' refi took almost six months. Terrible experience. Waste of time. Quoted a low rate for a refi (via LendingTree, for LoanSnap). But when I clicked Apply -- and after I had taken the time to upload the documents requested -- I was advised LoanSnap could not actually deliver the rate quoted. Incredibly frustrating. Note: LoanSnap's updated guidance was not based on a review of any documents I uploaded, which would have confirmed the financial details I provided Lending Tree (e.g. credit score, income, etc.). Terrible experience. You are led to this company if you fill out a mere questionnaire and click "see your rates". Nothing could be farther from the truth. From here the hounding starts; the website freezes, text and calls start. You cannot get rates! If your model is have a qualifier call to ask a ton of questions, then pass you to the senior loan person for the sales close then state it up front. Your model feels devious which makes me wonder about your company through the process. I'm not handing out or UPLOADING income verifications and any stuff before I know your rate beforehand!!!! That's like going to the store getting the merchandise in your cart then learning the price at the cashier after you have handed them your credit card. I would recommend full rate transparency early or better yet on your site.on so consumers can make a decision based on the facts! If material facts then the customer has to be aware but if it's clean it should be easy. You have a horrible model! read more

This is a very interesting review so I will try to articulate it the best I can. We started out with a not so positive experience with DLJ Financial. Needless to say, they were not able to service our needs. Since we were less than unsatisfied I wrote a lengthy review here on Yelp that I will admit was pretty rough but mostly accurate. I honestly and whole heatedly use Yelp to try positively impact businesses and individuals using praise and scorn. I believe this gives them the opportunity to continue doing business in a certain manner or address the concerns I point out. Immediately following my initial review the Director of Production, Glenn, and our Mortgage Broker reached out to try and mitigate the situation. I spoke on the phone for 26 minutes with Glenn discussing not only the situation, but how they could possibly help us in other ways. Glenn also took this as an opportunity to coach and grow his team using the information at hand. This is quite possibly the best negative experience follow up I have ever had with a business. I really hope the team grows from this experience and I would like to say thank you to Glenn. Glenn has soft skills and industry specific skills that will make his current and future teams grow and prosper. Thank you Glenn. For now I will rate at 3 stars. If DLJ follows up in six months I will move it to four stars even if we do not require their services. So they followed up and said they didn't offer HELOC options anymore. Then I reached out to who I thought was the director. I was informed he wasn't there anymore and that they did offer HELOC programs. Shocker. Then he says the cost for the HELOC is $6k. Chase offers one for $100. Come to find out, hence the name change from DLJ to loan snap, they did somewhat of a hostile tale over and within months of buying the place let 18 people go including the founder according to my source. Bad ethics if you ask me and if that is indeed true. I'm staying away from loan snap. read more

They locked me in for a rate and kept me on the hook saying they were really busy but were getting to my refinance. This went on for 5 months! All the while they were requesting info from my current mortgage company and the cost was passed on to me with a $30 monthly charge. Well, 5 months later, I realized that they just didn't want to commit to the rate that they locked in so they were just going to leave me in the lurch while asking me for updated pay slips every couple of weeks. Found another lender who matched the rate and am closing in less than 45 days. A complete waste of time and energy. I would have missed out completely on the low refinance rates if I hadn't start shopping again with reputable companies. read more

Had a terrible time with LoanSnap. Cancelled our application with them. Five weeks in and there was no progress on our loan. Today for the first time since Sep 2, 2020, I talked with our loan officer Manny Alvarez and he said the Underwriting Department was under new management and they are restructuring. After seeing all of the other negative YELP reviews about LoanSnap regarding the lack of progress with their loans and the lack of professional, personal communication, they too are experiencing, it is clear this company is in CHAOS. My recommendation is to AVOID using LoanSnap. I would give them negative stars if I could. read more

Absolutely the worst mortgage company I have ever dealt with! This is my 4th home and my 5th refinance of those homes. I am not an expert but that makes 9 times I have gone through the loan process and this is definitely the worst! I turned in all of my information and records on the very 1st day and they told me all I had to do was to sit back and the system would take care of the rest. I was told to keep an eye on my email and to access their portals every once in a while. That was over 7 weeks ago and still they say it will be another 2 to 3 wings. Once I submitted my initial inquiry on Lending Tree for my home refi, I was inundated with offers from many loan services offering varying rates. Armed with a spreadsheet to keep track of the numerous offers, I shopped around for my home refi with cashout, looking for the best rates with the lowest closing cost and the greatest cashout value. (This approach is the best way to make side-by-side comparisons) LoanSnap was among the offers from the many loan services. What differentiated this offer was LoanSnap agent, Rozie McCarter, saying she could close me in 15 days! Other loan agents were just as skeptical when I mentioned it and said 15-days was not possible, they also requested a copy of the Loan Estimate to see if they could beat it. The Loan Estimate provided was the best in the field of offers, so I took a chance with Rozie. After uploading all my supporting documents via their website, I started the countdown. As a relative newbie in the Refi Arena, I had many questions and concerns. Rozie was very patient in answering my questions, and addressed my concerns via LoanSnap's website chat. The chat application was helpful in keeping track of the historical events of the loan process, although a print or download feature would have been helpful. True to her claim, 15-days and many forms filled-in later, I was sitting at my dining table signing the closing documents with a notary! This company utilizes "Neighbor Spoofing" methods to trick potential customers into answering their calls. They received my # from LendingTree. Case in point: I have a Baltimore, MD are code RESERVED for cellphones. (I got the # in 2004). I moved to California in 2010. DLJ FInancial is based in Southern California. Any company that is willing to spoof/change their phone number, and furthermore do it to convince busy prospective customers that a "local neighbor/business" is calling them IS UNETHICAL. If on first contact they are willing to lie and deceit, imagine what the mortgage/equity/HELOC process will be like? By voluntarily and knowingly making it look like the phone# they call from is local to you -- you un-earned my business from the get-go. read more

Terrible experience. 8 weeks and still no approval. Sent error ridden initial disclosure statement then I would not sign so they withdrew that. Never could send another initial disclosure after over a month. Over 60 documents sent, wait a week then ask for something more, then another week same thing, then again then again. Finally, asked for a business license which I am not required to have. Withdrew my application and asked them to release my paid appraisal (35% loan to value) they agreed to do that same day---8 days later and requests for updates each day with no response. Run away---no one is in charge of process so everyone can point somewhere else. read more

This was the worst mortgage company I have every worked with. I opened my loan application in August 2020 because they had favorable reviews. Or so I though until I dug deeper. Many of the reviewers had a similar experience. The company promised low rates and quick closing. The low rates may have been real, but that does one no good if there is no closing. It is now December 28 and Loan Snap still has not closed our loan. We received extension after extension. Fortunately, I opened an application with Quicken in November (while keeping my application open with LoanSnap) and the Quicken loan closed in about 30 days. I just wish I had made this move a lot earlier as it means a savings of $500 a month in my mortgage. Stay away from LoanSnap -- they promise much and deliver little. read more

Not sure if this company is a scam or not. But I entered some info on the Lending Tree site and immediately got a call back from a rep with Loansnap. She kept telling me they worked differently from other lenders and offered a different "experience". Started asking me a bunch of questions, mostly personal, as to why I wanted a loan and how it would benefit me. I told her I already had a few quotes from the major competitors and just wanted their best rates. She kept asking me why I would benefit from saving money? Who asks that question? What is this, a dating site? Got angry and told her they couldn't help me and she agreed. Thank goodness I didn't give them any personal info. read more

My husband and I worked with Olivia Escalante for a couple of months, with our refi. During that time we were under the impression that we would be approved according to her, when she knew about our history. I called here was given the runaround with phone calls, i had not received any feedback from anyone. I got so frustrated that i called the front desk and ask for her, they stated that she was at her desk, i inquired as to why she was not answering i got no reply. Finally after numerous attempts i finally was able to communicate with her. She gave me hardly any feedback. I called her manager he was as vague as she was. Maybe the worst experience ever in getting a mortgage. Here why: 1. All info need from me to get a mortgage was submitted in 6 hours. 2. Only info ever supplied to me by LoanSnap was through the same text #, saying "check your status". 3. Calls to them weekly (from me) about status of loan. Same answer every time, "we have historic volume and are working on your loan". 4. 5 weeks now, no information, no communication and LoanSnap has no clue where the status of the loan is in the process. Customer Service: Overall friendly customer service. No problem here. Process: Typical process to submit paperwork and documents, I got approved based on my 750 credit score, etc. I submitted all and paid $400 for an appraisal ( Not refundable. They never told me that). I waited 4 weeks for an answer expecting that everything was ok since they told me that my credit score was outstanding. Outcome: They sent me a letter stating that my loan was denied. No call from the agent and no calls back after leaving voicemails. The reason: loan-to value ratio too high. This could have been easily worked out by readjusting the loan value. But I was totally ignored and no option or whosoever. I wasted 6 weeks of process, $400 and 1 hard inquiry in my credit score. This place sucks! After a quick launch to begin the refi process it all went downhill. ZERO communication, I have to assume they lost documents since I had to furnish them 2-3 times. They sent a notary with the docs, had us sign, and some things we refused since it didn't apply. And the notary was changed at the last minute. Again, we were not notified. Too many people emailing you asking for financial info and not once did they pick up a phone. Seems like a scam to obtain financial info that will later be sold to someone who will be stealing from your accounts. I do not trust this "company" at all. Find another loan company---Impossible to deal with!! Don't be mislead by the people that are the ones that talk to you, they are trained to try and make up for the impossibly anal underwriting team that wants everything except your first born prior to funding. Example: My checking account has both my wife's and my name on it. Yet they wanted a letter from my wife telling them that I have access to an account that from the documents that I provided to them has my name on it. That is just an example of the absurd attitude this underwriting department has, just scratching the surface! Every little deposit, down to one that was for $150 dollars, they wanted documentation where that deposit came from! There are many places to get your refinance done, go elsewhere! I shopped online refinance lenders for weeks before selecting LoanSnap. They had the best rate with the least out of pocket expense. My loan officer, Cameron was quick to answer my questions by email or text. He helped me through my own misunderstanding about primary versus investment property. Although I would still argue the point, Cameron explained three separate options, all of which were to my benefit. Once I made the selection, the process was streamlined. These guys are the absolute worst and deserve "zero" or "negative" rating. I started my loan application with LoanSnap on 07/14/2020 giving all the documents and stating our income to the last penny and today (10/02/2020) I get a call, they can't do my loan. All the documents were submitted before 07/20/2020 and we signed off the initial edisclosures on 07/20. It is ridiculous they inform me after 81 days that my loan can't be done.
