I called to get estimate on fixing my 2 sagging gates that won't latch properly. I sent them pictures as requested. They sent me an email estimate $150 with caveat it could cost more depending time/materials. I sent email reply asking to speak with a manager on specifics. Days later, they sent me the same estimate/invoice asking to go forward. They COMPLETELY ignored my phone request. Superior has a zombie office where their internal process is all that matters. Their repair estimate is just a site visit minimum $150 fee with open ended charging on back end. This is not a viable repair estimate. Superior presents as another greed driven company with ZERO customer focus.

Initially they showed up and performed the work. I had a couple of issues. First the quality of the work. We had several quality issues from the outset of the completion of the project. Many boards were cracked in half. Most of the boards were not nailed correctly and started to fall off within 3 days of being replaced. The stub wall where they built a gate completely fell off and I had to reattached. We also found the post were not cemented in like they were supposed to be. It took very little pressure to move them around in the ground. The second issue is that he took about 80 feet of previously installed fence planks that were clearly instructed to remain on the property. Lyle stated that he would return them within the week. This was in May on 2022. They also took one of my wife's tools (by accident) also which he said he would return. Both my wife and I have reached out to Lyle and asked for our situation to be corrected. Multiple times we were told they will be there at a specific time and date. All which came and went without them showing up or even bothering to contact us. They never follow up and reschedule. We spent $7,000.00 on this fence which was very close to other licensed contractors. Since the lack of follow up and quality issues I would not recommend this company. We are contracting with another company to repair and correct the issues we have and paying out our pockets.

Also, there has been an extreme influx of tourists and homeless people so walking on St. George street can be obnoxious. The structure is old and not modified so it is really authentic. The gates are at the end of St. George street so if you keep walking, you cannot miss them. Although we went at night to explore, we could still bask in the beauty of it due to the obvious historical architecture. This monument is definitely something to see when visiting St. Augustine. I am sure many walking tours stop here as well. It is also right across from the Fort so you can venture to both consecutively.
