Oh it's very close to Roger's arena

I first discovered this most underrated gem on Jasper Ave in the winter of 2018 as I sauntered in seeking only a glass of red wine and optimistically average food. I ordered what they describe on their menu as 'mystery red' for wine and a Diavola pizza as I learned they have a wood fired pizza oven they inherited from a past restaurant tenant (Joey Jasper) and sat at the bar itself and was served by a bartender named Nicole. She introduced herself and happily suggested a pizza based on my preference for savoury and Neapolitan pizza tastes! What I came away with can best be described by some of life's great unexpected surprises. Remember when you reached into a pocket of a jacket you hadn't worn since last winter and found $20 you forgot you tucked in there? Remember when you were late for an important date/meeting and magically hit every single green light in the world and made it EARLY?? Remember what it felt like to fit into your favourite summer jeans after a winter of smashing poutine and fried chicken only to find that somehow they hadn't set you back but actually magically made those jeans fit better than ever??? Well you get the picture! The pizza was absolutely divine, with the nicest blend of bite, chew and aftertaste combined with the nice char on some of the bubbles created in their caputo blend crust! The house made fennel sausage and chili oil confirmed it was a great decision to skip breakfast earlier that day to save room for this :) Nicole was awesome in checking in on me and how everything was as well. Overall, this experience was so unexpected and delivered on every aspect of what hospitality and food shld be! Everything from a casual vibe enabling great conversation, to popping in randomly for a bite to eat, ample free parking out back, to the personal attention from the servers and awesome layout of the inside space, the cleanliness of the bathroom/venue, open kitchen view of the cheerful pizza artisans! Exactly like the unexpected surprises I detailed above! Overall, this place is a gem, and a MUST VISIT on any short or long visit to Edmonton, and if you live in Alberta's capital city, you might just become a regular after just one visit! So much to try on their menu! Terrific staff (ask for Nicole), and with added gems like their great beer selection, shuffleboard table and cozy booths you'd just feel like... well, home! You're welcome!

Came here with a friend Friday during happy hour. I got here at 3:15 - early enough to snag a table out on the patio since it was a beautiful day. I ordered the Sangria which was decent for the price point. Along with the one drink, I snacked on two of the happy hour specials. For $5 each I got the guacamole & chips and the Szechuan edamame. Both were well prepared - the chips even being warm when they arrived. Love the Szechuan edamame as it tastes just like the one that Joeys used to serve up when they were in the same location. I could eat those all day long. Service was pretty lack lustre. Not sure if it's because I showed up with my toddler in tow- which reminds me to add that this place would not be considered child-friendly. The server was not overly friendly nor did she check up on us much. The atmosphere on the patio was loud and festive - with groups of guys playing different games offered on the patio. All in all I'd come back for their happy hour specials.

I went here for a birthday party for a friend who had reserved a table for us all. There was 8 of us altogether. We had no problems finding parking and were happy to see that the place was full but not too noisy or crowded. All of the staff were professional, young, and fun. The music was good - little loud at times but fun. I ordered pasta and was surprised that it was really really good, haha. The drinks we ordered weren't the best but overall I was super happy. I'll definitely go back.

Lots of seating from bar stools to couches and everything in between, plenty of screens everywhere, good tunes, fast and friendly service, awesome fish tacos with quality hot sauce + slaw and they hold together till the very last bite even when drenched in hot sauce - critical for any serious taco fiend. Not usually a fan of chains but If I lived in the neighborhood I imagine this would be my local haunt. Nothing else like it in the area so if you're craving that Toronto vibe while in Edmonton check it out.

A little too much for 1 person post-meal but great size to share and available for takeout too. Milkshake: 10/10 so authentic, creamy, coffee flavor wasn't very strong. Burgers are made fresh and smashed just right, not too thin that they crumble at the edges or fall apart in the bun. All burgers are two patty minimum. The most basic burger costs $12, and comes with cheese and a ton of fresh veggie and traditional toppings. A burger combo is $17 and includes a drink. Upgrade to a poutine or a milkshake for a couple of bucks. Their fries are really good, chunky and made fresh. Haven't tried the milkshakes. Proper old-school burger joint food. Compare with fast food and other small local burger places. A quarter pounder at McD's costs $8 these days, crazy. At places like Woodshed or Foxburger, you can't get just a burger, and prices start at $14 (single patty no cheese) or even $20. Drinks are extra. I love these local burger places too, but the burger quality is similar in my opinion, and I really like the style of burger served here. Let's Smash has the Goldilocks "just right" kind of smash, the burger buns hold up to the contents, and the toppings are fresh and flavourful though not as fancy as other places. One time though, I had a burger here that was topped with gyro toppings, specifically the pickled veggies, and it was delicious. We always sit in, there's plenty of seating space, and usually some soccer or European music contests on the TV at a low volume. Service is efficient, order at the counter and have a seat. No alcohol service means less trouble, which is nice for lunch or early supper on Jasper Ave. We generally get friendly service and have never felt forgotten or neglected for the steady stream of delivery drivers.

But we have 2 kids and 2 adults so it worked out for us! The kids menu items are a hot dog, a cheeseburger or Mac and cheese. All the portions for the kids looked really big which I appreciated. My boys are eaters and it was nice to see that they got just as many French fries on their plate as an adult portion. And PS the garlic fries are amazing!!! I'm so happy we got 3 orders of the garlic fries and I was curious and tried the animal fries as well- they were different...tasty but definitely a unique taste. The closest I can describe it is cheese wiz and mustard and caramelized onions. Very potent, I saw they have an Animal burger which probably uses that same mixture combo. Animal fries cost an extra $4 so for the extra cost I would probably just go with the garlic fries every time because they don't have an extra cost. I ordered the most popular Bacon Pepper Smash ($21 single $25 double) and really enjoyed the flavor and the price was on point. Smash sauce, pickled peppers, bacon, American cheddar, iceberg. The single was definitely enough for myself but with the thinner patties I could see why some people order the double. Hubby had the Inferno ($21 single $25 double) Inferno sauce, pickled peppers, crispy fried onions, American Swiss, iceberg. The sauce was spicy! Good but spicy! And it kind of overpowered the whole thing. Parking down the side street was a bit of a walk but not terrible and right beside this place is a cool looking liquor store and Kind Ice Cream across the road. The space itself was pretty big and we felt like we weren't too smushed up on booth next to the next table. Bathrooms are downstairs, mind your head! And there was a baby change table in the women's bathroom.
