Loblaws is trying to offer cheaper fare to choose from. Unfortunately, it is all garbage that is unfit for human consumption. Their No Name fully cooked meatballs for example. They don't taste like meat and are just repulsive. After tasting a couple, I threw out the package. Now I see they are offering cheaper hamburgers made with the same ingredients. They are inedible. Shocking that Loblaws think it's okay to sell this fake garbage full of water, unhealthy fillers, and just enough meat to legally call it a meat product. I guess they think poor hungry people are stupid or desperate enough to eat garbage. Screw them. read more

this Loblaws has allot of parking, Joe Fresh and a garden center. Also don't forget the Starbucks in store as well. I find the produce is usually very fresh. This location is not so busy in the evenings as I prefer shopping when there are less people around just for safety during COVID. read more

This is a really nice clean store and usually the produce is good but this is the second time I have bought fish (Salmon) which when I unwrapped it was definitely bad, bought two separate packs and they are both off . I rang the store to advise them but I recommend you ask the fish counter staff to unwrap the pack for you before you buy, Salmon food poisoning is the worst ! read more

I think of this store as a very good example of how to offer grocery essentials all the way to premium offerings, in one attractive package. Since the profiteering hoopla called out on Loblaws in the last year or so, there seems to have been some moderation in the pricing of many basics. Perhaps it's simply the overall trend to slowing inflation (and outright deflation in some goods) but it seems that the negative feelings around the pricing model are being listened to by the company. Also there's a fair bit of competition around this Leslieville location: FarmBoy, Fresh & Co to name but two... I like this store's layout and aside from occasional longer waits at the checkouts, there's not much here to criticize in my view. read more

The quality of the wrapped produce is quite poor. Never any cored pineapples. The fish area stinks. Moldy produce sometimes. Living lettuce is super cute. Ok cheese selection. Friendly cashiers. Some staff don't know where stuff is, some do. Usually not busy when I go in. Decent sales. No lineups usually. Self-checkout. Please stop selling moldy food! There are much better Loblaws in the city, e.g. Maple Leaf Gardens. That's the best one. Leslie, you should copy them, they're doing it right. To be honest, the produce quality at this location feels more like no frills. Where are my frills? I like frills. I shouldn't hate on no frills, I've never seen moldy food there. So gross. #pandemicreview This Loblaws location has gotten the right health and safety protocols in place almost since the start of the pandemic. I feel safe shopping here and they have really embraced the new normal for a while. They have seniors hours, priority entry for healthcare workers, and priority access to those needing to go directly to the pharmacy for prescriptions. This location has done a great job in creating a queue line that has all the 6 feet apart markings so people stay safe. They have the carts easily accessible near the queue line area so you don't have to go too far. You may choose to wipe down the cart with your own stuff or wait until you get in the door for an associate to do it for you. Personally, I have never felt uneasy taking a previously used shopping cart outside. I just use the alcohol sanitizer they provide while they are wiping down the cart. They have arrows in all the aisles to promote one way travel and try to limit close quarters shopping. Some grocery shoppers are still stubborn and do not follow the guidelines. Just do your best to not judge them too harshly. The check-out line is thoughtfully organized with markings on the floor to promote physical distancing. All the cashier units have the Plexiglas in place and everyone is friendly given the circumstances. Groceries are always in stock here, even toilet paper now. They do limit some staple items to avoid hoarding which is reasonable. I'm sad that Loblaws has ended pandemic pay for their grocery workers because it's very clear that we are still in the crisis and they DESERVE more. Overall, I'm grateful that the staff and management of this Loblaws have done an excellent job during this strange time. read more

As far as Loblaws locations go, this one is pretty average. There are two entrances, with parking on either side. There is also a PC Financial pavilion and a Joe Fresh location. They used to have a Bulk Barn inside which I kind of miss, because they got rid of it. This place is a disaster on a Sunday. Out of stock on everything! If you need to come here, it's probably better to shop before the weekend. read more

This is kind of a weird Loblaws. To be honest, I am writing this review so I can include it in my list for Rotisserie Chicken. Okay first, the things that I don't like about this Loblaws: - limited bakery section. The one on Queens Quay is WAY better. No rosemary foccia buns, no Fred's bread, just not as much selection. - limited selection of PC frozen entrees. No frills on Gerrard has way more. - no onion sprouts. Just alfalfa sprouts. Queens Quay also has a better selection of sprouts. - no self checkouts. - ALWAYS a long line in the 8 items or less checkout. Okay, now that we have covered what I don't like, let's move on to the good things here: - like all Loblaws, it's clean here. - they have a lot of selection at the deli salads - broccoli slaw here is usually on 0.99 and at Queen's Quay it's usually 1.39. - a full bulk barn is attached inside this store - a full post office is attached inside this store (i love stamps. I am kinda lame that way. When everywhere else was sold out of the polar bears and penguins, this post office hooked me up!) - Excellent EXCELLENT rotisserie chickens. seriously, Loblaws as a general chain has top notch hot-food offerings, including rotisserie chicken. This place is like a loblaws on steroids! The layout is very nice with wide pathways and everything presented very neetly. The bakery and cheese/deli bar would make any foodie drool over. Their butcher shop sports a dry age locker for the red meat fanatics (and yes they do both prime and AAA-Angus). They have a large Joe Fresh boutique along with a huge cooked food counters - yes plural. There is the Asian inspired T and T with freshly fried noodle/rice dish or soup noodles. Also an extensive pizza and regular roast stations for chicken and other yummiest your appetite can request. Also the coffee bar will give starbucks or any other local java shop a good run for money in terms of price and quality. read more

This location was once known colloquially as Galen Weston's Slopbucket. A convoluted mess of rotting fruit and expired perishables. A deadly parking lot full of speeding vehicles sneakily trying to subvert the neverending construction on the avenues outside. Then something changed. They started remodelling the interior to match their Maple Leaf Gardens flagship location. And they started better organizing that which was once hidden in the depths of grocery store lunacy. And they opened up a wide range of hot table and take out options. And they reversed what we assumed was their previous policy by actually starting to stock quite a bit of fresh food. Assuming you can live through the real-life Frogger that is traversing their parking lot.. a welcome surprise now exists inside. read more

This is by far the worst Loblaws out of all the Loblaws. There are very few things, if anything, that it has going for it. It seems as though it may have once been good but it has gotten rid of some of the positive things that previous reviews mentioned and it doesn't seem like it has kept up with the growing population in the neighbourhood. I tend to really like Loblaws as a grocery store. Despite the sometimes ridiculous prices I'm still enticed by Loblaws because of their well displayed produce, good house brand products and PC point loyalty rewards system. But the Leslie/Lakeshore Loblaws has made me completely rethink my allegiance to the brand. So first of all to update some of the information posted in the other reviews. This location is no longer open 24hrs. Secondly there is no longer a Bulk Barn in this location. Both of which would be redeeming qualities if they still existed. The appearance of the store is older, that's what it is. It would be much better if the parking lot and entrance ways were designed a bit better but it's okay as it is. Right now it's split and it's somewhat confusing to get from one side of the parking lot to the other. Regardless there's always parking. As for the store itself. There is not a single time when I leave this location happy. I always walk out frustrated and having to go to another store because without exception there is always something they are missing. We're not talking obscure things here. Yesterday it was limes and zucchini. Last week it was ground turkey and boneless skinless chicken breasts. The week before it was every brand of plain greek yogurt. I don't know if it's that they just haven't realized a whole host of new residents have moved into the neighbourhood but for some reason they just cannot get the stock right. The more I have to go to a second store to pick up relatively simple items that they don't have the more I just want to completely skip this store.... but I don't because of my ridiculous loyalty to the brand and the close proximity this store is to my home. To top it off, they also can't seem to get the cashier staffing right. If you go anytime around dinner the lines are ridiculous. By this point I'm usually already so frustrated that I haven't got a bunch of the stuff on my list and now I have to stand in a long line only to have to then go to the grocery store across the street to get more items that Loblaws didn't have. The customer service at the food counters is beyond horrific and if they do ever notice you waiting there they are completely dumfounded by the fact that you might want your lunch heated up. They are rude, ignorant and all around don't have a clue what they are doing. (This isn't referring to the young people as much as it is the old.) The sushi/rice counter... I got rice on more than one occasion that was a literal mush with a couple of sparsely placed scraps of chicken thrown in and overcooked wilted veggies. The ordering process is quite chaotic and god forbid you are allergic to anything there because there's a good chance you'll get someone elses bowl. It would be dire circumstances before I EVER go back there for lunch, likely opting for Timmies or wendies processed food over the atrocious customer service and stale, old, terribly cooked food from loblaws. read more

Fresh New Look but not new attitude in the fashionista store Manager. Does he ever stop talking on his cell phone and pay attention to what happens in the store. For years I could always depend on this Loblaws location at Christmas to get my Christmas Stollen. The brand Kuchenmeister Edel-Marzipan Stollen is very difficult to find but it was always carried at this Loblaws. Now with the fancy new bake shop, not only do they not carry it, but when a helpful staff went to the manager to ask if it was available, apparently they were told he had never even heard of it before? What was he doing all the other Christmas seasons when his store was selling it, if he does not know it now? Also the take out counter has decided to go heavy on the salt all the roasted chicken, so much for the healthy take on everything. Final comment only to say how said it really is that all this money was spent to update the store but just a few blocks away the bakery outlet store was closed down. Too bad some money could not have been saved to at least keep that shop running or relocated somewhere else in the area. read more

I liked this Loblaws when i walked in for the first time the other day. What was supposed to be a quick stop to pick up a couple specific items, turned into a spontaneous mini-shop. I can't help it! When i see a deal, i must buy! This Loblaws is pretty spacious inside, with big produce, deli and prepared food sections. Clean and bright. We picked up a few prepared items that were really yummy (hot veg samosas & pakoras), but it took more than a couple mins to get served at the counter. What i really loved about this location, though, was the Bulk Barn right in the store! I didn't have time to go in there (i always loose track of time in the Bulk Barn), but I'll definitely be back. I also like that they have a nice big parking lot for the drivers, and is accessible by TTC for us transit goers. read more

Maybe I've never noticed before, but I'm in love with this location of Loblaws for the following reasons: - open 24 hrs , close to my work - has a big prepared food section that includes sushi (got a 12 pc rolls for $8.99) , and $7 entree combo with 2 sides (but seems to close in the late night), has other foods for heating up in a microwave, and some quiche/pie selections that I could also take to the office kitchen - has a gigantic natural / organic foods selection which has everything I usually buy at Whole Foods or Big Carrot including my soy and dairy free buttery spread, gluten free waffles, Rowe Farms eggs ($4.29) and Pacific Foods organic Almond Milk All these things are very rarely seen in other Loblaws locations - also has a huge shelf of natural and herbal remedies/supplements including Traumeel, Bach Flowers. They don't have Nordic Naturals. Only one brand of Echincea and Golden Seal drops. - brightly lit, good signage - big but not over powering - friendly staff - lots of bread choices, BUT no Spelt bread :( - They have Stonemill's Spelt bread (but I don't like it bc it also contains rye flour) - they have Sha Sha Bread's Spelt bread crumbs, and the Ginger Snaps, but unlike other locations of Loblaws they don't have the bread. I still can't understand why. - they do have many conventional breads in many different types of grains - bulk barn (not 24hrs) built right into the store! One stop shop - really big and lots of selection for beauty and body/hair products if you're not into collecting Shoppers Optimum points Dammit, I came here 2 days in a row and spent money I shouldn't have. This Loblaws would normally get a 2.5 from me but it's relatively close. As Kat F & Susan C's fave writer Dave Eggers says "Laziness empties my wallets." The good: Clean. well stocked with green cleaning products and vegan food products. The bad: There now sits an empty Jumbo Video store attached to it, which is chock full of soft drinks and the like. You can't convert this into a Joe Fresh? What's with the insane towering product displays? Thanks, Christo. Lemme get my 7 storey ladder to retrieve those mesquite flavoured potato chips for you. Plenty of parking, a Bulk Barn, Wine Rack and Dollar Store all on the premises! a Wendys-Tim Horton's hybrid on the west side of Leslie and an adjacent Burger King perfect for Whopper Wednesdays. The only thing that could give it another star would be if they brought Jumbo Video and their free popcorn offering back back. Now that I think of it a Jumbo Video tee would be a great retro find. Loblaws is a tad pricey, if your in the area and are looking to tighten your wallet a bit you might want to consider nearby Price Choppers or even T & T Supermarket where the dollar tends to go further. read more

This is the Loblaws I frequent when I don't care too much about how fancy and new my shopping experience is. It loses points for being a dowdy Loblaws - but it has a bulk-barn in it. I heart bulk-barn. The cashiers tend to be on the stupid side, but I can get the exact amount of what I need for a good price (and don't tell anyone, but they have oodles of candy!) Now that I've reviewed bulk barn back to Loblaws. It's a convenient location, and beside bulking up your barn, you can also bank, dry clean, mail things AND get groceries. My wife stopped here to buy dinner for herself and a girlfriend to eat on our boat at the nearby marina. They got ribs, which looked great but when they were served it was obvious that they were many hours, if not days old and they were absolutely impossible to eat. Truly, they were like eating wood. Hopefully the attached pictures show what I'm describing. (hmmm doesn't look like I can attach pictures My wife ended up making a peanut butter sandwich to serve her guest. Disappointing and embarrassing. So everyone makes mistakes, but it's a measure of a company in how they deal with them. When she went back to Loblaw's, she was told "there's nothing we can do about it". She asked to speak with the manager and was questioned "why do you want to talk to him?". At this point, she gave up, which is what I'm suggesting you all do on this store, especially if you want good food and want to be able to trust the quality to serve to guests. read more

I'm with Geoffrey W - this store is kind of middle of the road for me. It's now open 24 hours though, which is helpful. And it does have a bulk barn (great for satisfying a sweet tooth), but they also have a fair selection of grain products, I bought millet, red quinoa, and some other stuff here. It's a bit easier to get to for me than the Queen's Quay location, although I prefer the brightness othe Queen's Quay store (but that store is often sold out of stuff). This is a slightly older, less fancy Loblaws compared to others in the area, but it gets the job done consistently. They have a pretty large selection of fruits and vegetables that are typically quite fresh although on the rare occasion they tend to run low supply wise. The one thing they sometimes lack is local produce from Ontario, instead opting for items from the US or Mexico. Generally speaking I've always been able to find what I need on the shelves and as of late they have had a number of items at reduced prices which is a nice surprise. Shelves are organized and typically well stocked. They also have a "club pack" and health food section for diversity. This location also has the extra bonus of a Bulk Barn, a dollar store, a post office, wine shop and a dry cleaner which are all handy and fairly decent shops. You really can't complain considering what a one stop shop this Loblaws tends to be. Best part - no infestations or health department problems like some of the other Loblaws in Toronto. read more

The problem with this store is it's horrible rude a$$hole customers. I am usually in a good mood specially shopping but every time I leave this store I want to thump someone. People walk into you, let their children scream, stop in the middle of the isles to yap on their phones and complain about everything. If you are an a$$ and you live in the area I would suggest being with your people and shop at this store. Neither the nicest nor the worst grocery store you're likely to go to. The location, at Leslie and Queen's Quay, is convenient for a wide part of the east end, being that it's where you might emerge from the DVP or the Gardiner on your way to Leslieville, East York or the Beach. It has all the usual Loblaws bits - a fish stand, deli counter, butcher counter, bakery. They have free cookies for children at the bakery counter. There's an attached Bulk Barn and Wine Rack. There's also a small dollar store. It has recently switched to being open 24h, which makes it that much more convenient, for some -- no worries that you'll go out and then discover that they're closed. So, basically, solid quality and lots of convenience make it a nice choice. read more

I've been shopping at this Loblaw's for more than a year now and I feel that there's a very good selection of fruits and veggies. They also offer good sales most of the time when I go in there's a sale going on but I wanted to specifically review this particular store for the date of January 3 which was a Sunday and it was a very good experience in terms of customer service. I don't want to go through the entire scenario but I will say that the woman at the self check out was helping everybody and actually she went above and beyond to help me find a particular product I was looking for in bulk and anyways she was able to process the item as if I was purchasing in bulk as opposed to charging me individually for each item. It was not exceptionally busy but she had a few people at the self checkouts and was professional and kind enough to help me. The next time I go in there I will make a point to get her name because she does deserve to be recognized. read more

I'll echo what other reviewers have said about the convenient location, spaciousness, wide selection, and abundance of parking at this loblaws. Large produce section. Many many interesting cheeses and a good deli counter. Attached to a bulk barn! I have strong President's Choice brand loyalty and this location has a great selection of all my favourites. It also has (most excitingly for me!) an entire freezer section filled with gluten-free stuff as well as a whole bunch of non-freezer gf stuff. The selection of gf pasta, bread, frozen dinners, waffles, cereal, breakfast bars, baking mixes and every other gf product you can think of is fantastic. Seriously. I think the gf selection rivals whole foods or the big carrot. That alone is reason to hit this loblaws for my big grocery trips. read more

***2.5 stars*** We were in the Leslieville area and stopped by to do some quick groceries before heading home. The location for this Loblaws is prime, close to Lakeshore and it has ample parking. One thing I noticed is that it has a bulk barn inside as well as a dollarstore. It is like shopping in a mini mall. Extra bonus is that is open 24 hours! The shopping experience was ok, the aisle ways were a bit cramped but well-lit. The store looked a bit run down, having my SO made the shopping trip bearable. It was sad to find out that there were COMPLETELY out of sugar (a basic product) in the baking aisle. It was a just a tad bit frustrating. There are definitely better Loblaws in the Toronto area, if you need something urgently and if you are in the area, feel free to stop by otherwise head to another Loblaws for a more positive shopping experience. read more

This review is specifically about the bakery. I have no issue with the store generally, but the bakery has messed up my birthday cake order 3 out of 3 times! The first 2 times, I arrived to pick up a birthday cake I had preordered and was told there had been some mess up and the cake hadn't been made. This happened two years in a row- I don't know why I went back! This time, I placed an order only to be called the next day and told they wouldn't be able to make my cake. They suggested transferring it to another Loblaws a fair distance away, which I was willing to agree to, but then when they read my order back to me I realized they had not correctly described the cake I'd ordered. I decided to go elsewhere! I have been told by others that this type of thing is not uncommon. Anyway, just to say I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for a cake. It's no fun to find out hours before your kid's birthday party that their cake wasn't made :( read more

Decent Loblaws store, but doesn't look so nice on the outside. If they'd re-do the outside to match the inside, it would be awesome. I also like that this Loblaws has both a Bulk Barn and a Post Office right inside the store. This location is smaller than some, so it doesn't have all departments (Joe Fresh) but it has what I need. Because its smaller, it's also easier to run in and out of when I only need a couple items. read more

Loblaws mission statement should be "Too Big To Care". I don't usually shop here simply because prices are minimum 30% to 50% more than any store in the area and that is minimum, plus they know nothing about customer care. The very fact they only have 3 stars mean 40% of the customers that bother to write a review, don't like it. They have a huge sign indicating that every check out will be open during the day on weekends means they know they have pissed off a lot of customers in the past with too few staff. Let me tell you something Loblaws, it is cheaper to keep a customer with good service than it is to win them back after bad service. Every once in a while I do wonder in to pick up a few things and nothing in the way of customer service has changed, they don't have customer service so I guess that means they have noting to improve upon. The older Asian gentleman behind the cash, he really needs to go. He is so moody and clearly doesn't want to be there, he does more damage than good. This store drives me crazy. It is in an excellent location and has tremendous potential but.... I can guarantee with 100% certainty that there will be at least one item on my shopping list that will be out of stock. This would be OK if it was an exotic item but I'm talking basic pretty basic food items (e.g. milk, bread) and in many instances multiple visits where there is still a "out of stock" sticker on the shelf. Haven't they heard of inventory control. There seems to always be a refridgerator that is broken or a bucket somewhere on the floor to catch a leak from the roof. In addition, the check out is a disaster since they changed from self serve bagging. It would seem that the cashiers were never informed of the change. As a result, they start to process the next order even though the previous customer's groceries are still in the bagging area, as the customer has not been able to keep up with the scanning of the food. Its a mess. To avoid having my groceries combined with the next customer's, I don't actually pay until all my groceries are bagged. The cashier stands by watching my work rather than helping out to keep the process moving. I have spoken to management about the problem. However, when I received the "Yes, the cashiers don't like the change...." response realized that it was unlikely to be addressed.. read more

Poor customer service. Overpriced items. Store is 'open' late but most of the specialty areas are closed early. So not really open late

I've dropped in to this location twice over the past three days to pick up lunch. The counter service is average for starters, but the self serve soup section is a joke. Half of the items aren't labeled or labelled incorrectly. Even though I was taking prepared food out they still charged me their infamous $0.05 bag charge. But the real kicker us they have only one outside small garbage bin and when I finally tracked someone down he told me to take it home or to Starbucks' garbage on the other side of the parking lot (they are not affiliated). $17 lunches and you have to take your garbage home (or to another business nearby!)
