What a nice way to spend what was supposed to be our last night in Lisbon. We dined here at 9:30pm…read morealthough I will say by the end of our meal at midnight, the place seemed to be shutting down... makes sense, I would book something earlier despite those late European dinner times. Besides, it was us that was slow, not them! Okay, this is a beautiful restaurant. One of the most beautiful I have ever dined in. Even though the stairs up to the restaurant were dark, the dining areas were well lit. After taking a lot of time with the menu (everything sounded so good!) we got our food in good time. The couvert was good, no complaints there. Sourdough and a flavored butter. We also got the steak tartare sandwiches, which were good but I do wish there were less brioche on them. I ate mine open-faced for a less bready experience. For our mains, we had the octopus yakitori and the pork shoulder. I liked the yakitori but almost wish there was more going on with the octopus flavor wise, but the portion was huge!! The pork is served medium rare but it was good and the tummy troubles we had that caused us to miss our flight the next day were probably unrelated. The pork with the potatoes though was very tasty and definitely my favorite part of the meal. Such great texture on all three elements on the plate. For dessert, our waiter sang happy birthday and they presented the pavlova with a song and everything! What a nice touch. The service was really good besides a couple of times other waiters would distract our waiter while we were trying to talk to him. Anyways, highly recommend if you want to have a meal that feels very special.

It was stunning, historic, chic, youthful, high energy; lots of young women in gowns and men in suits. Great cocktail and wine menu. Our daughters had a Hugo Spritz and a "Bubblegum" martini which was beautiful and delicious (surprisingly not too sweet, tasted like bubblegum, but bit of raspberry - and had a foam that looked like a pile of bubblegum balls!) I had a Thomas Shelby - a dark rum, 20 yr port and bitters; really good. Like a Portuguese take on a dark and stormy. After eating mostly seafood for the past two weeks, we splurged on the steak a barao, potato gnocchi, rack of lamb w/ potatas bravas, and sides of fries, green beans and oven-baked rice w/ smoked sausage. Wow. Everything was excellent! Prices were not unreasonable, based on the quality. Good service. For a great meal that feels like you're eating in a stunning museum, absolutely recommend it!

Watching the chefs in their element preparing the dishes was so cool; for such a tight space, they were a well-oiled machine. Here were my favorites: 1. The tomato soup with egg. So, so simple, with only two main ingredients, but perfectly executed. I'll need to try making this at home with the immersion blender. 2. Pan con tomato with jamón ibérico. I'm sitting here writing this review and crying a little on the inside that we in the States don't have such easy access to quality ingredients to make such a stand-out dish. Grilled bread, tomato spread, and the best jamón I've ever tasted. This was an order we added at the very end and I'm glad we did. 3. The sweet rice pudding with cinnamon ice cream and toasted rice krispies on top. I was almost too full to function by this point but still made room to demolish this dessert. We also got the grouper stew, which was pretty good, but at that point, I had basically gotten the same dish multiple times and this one didn't particularly stand out. Definitely make reservations! There are two seats on the street but I personally wouldn't want to sit there as there's a ton of foot traffic in the area (plus the cars drive pretty close too so you're also breathing in fumes and exhaust). A perfect dinner in Lisbon: oysters at Rosamar one street over and then some tapas and drinks at Tapisco.

As…read morea Michelin recognized spot, my expectations were up there, and I'm happy to say they fully delivered. First impressions: the ambiance was warm and stylish with an open kitchen concept. The staff was super friendly, spoke English fluently, and made me feel right at home. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but I limited myself to two dishes: 1) Fried Eggs with Potatoes & Iberian Meat 2) Salted Cod with Confit Egg Yolks Both plates were visually stunning, but the Salted Cod was the real standout. They recommended mixing everything together, and the result was this elevated cod hash which is completely unique and packed with flavor. It's not something I've had before, and I'll definitely be thinking about it long after the trip. With a glass of red wine, my total came to $67 USD which, for a Michelin-tier experience, felt totally fair. Would I come again? Absolutely.
