No way, no how, HELL NO! I can't believe it has not been replaced. It's the oldest coaster in Busch Gardens Williamsburg, possibly original to the 70's park. There are a lot it seems who are sentimental about the ride, I'm not one of them. The coaster is unrelenting to your body, especially back. I refuse to go on it, but my kids still enjoy. So just my opinion I think it's outlived it time and needs to go! I'm a fan of Busch Gardens and have visited probably over 50 times. So I say this out of love. Replace the Monster.

Nessie is a nostalgic fave dating back to the 80's as my first ever roller coaster. It's neat still seeing her unmistakable green and yellow steetrack as a now 40 year old, but I understand why some would want it retired. As a kid, I recall being terrified of the clinking sound of the train, climbing up to make the first descent. Then, the 114' drop felt like an eternity. Now, it's a warm up coaster to the larger, faster thrill rides on site. Once you get into the 2 rider per row sardine car, you may need the jaws of life to exit after the 2 min ride time. I'm 5'10" and it's not comfortable for me, so I can't imagine those blessed with more height (or weight for that matter). I still enjoy the loop-the-loop, but if the line is long, I tend to skip it.

Well I rode this ride and I have to agree with most bumpy side to side and up and down and not the fun type either. The guy who rode it 10 hours straight must have a strong body and brain and gave him props for it. I do not think they will get ride of it since it is a classic. But I ridden worst arrow rollercoasters. I have to say the loop within a loop is cool and the cave part. That is why it is getting a 2 stars.

I first rode this classic coaster back in August of 2019 (I was 18 years old back then) so I could start overcoming my fear of coasters especially the big ones. I will admit that I was expecting some kind of roughness out of this ride but to be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought and I'm disagreeing with all of the negative reviews as a result. I mean, yes there was a tiny bit of bumpiness but it was a rather "lovable" kind of bumpy. This coaster currently holds the record for the tallest and fastest roller coaster I've ever been on. The drops were the worst part for me especially the first one which scared the living shit out of me because of the speed but it was fun nonetheless.

The Loch Ness Monster is a beloved classic coaster. Busch Gardens replaced the track a year or two ago, but it hasn't helped the jerkiness. The cars have a lot of space in them where you'll be slammed around inside of. This ride without fail will give me either a headache or a backache. If you choose to ride it, save it for last. read more

I guess this is the oldest rollercoaster in the park. Especially since the American Coaster Enthusiasts have given it a Coaster Landmark. Which is kind of like a historical landmark just for coasters. I know that makes it a draw, but for some reason I don't see it for this ride. You can tell that it is a ride that has been here for a while. It feels dated and I do not think that it was a smooth ride in the least. I came off of here feeling like I had gotten out of bed the wrong way in the morning. Yes, I am currently at that age. What is impressive is the two loops that appear to be interlocked. It's always fun to be zooming upside down. To have two of those, it made the ride not so bad, but not so great either. I do appreciate how they actually included water into the theme. It would have been a little dull if they didn't have it going at least near the water. For a good portion you are going up and down over the water. I mean, this is the Loch Ness Monster...at least it didn't ask me for $3.50... read more

This roller coaster has met it's time limit. I'm all for classic rides, but this one is just ridiculous. It was fun 30 years ago, but it's just rough and bumpy now and can barely make it up the lift hill. Time to make a change... read more

Busch Gardens has been in my rotation for years…read more The park has evolved over the years for the better with great rides and food choices, especially for the festival, which consisted of foods from around the world native to those countries featured along with beverages. Upon entering, we were greeted by a pleasant staff member at the kiosk where you pay for parking. We were directed to the parking section we purchased (VIP), and headed to the ticket kiosk to retrieve our park tickets. Once we were in the park, we headed to the kiosk to purchase the food and wine festival package (we purchased the 15 pack, which allows you 25 items from any festival kiosk, food or drink). The kiosks were located around the park. We enjoyed food and drinks from around the world and the portions were generous. We also took in the attractions and rides as well. Please check out my pics for more details on the food and drinks we got. All in all, we always enjoy our time at Food and Wine Festival. The park also hosts an Octoberfest, Halloween, and Mardi Gras festivals to name a few. I suggest you visit and try out one of them, which is perfect for those who really don't ride (like me).

The ride selection is fantastic almost all of them are world-class. My personal favorite is…read morePantheon, although, objectively, Verbolten is probably the best ride in the park. However, the rides are really the only thing I have to say that's positive. Ride operations were poor at best. They take a long time to load and unload, with the only exceptions being Griffon and InvadR. The worst offender was Tempesto. In fact, the entire Festa Italia area had pretty poor operations, which is unfortunate since it has some of the best rides in the park. Tempesto is a very short ride, and in the time it took them just to load one train, it could have completed about eight cycles. I also found that Apollo's Chariot and Pantheon were pretty restrictive for larger riders. I'm not that big of a guy, and they had to squeeze me into both of them. (Also, there's a ride operator at Apollo's Chariot who will, without warning, shove the restraint into your thighs and is apparently not afraid to risk permanent damage to your future lineage.) I can't imagine having to push a wheelchair around this park. There are extremely steep hills everywhere. So if you're planning to visit and have a mobility disability, all I've got to say is: good luck. The food was kind of mid, with one exception: the pizza pretzel. That was actually pretty good. To sum it all up, if you only care about rides, this park is a great option. However, when it comes to literally everything else, it's pretty weak.
