This man knows his fish and I get the feeling he would be horrified if he ever sold something he wouldn't love himself! Emanuel was happy to cut a 2 pound fillet off a much larger fish and took great pains to remove every pin bone. It was literally a perfect piece of fish from a great little shop where everyone I saw was happy and smiling. Made me want to visit Haiti. I think that is where the owner and his friendly coworker Debbie are from. The store has some other items to round out a meal so it might be a one stop shop for dinner. We, of course, forgot a couple things so we stopped at The Fresh Market on our way home. Just to see the difference I checked out the fish counter. The store might look real snazzy but the fish didn't look nearly as good and was several dollars a pound more expensive. I also doubt the people serving it up have half the passion for their products. Emanuel told us he can get any type of fish we want to order overnight and even gave me his card with his cell phone number. We are new to the area but have already found the perfect fishmonger. Next time I went the girl at counter did not leave skin on even though I repeated it and showed what i wanted . she does not speak any English so next time I went the door was locked and I called the number and was told they didn't know where she was. So I decided to go one more time. Today again door locked but when I called she came out and unlocked door. I asked for brandino filleted and skin on - bc she doesn't speak English I put the translation on my phone and showed it to her. She fillet the fish and took OFF the skin which I didn't notice after she bagged it, until I got home. I will never go back there bc they don't speak English and don't read Spanish on my phone. Their prices are good but if you don't get what you ask for it's not worth the money saved or the 5 mile trip. Very disappointing and others should be aware before they go.she also tried to charge me sales tax - I told her no tax on food in Florida and she fixed it after speaking to owner. They only buy what they intend to sell that day and 2. The market is popular which could be a reflection on the quality. When I expressed my disappointment about their not having salmon, the person behind the counter assured me that there was something just as good or better for me to purchase. He was not wrong! He recommended the red snapper which was intimidating looking at it whole in the display but I said yes, I'll take it. The gentleman fileted the fish and handed it over to me. Let me tell you that was the best red snapper I've ever had. The location is in a strip mall with lots of parking and there was a little bit of a wait because another customer arrived at the same time I did. I was perfectly fine with that though. Its a little pricey but it was so worth it. Another thing I would like to highlight is that the place did not smell like fish! That is another win for this place!

Mike greeted us and was so informative an friendly, we picked the fish we wanted and he fileted it for us. We also baught the smoked swordfish, made on site . A few veggies and a jar of hunny and we were on our way. I am hooked!!!! The meal was amazing and this will be my weekly stop from now on! Thank you Mike!!! We could finish the shopping while waiting for the order to get ready. The place has a huge parking lot. The store is in progressive village. The traffic here is a lot lighter. They have a fish market where we can get fresh fish cleaned and cut in a way you like. The only minor complaint was that nobody was there to assist when I went. Maybe they were under staffed. This place is a must if you are Asian and need a big bag of rice. Count me as a regular customer here.
