I've never had a lobster roll like the one from Lobster West. The bread had the perfect crispiness with a buttery garlic flavor while still being fluffy, and the lobster was so flavorful and tender. They give you plenty of lobster too! I'm really glad I got my husband his own order and a mac and cheese too because both were so good. I ordered it to go and received it promptly. They also have a designated lot, which makes it super convenient. The restaurant was clean, and I like how they have both indoor and outdoor seating. It's in downtown Encinitas, which makes it perfect for beachgoers.

The lobster was fresh and tasted really good, so no complaints about the quality. The lobster roll had a generous amount of meat and was definitely enjoyable. That said, I think the price is quite high for what you get. The place itself is very casual and simple, so considering the overall experience, the pricing feels a bit overpriced to me. Good fresh lobster, but I think the value could be better.

Basically I always come to Lobster West when I'm in the area! The food is great and the inside is so cute! Service varies but our server today was amazing! I tried the new crab mac and cheese today, which also comes in a lobster version. Definitely not disappointed!!

I keep coming back to Lobster West for the specialty seafood rolls. Raised in Maryland, crab meat has always been a favorite of mine and I must say Lobster West has the BEST crab roll I've tasted. The amount of crab meat was always perrrfect. Their freshly baked artisan bread always have a niiice crisp and lightly dressed with butter. The sides (baked beans & coleslaw) are an excellent complement to my roll. More added yummyiness!! The ambiance was very casual making it a good spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. The staff were laid-back and friendly at the same time being efficient. Everytime I'm there, I appreciated their customer service. Definitely recommend it!

Lobster West is by far the best in all of San Diego! If you're looking for fresh seafood with the best toasted & buttered rolls this is the perfect place!

Stopped by for a belated Mother's Day with daughter, my wife's favorite lobster roll. I tried the new lobster and Mac &cheese dish and was disappointed in the flavor or just in general the combination. The way that this dish was presented, the lobster did not add anything to what is a good mac & cheese, but actually distracted from it. Definitely will not recommend this dish to anyone. Other than that, everything else was great. Lobster was perfect, the bisque was as well and is usually always consistent. The baked beans remind me of camping and eating them from the can. My daughter thinks Lobster West makes the best coleslaw, but that's not my opinion. I taste something bitter in it and it's one of the few coleslaw's that I actually don't like. Go figure, same genetics and two different opinions. It's always good to keep that fact in mind for reviews. Plenty of parking and Customer Service Service was good. Seating is both inside and outside so you get a good view of Main Street. Enjoy.

This is our go-to spot whenever we're in San Diego. We love their lobster rolls, lobster bisque, and clam chowder. Everything is always super fresh and delicious! The service is friendly, and we always make a point to stop by whenever we're in town.

This time we wanted to try this new to us place, we were so happy to take rideshare to this location as parking is very limited with severely road work happening all around. This restaurant gives a beachy hole in the wall relaxing vibe which we love!! Menu was simple quite a few options, we went for their fish tacos and fish n chips. Between the 4 of us we shared the items to see if they are good before ordering more, the short version of the story is that the food was very good, not dry or fishy smell, taste fresh, succulent piece if fish fillers on the taco, the fish n chips batter was a bit on the thick side but still very tasty. Clam chowder was on point, creamy and not a cream breaking point. We would love going back again once all the road work are done. Service is quick and prompt, no frills. It is a hole in a wall place so expect a bit of self service like getting water or napkins. Overall a solid 5 stars a must try if you like fish tacos and fish n chips.

But the batter was a bit too thick and salty for my taste. The side of tartar sauce was bland and needed a kick of sriracha and lemon. The Mahi three taco plate was very good and a fair value with decent sized pieces of fish and a tasty crema on the finely shredded cabbage and tomatoes. But the tortillas were too dry, which is inexplicable given the myriad great tortillerias in the region. Service was fast and efficient, and the ambience bustling with people jam-packed together scarfing their food. I really appreciate their ongoing excellent health inspection reports.

Also had the gambas (shrimp) and my feeling is this dish tastes the same no matter where you get it. It's spicy oil but there's no flavor (garlic, salt), just spicy oil lightly flavored by the shrimp but nothing special, imho, that you couldn't make at home or get anywhere else. Also had the migas y setas (mushroom with egg), it was good but the mushrooms themselves needed salt. The bread crumb bits had salt but it wasn't enough. Mushrooms, eggs and pita toes are three foods that need salt, period. I would definitely eat here again, the food was good, service was good, the vibe and ambiance was good. Think of going to your friend's home who has great taste in décor, with a twist of flair. The warm amber lighting really sets a comfortable tone. For dinner, we ordered the following: Sashimi Mediterráneo: Melt in your mouth delicious. Chicken Paillard: Perfectly lemony and beautifully roasted. The salad was fresh and paired really well with the chicken. I loved the blistered capers. They went great with both the sashimi and the chicken. Dessert: Basque Cake: A soft, multi textured, biscuity French Spanish cake with vanilla pastry cream and sweet cherries. The pastry cream is baked in perfectly. It has an almost creamy cheesecake like texture, and paired with the vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. My girlfriend and I just wished there was a little more ice cream. It would have balanced the dessert even better. I'm definitely coming here again and again! I want to try their Patatas Bravas, Paella & Kabocha Soup, but I also want to get what I've ordered. What a predicament.

You probably cant find a place that can do this very easily at this size. cons: - we came due to it was a michelin rec for this area but i thought it was a little overhyped - it was a birthday dinner, and we didn't get seated until 25 min after our reservation and theres no waiting area so it was kinda awkward. Other guests also told me they also had been waiting for a while. - the pork was rlly dry and not that flavorful - a shame bc it seemed like a nice cut of meat - the potatoes sides were dry - the mussle toast is way too salty and so the bread and saltiness drowns out the mussle flavor neutral: - it's really loud, great for party vibes with some girlfriends but hard to hear in general - it's expensive for the vibes. we ordered on the heavy side for 2 people and it was $300. But if you're visiting just wanna experience fresh fish it's worth it

The clam chowder was just okay and nothing particularly special. The sea bass with garlic butter was a little bland and definitely needed some hot sauce or tartar sauce for extra flavor. The Spanish rice also tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and was a little dry. I did appreciate that the black beans came topped with some cheese and were served in a little tostada bowl - a nice touch. The fish and chips were hands down the best thing we ordered. The fish had a super crispy batter and the fries were crispy as well. Definitely the standout of the meal. Alone or with a group, it was a super cool place to go. IT'S NOT THE COOL PLACE IT USED TO BE I gave up a few months ago ordering the whole broiled artichoke which used to be amazing but now is always small, tough and burned. The sand dabs I ordered last night were mushy, greasy and tasteless. The Parmesan 'crust' was soggy. I had to ask the bartender 4 times for lemons (none came with the dish) because she would only give me 3 tiny slices at a time - perhaps they are being rationed due to Strait of Hormuz related supply chain issues? It's possible the complimentary sourdough bread is being rationed as well. IT'S NOT THE COOL PLACE IT USED TO BE In the past this restaurant was lively with all kinds of fun and warm interaction between staff, regular customers and tourists; now it is just hectic and loud. In the oyster bar area there are tv screens literally everywhere so the vibe is more sports bar-like than the vibe of a quality oyster bar. I no longer trust the quality of the food and I no longer enjoy the staff who's attention is vapid rather than warm and welcoming. IT'S NOT THE COOL PLACE IT USED TO BE
