We only got to stay one night, but wish that we had planned for longer. We arrived early before…read morethe given checkin time due to having to catch the Jacobite Steam Train. We were met by the Host Alex that helped us store our bags. When we returned later that evening, our bags were already in our room waiting for us. We had to leave extremely early the next morning so we had to miss breakfast. Alex went the extra mile to see that we were taken care of and made us a takeaway breakfast along with some fresh coffee.

Well, what should I say. We found this so called B&B in the AA B&B Guide and thought the pictures…read morelook and the description read nice. So we booked a night in advance. Once we arrived, we parked our car on the private parking lot, which is pretty cool. Then we went inside and were welcomed, but just not in the Scottish awesome way that we were used to from other places. This place isn't a B&B, it's, as it says in the name, a guest house. That means it's more commercial. Our room was okay. Not very big, but big enough. Nod very modern, but we didn't care. It was clean and we had a bed to sleep in: perfect: It also said in the description: Complimentary sample of whiskey or sherry for every guest! So we tried it. The whisky wasn't a single malt as one might would expect in Scotland, but it was a mixed whisky, probably even Jack Daniels or something like that. In a so called Distillery Guest House, this was quite the disappointment. Breakfast was included, self service with eggs, sausages, and all the other Scottish breakfast delights. It was standard, and most importantly cooked and then kept warm for some time, so it wasn't the best breakfast we've had on our journey. But: it was okay. Thus: Three stars from me for an okay but not very special experience. My tip: go to Ben Nevis Inn for dinner!

The Cronlinnhe Guest House was the perfect Bed and Breakfast for out two night stay in Ft. William!…read moreWe stayed in the Lundy Suite, which was as beautifully decorated and cozy as the rest of the house. It was so fun to read up on the history of the room and look out over the gorgeous views of the Loch. We planned to come in on a late bus the first night of our stay - Sophie (the host) sent us our breakfast order ahead of time to fill out, and even waited up to make sure we made it in alright. Breakfast both days was delicious - we chose the Full English, Eggs and Tomato, Vegetarian Haggis, and Kippers to try over the course of our stay. It was easy to walk down to the loch or the High Street, and there is a little shop just down the road for anything else you might need. The bus and railway station in about a 20 min walk through town, or you can easily sort a rental car, taxi, or use the local bus system. The cherry on top of our stay at Crolinnhe was playing a few quiet games of chess over a dram of local whiskey in the evening. Sophie has really gone to lengths to make sure this B&B is the best that there is - and it shows! I would definitely recommend it as a home base for a Highlands excursion!

This place is gorgeous. Every detail thought of for your room. I may be bias, but I liked our room…read morethe best. (I have nothing to base it on). We were in Suite 8, The Linnhe Suite. it overlooked the water front. There was a Japanese toilet. Most marvelous thing I've seen. LOL. No two toilets were the same in Scotland. I may travel all of Europe just comparing toilets. Merely walk up to the toilet and the lid will raise up. The toilet seat is heated. There is even a remote control that goes with the toilet. There was a spectacular brass tub. There is a mirror over the tub that has a remote to turn it into a TV. There was a long and spacious two head shower. We were just coming off the WHW. But if I would have known how spectacular it was here, we would have stayed at least 2 more nights.
