This review is translated. Hi, I'm a furry girl, and I love Lock Haven dog park. It is so neat! There are two dedicated play areas. The fenced in area on the left is for friends that are less than 35 pounds, and the one on the right is for friends over 35 pounds. I'm a puppy so I can enjoy the under 35 side for a little while longer. There are pretty trees everywhere, and lots of room to run and play. I especially enjoy playing in the big mud puddle. It gets deep and muddy whenever it rains. The big friend side is a little scary to me. They seem to have a lot of scuffles over there. The big friends start a ruckus, and then their humans start freaking out. Mom says I can't go over there until I'm big enough to defend myself. That is fine with me. There is a paved trail that makes a big loop around the whole park. Humans run or ride bikes around the loop. The east side of the park is bordered by a small creek. There is a sandy embankment and it's a great place to get my paws wet. Today I played in the creek with a four month old chocolate lab named Hank. We had fun. This park is terrific. There is even a playground that is just for the little humans. Signed, Macey the golden pup

This is the stream there as well!

So far been the best place for me to take my dog for a few hours a day! She loves it and everyone else there seems to have well trained dogs and sweet dogs! My only negative is in the actual dog park area is just dirt and mud so my dog gets a little more then dirty every time before we leave! But that's not that big of a deal they do have a hose so you can give your dog water or hose them off before you leave.

Omg! Our pup loved this place. What a gem. We initially found this park on a leisure drive through Hoover/Vestavia. It's really a fun park for the entire family. Amenities are stellar for outdoor fun: convenient parking, walking track, playground for the kiddos, serene views with park benches along the creekside, two separate dog enclosures for socializing your fur baby(see pictures, varies according to weight). We cannot wait to go back....best thing yet: your fur baby is exhausted by the time you return home.

I'm in town working for the week and had to bring my two large dogs along. I took my dogs to Crestline Park on the first day but it's not an off leash park. I decide to come here because my dogs were in my van most of the day and they really needed to burn off all the energy before taking them back to the hotel. I came here at 7:30pm and there was no lights. Luckily my dogs collars have lights so I can still see them and the had a headlight. From what I can see in the light of the moon and my headlight this park looks like it has 3-4 Acres of dirt land for small and large dogs. 35lbs is the weight differentiation between small and large dogs. Downside is there is not lights after dark otherwise I would give it a 5 star. Overall seems like s great park for all dogs. Daytime review: park is beautiful and lots of space for dogs to run. It's great that's the dogs have plenty of space to run but caveat to that was I saw poop as I was walking across to pick up after my dogs. I even picked a fresh one along the way. My guess is the park is too big that owners can't keep track of where their dogs do their business.

Dog Heaven with a swimming creek!!

Great place to bring your dog(s) to run around. Nice sized dog park and access to the river nearby. My dogs love coming to this place!

The grass is overgrown and the park is poorly maintained. We do love the creek that's outside of the dog park though!

There's truly no shortage of trails, and the variety keeps things interesting the entire time. The park definitely offers some challenging uphill climbs--especially for us Florida girls who aren't used to elevation--but we powered through and felt very accomplished. One of my favorite highlights was Rushing Rendezvous; the idea of a suspension bridge tucked up in the treetops always excites me, and this one did not disappoint. Of course, when we saw Trail 5 marked as most difficult, it was a no‑brainer--we had to take it. I really enjoyed reading about the history along the way, especially learning more about the Birmingham Mineral Railroad site. I do wish there had been a bit more signage around some of the remaining structures so we could soak up even more history, but honestly, guessing their original purpose became part of the fun. Hands down, I would absolutely come back to explore more of Red Mountain Park. It's a great mix of challenge, scenery, and history--and well worth the visit.

When we got it pulled up on the GPS, I was CONVINCED it was a mistake because we could not find it. We drove all around the block but could not see where it was, even though GPS said we were clearly there! We starting seeing a playground and open areas behind a bunch of houses, so we knew we were nearby. We drove around more and finalllllyyy found an entrance. It is hidden-- the entrance is on Kingsbury Ave. I've posted a picture so you'll know where to find it and what it looks like. There's also only street parking available. It was a Tuesday afternoon in May that we went, and it was so peaceful. The park is completely surrounded by houses (why it's so hard to find). There was only one other person there doing some running exercise. There's a playground, swings, track, picnic tables under some huge trees, and a good amount of open area. It was a hot day so we ate lunch under the trees, which kept us very cool. Then we played on the swings and playground as an attempt to relive our childhood memories! No bathroom or water fountain (maybe I missed that) that I saw. All in all-- a nice peaceful park. Maybe when school is out it might be busier, but I enjoyed myself!

They do a good job at offering events for your puppies and even sending you reminders when your vaccinations are expiring! Just make sure you have your vaccination records ready to present when you arrive. First, there's plenty to do for the pups. Offering a variety of obstacles and mini pools for them to cool down in is enough to keep them entertained for a couple of hours. Every time we've been there were lots of dogs, and they have always been super friendly (don't get me wrong, there's always a yapper or two but nothing too serious). If you're nervous about coming due to lots of other dogs, they have staff who is constantly roaming the play areas ensuring any aggressive behaviors get resolved immediately. If watching dogs be goofy isn't enough entertainment for you, they offer plenty of chairs to sit down and enjoy a beer or beverage of choice. Everything is in a can (make sure to use the nifty can cruncher onsite and recycle after) and there's a decent list of options to choose from.
