After a recommendation from Brownie's Yacht Diver, we headed to Finster Murphy's for lunch. When you walk in, it looks like a market, which it is. I am a vegan, so I wasn't hopeful. You see fresh seafood everywhere. We were greeted right away and asked if they had salad or anything non-seafood and she directed us to the side refrigerator case. Wow! They had grilled eggplant, red pepper, artichokes, marinated fava beans and more. I asked for some beans, 1 of each of the above. She asked if I wanted it on arugula with lettuce, tomato, onion and their house vinegarette. I said yes. My husband got the fish & chips. They have a variety of bottled drinks. They have a few tables inside & outside. I personally enjoy the market/restaurant atmosphere. When you can see their fresh veggies, herbs and more, I feel better about what I'm eating. When my plate came out I was shocked. It looked so pretty and the roasted veggies were chopped. I fully expected them to just be on a plate, not plated as an upscale restaurant would be. My husband's was as expected for fish & chips. He was pleasantly surprised the fish was breaded, not battered and not greasy at all. He ate 1/2 of his lunch before I thought to get a pic of his for a review. He bought tuna salad to go. This is fresh tuna! NO cans. She even asked if we wanted a bag of ice to keep it cool. Although this place is a fish market, I recently learned that it also will cook and serve food. They have a great variety of local, fresh caught fish and it's fairly priced. I wanted to give a 5 star rating so badly because the seafood we buy here is always fresh BUT the other day my husband and I spent $300+ on Stone crab claws and steamed shrimp for lunch (which we do 1-2 times a month during stone crab season). It was pretty warm outside so we decided to eat inside since all the tables were empty. We took the four top table since we wanted extra room with all the food we had gotten. The server informed us that the owner said if a group of 4 comes in we'd have to move and give them the table. We just spent $300! I was offended. I mean if the place was full I could maybe understand. We asked for him to reconsider and she returned and says no. So we sat outside. Needless to say NO ONE ever showed up for that table. I felt there was zero appreciation for our patronage. He walked by us a few times and not once said hello or check in or thank us for being their customer. Just walked out of there... I just moved to the neighborhood and enter with my service animal and was immediately met by a rude judge mental lady who said uhh we don't let dogs in here... where there's like food being eaten. And I said he's a service animal and she just stared at me... my boyfriend proceeded to take the puppy outside and all the customers were staring at me and she just kept staring at me and wouldn't say anything to me or ask if I needed help so I walked out.... A service animal is allowed anywhere and he has proper documentation. Lastly, he was just in the supermarket and butcher next door and they were thrilled to have him. We will never return. Customer service was abysmal. In the case that someone does bring in a dog that's not a service animal there is a nicer more courteous way of handling the situation instead of causing a scene and being nasty. read more

Incredibly fresh fish market - with many different kinds of seafood. It may seem expensive, but once you realize the almost EVERYTHING is sushi grade, it certainly explains and justifies the price. We got 9 jumbo wild shrimp - u count 5 ($29.99 per pound) , 2 lbs wild Norwegian salmon ($32.99 lb) , 1 lb tuna for sushi (can't remember cost). and it was about $130.00. Excellent customer service! She offered to steam the shrimp for me, but I like to do it so declined. Shrimp was fantastic! Made an amazing shrimp cocktail. Salmon was awesome (roasted with shallots and herbs de Provence) Tuna (shaved thinly) with fresh wasabi and soy sauce was enjoyed by everyone. Definitely a special meal and we will go back again when we are in town and craving fresh seafood/ They also have a variety of daily lunch specials that they serve. I was on my way elsewhere but stopped by to take a look at their seafood selection thinking that I'd pick some of it up on my way back to take home. And though somewhat out of line in price it didn't look bad and everything seemed pretty good until I ran into the worst attitude problem by a staff member I've ever encounter. While looking around, I pulled out my camera, started taking a couple of snap shots, when all of the sudden I was rushed by a staff member with "What do you think you're doing....we don't allow pictures in here." He then went on into a short rant that it was a place of business for the sale of fish, not for taking pictures of fish. Well sheezse! I was sorry I ever ventured into the place and merely left. I left my car parked in front, went about my original business, returned for my car a couple of hours later. When I got into my car, which was still parked in front of Finster in an unreserved mall parking space, out of store comes the same ornery Finster staff member with a pen and paper going behind my car and making a big deal of writing down my license plate number, which of course I could care less about. He was just continuing to be the stupid a** jerk that he is because if he really wanted to know who I am, I would have been more than happy to tell him plus probably let him know that his silly intimidation tactics don't work, at least not with me they don't. As I've said, their food selection isn't bad, but really nothing exemplary, far short of what they have at Fish Peddler on Commercial, nothing better than you can find at Whole Foods or Fresh Market, and with price taken into consideration, not even on par with Publix. Obviously, I'll never be back, and though I could have probably said their offerings are OK, Three Stars, the attitude is so bad, I can only go a One Star, Eek! The place is impeccably clean and you'd never know a fish was on the premises if you walked in blindfolded. The fish is so fresh it still flaps in the display case. They also have toro in both bluefin and salmon. I'd recommend a dish but everything is so good it's hard to choose. We eat lunch there every day and often took away more to cook for dinner. All you need is salt & pepper and some oil or butter and let the fish shine. There is outdoor seating. They also serve and shuck fresh oysters and clams. Amazing fish and always fresh! What I like most about this fish market is that it's consistent. I've never had a bad experience. Their fish comes in daily and so their assortment changes, which is nice. She also told me they have a small restaurant where you can order fish on top of salad, etc. She loves it here & she's a tough cookie....so if she likes it that's saying something. Their fish selection is to die for; albeit, very pricey. I went last weekend and picked up: Halibut, Grouper, MahiMahi, and Shrimp as large as my head. Pricing was around $29/lb and I got around 10-12 ozs each. Everyone was very friendly, they will take the skin off for you and devein if you want. And the offer you a lime or lemon to boot! Cons are if you don't know the market prices you could end up dishing out more than your pocket holds. Some items are reasonable (on the high end but worth the quality you are paying for). Others are insanely expensive relative to Wholefoods and Fish Peddler East on Commercial.
