As a smaller version of Longo's, they carry a lot of the same fresh produce and grocery items as the bigger Longo's stores - good variety and quality of products. Surprisingly they had jackfruit and bitter melon in stock too (so I had to get them!), which I thought would only be available at Asian grocery stores. The hot food bar usually has my favourite - sautéed / steamed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers, zucchini). Small store, but stocked with pretty much everything you need to make most meals. There are many To Go options ranging from pastas and pizza to stir fry kits and curries. Being in downtown Toronto prices are a little higher than the equivalent item in the suburbs, but otherwise I was impressed with the produce available here. read more

The pizza server on Feb. 20, 2024 @ 12:25 pm was very opinionated and in need of better customer service training badly!!!! Her demeanor can turn customers away. There was another lady in front of me and she did not get her pizza unscathed by her "can do better than this job attitude.". She was wearing a Burka (good thing, I did not see how annoyed she was when I specifically asked for a slice). By which she replied, "why, they are all the same!?". They were not. Some slices had more mushrooms which I had chosen. Shitty customer service. Frankly, she should find a different job since she feels serving pizza to customers is so beneath her. Give this job to someone who will serve customers with a smile and gratitude. Install a camera for further proof that this woman needs to be replaced ASAP. read more

I needed extra olive oil and lemon to make aglio e olio. Not a very big selection of items, but I was able to find olive oil and some lemons. They have fresh fruits and there was a lady cutting up fruits for fruit trays. They also have pre made salads and cold pastas for those on the go. This is a great place to catch covid. They make you line up to wait to pay on a ramp that is no more that five feet wide, while everyone passes by you. There is no way to social distance. If you want to get to most of the products in the store - you have to walk down that ramp past all the people lining up to pay. Twice I've gone in and left without things because I was not willing to go down the ramp past all the people lined up on it. They need to change this pronto and reconfigure the line-up placement away from the ramp - or close during covid. I had a 1/4 chicken dinner with veggie rice and side of veg which was mostly inedible. The chicken tasted weird and there was no seasoning at all on the rice or veg. The whole thing was dry from sitting on the heating plate. I am sure it has it's merits - But I was not able to appreciate them. read more

Terrible hot food table. I spent $30 on a clamshell container of dried, overcooked chicken, pasta and veggies. Absolutely outrageous and there's no way to measure the food yourself so you then get to the cash register and have a heart attack at the price. Worst experience ever!!! Was there to buy a cake for my friend's birthday today and about to take a photo of the cake (with my phone) to my friend because I don't know which cake she prefers. Then a female employee from Starbucks besides the bakery section shouted "NO PHOTOS" at me impolitely, while later another employee from bakery section stated she never hears about this policy. I complained this situation to store manger because I didn't see any photography restriction sign or policy in store or online. But he with disrespectful attitude argued that they cannot put every policy online or in store. After we finished the unpleasant conversation, the manger instantly shouted at the poor bakery employee (who told me she never hears no-photo policy earlier) to do her job. After all this. Months later Longo's has become my go-to grocery shop -- besides the vastness of Chinatown. Their produce is fresh and rotates frequently. They have a good selection of organic and generally healthy options. They're also on the ball when it comes to Silk products (my favourite Soy milk) which I have a devil of a time finding in other stores. Still too expensive to become a favorite of mine, but I'm digging the quality of food and service here. To anyone at Longo's reading: I will add another star to my review if you dismantle that ridiculous Starbucks kiosk. read more

The Mark By Longo's is not the most affordable supermarket, however, it is the closest to my work place. It wins by convenience. Mark By Longo has a confusing layout. I am still somehow noticing new groceries area after frequently the store at least once a week for 5 months. It is either a testament to their confusing layout or my lack of direction sense. Everything in this Longo's is slightly more expensive than Metro or Sobey's three to four blocks away. Understandably, the store is located in the downtown core with expensive rent. On a more positive note, you are able to find at least a few selection for each of the pantry staples. During lunch, a salad bar and a hot food bar are available by weight ($1.99 per 100 grams). They tend to be one of the better options for a "healthier" lunch in the area. After around 1:30 or so, the hot food items will be packaged in a container for $6-8. The staff are willing to warm up for the food for you free of charge. If you forget your breakfast, Longo's is a great choice for yogurt and bread. Organic rye bread) that is good for you but tastes like cardboard) is by far cheaper than Kitchen Table. Yogurt is slightly cheaper than the Marche Market at Eaton center. Ultimately, if you compare Longo's to competitors within the one to two blocks radius, the pricing is not outrageous. However, if you are saving up, I would recommend going the distance to Chinatown or Kensington Market. read more

Nothing special about this location except that it's close to my apartment. It's there when I need a quick place to buy things I may need but don't want to go to a grocery. Extensive salad bar. Produce and baked goods always seem to be fresh so that's a bonus. A bit more expensive than a no frills or food basics but I will continue to come back coz it's close and convenient. read more

Located in a very central location close to the Eaton Centre, one cannot expect a grocery store here to be overly big. This Longos is quite small and there is basically no space to shop. Staff are quite friendly though! The Good: 1. Location. Centrally located and easy to access. 2. Staff. Much friendlier staff than most locations. 3. Fresh. The food and produce is superb. The Bad: 1. Size. This can barely be considered a grocery store with how much it is. Isles are crammed and the queue system is outrageously long and awkward. 2. Prices. The cost of things in comparison to the other grocery chains is significant. 3. Selection. Obviously because of its size there is not a lot of selection and not a lot of stock even if they do have an item. Recommendation: you can get lunch or dinner for cheap - select a protein with two sides ($6 - no tax). read more

Although this is a small supermarket, it pretty much has all the essentials and great produce. It's also not as expensive as imagined a Longos downtown to be (it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the Metro on College and Yonge!). My favourite part about this place is the manager of this place (at least I think he is). He's always hovering around the meat section asking people if they need help and giving advice on what cuts to choose and how to cook certain meats. He definitely makes it a welcoming place. Went here 3 times for lunch last week, i really like it. The sandy's are cheap, filling and pretty tasty. The salad bar has a great selection. I particularly enjoy mixing the variety of salads with feta to make a monster quinoa, pasta and traditional greek. I live in the area and have shopped at this Longos dozens of times. A few things I've encountered: 1. DO NOT BUY THE THAWED FISH. 2/3 times I've bought fish here it was rotten. It seems like they leave it out for a few days on the shelf or someone working there is neglecting that area. Fish goes bad after 2 days in the fridge if you don't cook it. It was so bad one time I wish I went back and complained. I could have become very ill. A few times my roommate has had the same experience with the ground beef. I will only buy frozen meat from here now. 2. The bakery is bad at this location. I once bought the Longos brownie and it tasted like an expired stale chocolate bar. Today I went in to try the macaroons and the girl at the counter just glanced over and ignored me, before getting out of her cubical and walking around aimlessly. After waiting for 10 minutes to be served, I went down the street and took my business elsewhere. Very disappointing as other locations I've been to have been great. 3. I love this grocery store - it's a bit more expensive than your average store, but it's great for fresh produce, bulk nuts/snacks, fancy cheeses, fresh dips, and hot meals. They have a good salad bar that charges by weight - so be careful before tossing in those bulkier vegetables (tofu suprisingly light). It'd be a better lunch spot if they had more tables, or if it was located near a park - but if you work or live nearby, it's handy. Once upon a time, I lived in a hotel very close to this Longo's. The Longo's did not yet exist, but I'm certain it would have brightened my cafeteria-filled days if it had. I've had their pre-made standard fare for lunch a few times when I've been on the go near the Eaton Centre, but admittedly, I always wish I'd just hit the NYF at the Urban Eatery. You feel me? But I must give this (usually overpriced) grocery store props, though, because yesterday I popped in for something on the run and got a bottle of water and a banana in under a minute for $1.58. This Longo's is very conveniently located just down the street from work, so when I want something a bit different for lunch or when we need food/drink for meetings, I usually come here. While it looks small from the outside, The Market is actually quite a decent size, one arm has most of the pre-prepared foods, cold meals you can buy to heat up later and a very nice dessert section and a great looking meat counter. The other arm has all the fresh produce and drinks and snacks and whatnot. I've gotten lunch from here a few times and its about the same price as getting lunch anywhere else. They have a nice hot food counter (pay by the gram, 2.99/100g I think) which looked fabulous (but could get expensive in a hurry), and lots of nice prepared stuff. They have curries and salads and sandwiches and sushi all available to grab and go and I've never had any complaints about the food I've gotten from here. They also have a good section of fresh fruit out front of the store and usually a good selection of flowers, and there isn't much in the way of flowers in the downtown core that's affordable. Overall, its a good stop. The Metro is a bit too far for me to venture across for the odd food item and this place is closer and much nicer, so I'll be coming back here in future! read more

It's a small grocery store, and great for convenience if you live and/or work in the neighbourhood, which I do. Not a place to buy your staples, of course, but if you want some goat cheese and red pepper jelly (my go-to thing whenever I walk in there, it seems!), it's perfect. And yes, the produce, while a bit pricey, is great. Cashiers are friendly and competent. The only issue I've had -- once I got used to the weird layout of the store -- is the grumpy older man who seems to run the bakery counter. Their fruits. No one can beat their fruits! They are so fresh. Although they are on the pricier side, but they are really fresh. I tried saving a few penny going somewhere else to buy fruits but I end up coming back to longo to pay that few extra to have fresh fruits. It just doesn't taste the same! Longo's has the most amazing fruit ever! I don't know what they do to it but I'm guessing they inject sugar into their pineapples and strawberries. On a weekly basis I buy their strawberry, blackberry, kiwi, and pineapple fruit bowl for $8 it's a bit pricey but it's worth it. This location is tiny and can be hard to navigate due to its narrow aisles. The checkout line is also located on a narrow ramp. This place is more of a get in and get out kind of grocery store which is perfect for the downtown crowd. read more

Prior to this Longo's location opening, I had never stepped foot inside one. My regular grocery store is still Metro because they're open 24 hours and a much larger selection (plus I have a ton of Air Miles points LOL). However, when it comes to cooked foods, Longo's has them beat hands down. They have chicken, pizza and sushi specials during the week nights (haven't tried the wings yet) and it's excellent value and quality for your take home experience. Most of my grocery needs are met at the Metro but there are a few things that are better quality here (the deli) and produce although prices at Longo's are either the same or a tad higher. The Longo's stores are nicer looking, cleaner and well stocked compared to most Metro stores and comparable to the upscale grocery stores in the downtown. I'd give this location a 3.5-4 star rating primarily due to it being bit on the small side so they tend to run out of the cooked things otherwise my rating would be higher. If there were no Metro in the area, it would be my primary choice. read more

I ordered an apple crumble pie from this Longos and asked the girl (I think her name is Stephanie) I ordered it from if they would be willing to warm it up for me and she told me to asked when I pick it up and they would do it for me. When I went to pick up the pie an older lady was there so, I asked if she can warm the pie up for me and she told me NO. I even told her that I was told that by the girl yesterday that you would warm it up for me and she said "maybe she can, but I can't" I wish there was an option for no stars I love going to this Longos. The layout is a little funky. The selection is decent for the size, but I can't always find all of the produce and meat that I can find in a bigger Longo's (which is expected). It's suitable for a short grocery list. I love that there's a starbucks inside. The cashiers are efficient and make a long line move at a decent pace. I did get a not too friendly remark from the guy at the deli counter once (I only tried getting meat from the deli counter once). I was looking for a low sodium cold-cut and when I couldn't easily see one, I asked the guy behind the counter. He replied "They are all cured in salt, so NO there is nothing low sodium!" Oops sorry I asked. I obviously just walked away with that kind of response. I have always bought low sodium cold-cuts to answer me like that was incorrect and rude! I live around the area and this particular Longo's is definitely nice to have. The selection isn't too great mainly due to the small size of the store, however when I'm lazy and don't want to cook, it's nice to be able to simple head down and grab something ready. I love the chicken curry here, the oven baked chicken's nice as well. From what I've seen, the produce is usually fresh (ALOT better than Metro's) and the staff is terrific for a downtown store. As a visitor to Toronto. Food seamed acceptable. But as I was checking out, the cashier was very rood because I placed my handful of groceries down while she took care of the customer ahead of me. She roodly chastised me for not waiting back in the isle way which would block entry to the grocery section of the store. By the time I got back to the designed area both she and her partner were both available ,less than 5 seconds after the end of her lecture. I have been here for 5 days and every other interaction with Canadians has been the absolute best. read more
